1 1/2 cups plain flour, 1/2 cup cornflour, 1 cup butter, 1/2 cup icing sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla essence. Mix and form log. cover with cling film. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Bake for 8-10 mins at 200 deg C.

This is the basic recipe. makes yummo melt in mouth shortbread.
Variations: I add chopped glace cherries. Looks very X-masy!
Cut into fingers and dip in melted choc.

lol funny this post should come up now ive literally just finished making shortbread with DD for santa!

heres the recipe i used handed down generations throughout my family very simple:

    250g Plain flour
    75g Caster sugar
    175g Butter

Preheat oven to 160, mix flour and sugar together and rub in butter. knead into a sort of dough and seperate into 4 (makes it easier as its pretty crumbly stuff!) flatten out and use cutters or cut into fingers whatever you want to do with them
Place in oven for approx 20 mins
    Done!

I love this version its simple, quick and believe it or not its not messy to make with a 4 year old!
