Question need no-egg choc cake recipe please ....

    Hi all,

I just made an egg-free choc cake this arvo to take to my DD's Kinder tomorrow morning but it is not cooking in the middle of the cake and therefore the longer i leave it in the oven it's burning on the outside ... and i'm sure it's largely to the fact that the recipe stated a 22 x30cm tin when my tin is a 20 x 20cm round tin (even though i didn't put all the batter in my tin).

Can any one help please help me with an egg-free chocolate cake recipe that i can put in a 20 x 20cm round cake tin ???

I'm getting desperate here as i don't want my DD to go to Kinder tomorrow morning without a birthday cake (her 3years old Kinder is only one day per week for 2.5hrs so can't take another day) !!

    TIA for any help

If you are worried, what I do is half way through when I notice the outsides are cooking and the middle isn't, I then cover it with foil. A trick I learnt from a home economist

All you need to do is cover the tin with foil. It will steam the centre of the cake. Don't fret pet xxx

I was meant to bake for 40mins ... has so far been in an extra 15mins and i have just put some foil over it as you suggested

... sad thing is it looks absolutely fantastic (beautifully high) but i can't see it but can smell that it's burning (maybe underneath or/and sides)

P.S - to give a hint your egg-free choc cake recipe was a huge success with the Kinder kids (i sandwiched TWO cakes together)
