    Recipe for a fruit flan?

Does anyone have a recipe for a simple, delicious fruit flan with custard?
I'm thinking of making one for christmas dessert.

Has to be easy on time more than anything, especially with DS

    Bumping back up...

Any opinions on getting a nice thick custard (Pauls? I think? in the purple container) pouring it into a tart case and topping with fruit and then heating up some apricot jam to spread over the top or even passionfruit?

You can buy sponge flan bases already done (or as you say go the one you can bake!) DEFINITELY go the pauls custard, but you might need to heat it up first as its quite thick, then let it set again before topping with fruit. Apricot jam is a great idea. Thats exactly how I would do it.

For an extra yummy custard tart you can add some whipped cream to the custard and mix in, kinda like a creme anglaise taste

    Thanks Cai
I thought it might be a bit of a cheats way to do it. Will have to try a couple of versions out first I think
Love the idea of the whipped cream too...will try that one as well

We made one on the weekend and added the whipped cream to the custard. DH loved it, DD thought it was just a little too sweet. We are going to try one with just the custard. Might do it this weekend.
