Wasn't too sure where to put this but sweets, desserts section will do!
I'm actually after a 'healthy version' of bliss balls.... you know those yummy things covered in coconut you find in the health stores for $3 a ball? They're a bit exxy to buy but so yummy to eat!
I am looking for great recipes to try them! Something with like coconut, sultanas, nuts, & no sugar in them but instead a sugar alternative like stivia or agave nectar! I have a recipe at the moment that turned out OK but looking for a better one.
Hmm not sure its what you Are after but these are awesome (and not bad for you). My who,e fame loves them...
Use a food processor
Blend 300g raw almonds to fine (I sometimes use mix almonds and sunflower seeds)
Add 1 or 2 tbl pure cocoa
Add 16 fresh dates
Add 1 tsp vanilla
Blend to smooth (may add some water if need to)
RoLl into balls and roll in coconut
Store on fridge
( can also add protein powder if that way inclined)
Yummo
1 cup of dates pitted and roughly chopped
1 cup dried apricots roughly chopped (i use organic much nicer)
2 tablespoons sunflower seeds
1 tbls pumpkin seeds
1 tbls desiccated coconut
2 tbls carob OR cocoa powder
Put in the food processor until it comes together in a ball, sometime I drizzle a tiny bit of maple syrup (much better for you then artificial sweetners) if it is not coming together this helps bring it together.
Roll into balls and roll them in coconut (you will need about a cup)
Makes about 20 balls, taste AWESOME!!!! I have also added sesame seeds, and other nuts when I didn't have all ingredients, raw cacoa powder is yummy here too instead of cocoa or carob, up to you!
oh shanti, sorry for the lack of reply I keep forgetting to check where I have posted I am still not getting notifications.... I think you can only use a food processor for the recipe I shared with you.... but if you get a processor you can make hommous and pesto and heaps of things!!!!
