this is my mum's pastry biscuit, I use it for everything from the pastry for an apple pie or lemon meringue to making tarts and biscuits that the kids can decorate.

    1 cup flour
    1 cup S/R flour
    1 cup icing sugar
    125g butter
    1 egg

rub butter into well sifted dry ingrediants and then mix in egg, knead into a dough and roll out between 2 sheets of grease proof paper about 5 mm thick and cut into any shape you have handy.

Bake for about 10-15 minutes until browning at 180 degrees

you can also add chocolate cocoa to the recipe to make chocolate pastry bicuits - very yum.
