    Snow Cones

I've search and search and search the net trying to find somewhere that doesn't look dodgy to buy snow cone syrup with no luck!

Anyone know of somewhere or know how to make it? The only recipes I can find use "kool aid".

And normal cordial just doesn't seem to work, maybe the new cottees concentrate would?

Any ideas please? I really want to take our ice shaver to mums for Christmas/NYE!

I can help but i'll have to get back tomorrow. I'm a 3rd generation carnie and we have food vans that sell snow cones. I'm not exactly sure what dad uses atm but when we were little he ued to make his own and i remember being allowed to be the taste tester of the syrup! Anyway, i'm seeing him tonight so i will ask and get back to you

I'm no help with the syrup but I do have a sneaky cheater way to do it. You might have to phone your mum in advance so she can organize it though.
Instead of shaving regular ice cubes then adding syrup, make up cordial and pour that into your ice cube trays. We used to do that as kids cos we found it tasted better and you don't get a big melted patch where you poured the syrup on. Another cheater way is to buy zooper doopers and shave them, this way is a tad more expensive then cordial ice cubes though.

    Thanks for the help ladies!

Never thought of mixing it then freezing it together, might do a test run before Christmas.
