    Shaving Tips

    Hi everyone,

This may sound odd: but I'm after all your tips for shaving your legs.

You see I've been waxing for 6+ years but recently decided that it was too expensive to do (we have a new budget to save money for our house + and overseas trip). So, I tried to wax at home but I just can't handle self inflicting the pain! So, now I'm back to shaving! I haven't shaved for a LONG time.

So anyone have suggestions, tips or budget ways of shaving. Do you use cream, do you do it in the shower? Do you do your whole leg or just the bottom half?

    Thanks for your help!

I do mine in the shower with Dove Cream Oil wash (mostly cos it smells so yummy). I tried all the fancy razors, but keep going back to just disposable ones as they do the same job but work out cheaper then the refills IYKWIM. In summer I do my whole leg, because of shorts, swimmers etc etc, but in winter & even at the moment before it gets too hot I do to just above my knees.

I just use soap & I have a Venus razor, but the disposables do just as good a job.

I just shave under the shower and don't use any soap (for shaving, that is! ). But don't forget to moisturise, I find that shaving can really dry my legs out.

Yep, don't waste money on expensive razors, disposables are just as good if not better. I only shave below my knee because the hairs above are very sparce. Make sure you don't shave cold skin... wait until the skin is very warm and soft. I have found that you get less ingrowns and rash etc if you avoid shaving dry/cold skin.

I use disposable's and shave in the shower using Dove Cream Bar. On special occasions I "borrow" DH's shaving gel. I only shave the bottom half of the leg in sumer and in winter I just let it grow until DH throw's a fit But I have to say, even though I am a brunett, my leghair is very fine.
