    Question packet soup mix. in slow cookers

    are packet soup mixes in recipes for the slow cooker for flavour or to thicken the dish??
    im making a stroganoff dinner with mince and its calls for a 35g soup mix which i dont have, so was wondering if its to thcken because i'll add some cornflour

    Flavour mainly I think, I'd use the cornflour and put in a couple of stock cubes for the flavour.
