Call me crazy, but I absolutely love coconut oil as a 'styling' product - it smoothes frizzies, makes my hair nice and shiny (like, it actually kind of sparkles in the sun!), and I find a little bit of coconut oil in my hair before straightening helps it hold the style better than hairspray - no kidding! And it's all-natural, organic and great for your skin and hair.:
I buy tubs of it for around $10 (which lasts months!) from the cooking section of the local health food store - it's food-grade and smells soooo good!

Glamourcide I have used coconut oil before, I think it's really popular in Asia and India? But I found it made my hair too oily and a bit heavy. I thought0 I was putting too much on but every time I tried to use the smallest amount it still wasn't what I wanted. Many people love it though and it's cheap enough to try, then if you don't like it in y our hair you can use it to cook with or I used to massage with it, great for you skin!
Well this morning I've been checking out my hair again and I have more woohoos to add :leap: I have layers in the back of my hair which being so thick looks like a huge birds nest unless it's straightened and even then it's a little boofy due to the damage the foils did. But this morning it's beautiful! I could wear my hair down and it's just got a lovely wave/curl to to in a hair style that I've been wanting to have for a couple of years. So not only have I now got lush hiar, nice skin as the products didn't irritate my body in the shower but now I also have a new hair style!!
Well DD2 got the first use here this morning. She wet the bed, her hair didn't need washing, but it was the perfect excuse ;)
Her hair is very thick & wavy. Had to put it up for school, but can't wait to see it this arvo!

I meant to add ladies. Use the argan oil sparingly. It looks pricey but morroccan oil is more expensive and not all natural. It is awesome stuff. I even use it on dd's very fine hair to stop it being so fluffy. It's about the only way I can put it up. I literally only use one pump for the ends of my mid back length hair and about 1/4 of a pump for the fluffy bits around the front. I've used it daily for 2 1/2 months and only an inch out of the bottle!
Ladies, help!!!! I've used my moogoo products now 3 times in one week. I was hoping not to wash my hair more than 1 or 2 times a week. Basically, the first day I wash it it's pretty soft but not as shiny as with my Loreal stuff, and the next day it loses its sheen and looks like it needs a good wash! I have 2 washes with the shampoo (first one doesn't really lather up but the second time it does a bit) and put about a 50 cent piece size of conditioner on. Am I doing something wrong? I feel like the hair is not really clean.....
I try to just pat the conditioner on top of my hair on top of my head rather then rubbing it through. I find it is really conditioning and maybe try using a smaller quantity? I literally only use 1 &1/2 pumps.
It won't be as shiny as with Loreal because they put silicone in their products. I've noticed over 2 weeks my hair is a lot shinier naturallly because it's looking healthier

Sounds similar to how I wash miss b. I too shampoo twice, I do use quite a lot of shampoo though and I massage it into the scalp but wipe over the ends of my hair. I use about 3 pumps of conditioner but only apply to the lengths, I'm quite careful about not getting at my scalp as my hair gets oily quicker if the conditioner is near scalp.
I find most times my wash lasts 3 days now, if I've spent a lot of time doing my hair then i will wash after 2.
Miss.B mine was like that, but I think it really just needs time to get used to it. 3 days ago I was wondering if I'd wasted my money & spread the love for nothing :lol: but figured it must take time.
Talked to my sister about it (she was an apprentice hair dresser for a while & did TAFE courses & stuff) & she said it'd take a couple of weeks to really get used to it. Made me think back to when I tried Dove when it first came out. Worked awesome for the first 3 or 4 weeks, was only washing every 2 - 3 days, but then my hair got used to it & went back oily & frizzy & yuck.
I washed mine about 3pm yesterday afternoon. Normally it'd already start looking & feeling oily. But it hasn't yet. Its feeling quite nice.
I started washing twice & then conditioning, avoiding the roots. Only doing the ends with conditioner.
Actually I remember mum telling me years ago that the hair models on TV only use conditioner. Thats why their hair is so smooth & shiny. I asked how, when it'd get so dirty. She told me that conditioner will clean the hair too, & there'd be an amount of time for your hair to get used to it before it'd stop looking greasy & start looking nice.
Not sure how true that is... I could never put up with greasy hair long enough to find out!
Thanks lovelies! I will keep on going for a while and see if my hair gets used to it. I rubbed the conditioner all over my scalp, so will put it on ends only next time. I had to wash my hair today as I'm going out later, so went back to my loreal elvive but I'll go back to moogoo next time. It's good to know it takes a while for the hair to start looking nice!

Ive been using natural shampoos and conditioners for years. It takes a while of using them, but your hair eventually gets a lot more healthy than it would have been if you were using the chemical based ones which just dry your hair out. Most of the natural ones wont strip your natural oils so it gives your hair a chance to be healthy.
ive been using alchemy brand for years which is really nice but now just use sukin coz its cheaper.
I found the ones with SLS in tend to strip your hair then disguise the fact they've stripped your hair. I know one shampoo made my hair feel so squeaky clean it was like wearing latex gloves while conditioning... it was horrid. Moogoo has definately repaired 90% of the damage and hair is getting better every wash!
