ok, no rules.
but there must be "tricks" and "guidelines".
there must be ways of flattering older skin. tricks that work for that. cos all the tricks i used when my skin was younger, do not work now (with different skin). The plumpness of the face is gone.
on the makeover shows, look 10 years younger etc, the makeup artists allude to tricks for different age groups.
there must be something to it, i don't think just anyone could be a makeup artist, they know what they're doing, they're schooled up, they're practised. Their jargon floors me, i have no clue what they mean by "contouring". i watch, i listen, but it might as well be in another language. So i admire what they do, even though i don't understand it.
