I intially thought that 'Slow Cookers' and 'Crock Pots' were the same thing, however I'm told that they're different, and that it's something to do with the heating element?
Any ideas?
Also, what brands of SCs or CPs do you use? Would you recommend them? Ours got 'lost' whilst being stored at brother-in-laws house while we were overseas, so I'm in the market for a new one - but a large-ish one that you can do a family's whole meal in...
My understanding of them was that they were the same too - only the name 'crock pot' was what they were called in the 60-70 and 80's. There are many wise slow-cooking women here, I'm sure they would know.
Well actually thats not really true. The old crock pots had the element on the bottom but the newer ones have them around the outside like slow cookers.
We have a breville and its fantastic I can never remember the stats on it LOL I get confused I think its 4.5 lts and its digital so you can time how long you want on each settings (with high & low) and it has automatic warm for 4 hours after cooking time.
Well, I never knew that.
We have a Breville Avance, love it, is programmable and has automatic keep warm setting (is the one with the digital display), was one of the bigger ones we could buy, around 4.5 ltrs, about $80.
Gidget.
And can I just clarify I didn't mean that to sound bad LOL! I was just saying it as I was thinking it but as I read it back I thought... hmmm that could be taken badly So nup thats not quite right... almost but now they are the same
