    Hi Sarah,

Strudel or Black Forest cake are german (i think?)

or here is recipie for Apple Sour Cream Cake (which is german)

    Apple Sour Cream cake

    250g butter, softened
    220g (1 cup) caster sugar
    4 eggs
    200g (11/3 cups) plain flour
    110g (3/4 cup) self-raising flour
    300g light sour cream
    3 medium apples, finely chopped
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    Topping
    40g (1/4) cup plain flour
    1 1/3 cup coconut
    50g (1/4 cup) brown sugar
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    60g butter
    1/4 cup flaked almonds

Grease base of 23cm round spring-form tin, line base with greaseproof paper, grease paper. Make topping and refrigerate before preparing cake mixture.
Cream butter and sugar in small bowl with electric mixer, add eggs one at a time, beat until combined. Transfer mixture to large bowl, stir in half the sifted flours with half the sour cream, then stir in remaining flours and sour cream; mix until smooth.
Spread one-third of cake mixture into prepared tin, top with half the apples, sprinkle with half the cinnamon, spread carefully with another third of cake mixture. Top with remaining apple and cinnamon mixture; sprinkle topping evenly over cake.
Bake at 180deg;C for about 1 3/4 hours; cover cake with foil halfway through cooking time to stop topping from over-browning.

Topping: Combine flour, coconut, brown sugar and cinnamon in bowl, rub in butter, press ingredients together; refrigerate until firm. Grate coarsely and add almonds.

Have fun! I'd probably just buy a black forest cake or chocolate bavarian and pass it off as my own - hehehe
