    Question Advice anyone???

I got my period on the 23rd very light (after my heavy bleeding approx 4 weeks before due to my m/c) my hcg levels were still too high for me to ovulate so that?s why I thought my period was only very light and no pain (like usual) anyway today is the 6th October and I?m still bleeding very lightly sometimes, brownish sometimes redish and sometimes blackish. My doc said that was ok as long as it didn?t smell funny then it could be an infection, but its been 2 weeks now of this and I?m sick of it, I?ve been charting this month and my levels should be back to normal by now as 2 weeks ago it was at 260. I?m hoping to ovulate this week on the 11th but not sure if I will with this damn bleeding causing all sorts of confusion. My temps are up and down, one day its 36.6 then the next day it drops and its 36.05 my chart looks like I?ve drawn zigzags all over it. I?ve got appt with doc again on Thursday she will probably think Im a hypochondriac! My 1st Ob/gyno appt is not til the 28th and I didn?t think I could hold out til then. Has anyone had a similar thing, advice?

    Hi mannie,
after your m/c did you have a d&c?
i i had a m/c in june this year and was not given a d&c was told i had a complete m/c and baby was gone my preg hormone was droping rapidly. i was bleeding for 38 days before repeat BT was done and showed that my preg hormone had almost tripled and u/s showed that there was stuff in my uterus they think that when i had the m/c i was actually preg with twins and that one was an ectopic and that bleeding for so long the embryo then fell in to my uterus but was not viable.
dr then told me that i would need a D&C to remove the "products of conception" as they put it. once the d&c was done i only bleed for a few days and it was very light.
i felt so much better after the d&c it gave me closure as before the d&c it was a constant reminder of the m/c and was emotionally very difficult.
i feel that after m/c regardless of how far we are d&c should always be given.
so the only advice i can offer you is to get a BT to check your pregnancy hormone to make sure your levels are going down.
i hope i havnt scared you with my story.
good luck with your journey and hope all goes well please keep me up to date with whats happening.

    HI Rachel,

No I didn't have a D&C, I was supposed to have one but my levels had gone up so they thought I might have had an ectopic, to this day Im still not sure whether it was ectopic and just m/c naturally or if I had a chemical pregnancy and m/c occurred not long after conception...anyway I did miscarry naturally I bled heavily with some pain for about 2 weeks all up. then nothing for 4 weeks then my period came. My levels had dropped, they were 1600 just before I started bleeding heavily and then 2 weeks ago they were at 260 so they were dropping, doc wasn't worried. It sure is confusing hey when you don't know what your body is doing. I think I should've had the d&c maybe I should ask for one??. Will let you know how I go, regardless we are still going to try later on this week because I should ovulate, fingers crossed that I do...thanks for the advice and so sorry for your loss.

They never told me what exactly caused my mc either. I had a natural mc too and bled for almost 5 weeks then actually got my period about 2 weeks later. They don't really give you much of a choice, especially going through my first mc I didn't know what to do. If I could go back a d&c would have been best instead of being reminded of this everyday for 5 weeks.

    Hi mannie and Mrs.B,

Mannie: Good luck this week, i have my fingers and toes corossed for you that ovulate. praying you get a BFP soon.
Hopefully your body will reurn to normal and stop being so confusing.

Mrs.B: i know how you feel i was never told what caused my m/c and this was also my first. i was an emotional wreck at the time and didn't even think of asking for a d&c, my mother in law and fiance were with me and my mother inlaw asked for a d&c but the hospital refused stating they didnt feel i needed one and would be ok as i was only 6wks. in total i bleed for 45 days. i think its discusting that they can let us go through this it like rubbing salt into an open wound.
Mrs.B are to ttc again now?

Im going to start back on the clomid (2tablets 100mg) on thursday and im praying that this will work.

well my 2 friends goodluck ttc and may we all be blessed with a beautiful healthy baby soon.

    talk tou both soon.

Rachel - goodluck with the clomid Im sure it will def help and it won't be long before your preggers!! I'll be praying for you....

I'm still spotting and have not yet ovulated this cylce!! its sooo frustrating, I even bought a OPK kit and tested myself on thurs and got a negative result, i've also been using maybe baby, and its negative too however I know that its not that reliable! I can't check my CM because im spotting so I can't see anything other than the spotting. I suppose I just have to be patient.

Mrs B - hope your ok too and not thinking too much about ttcing......only 3 more weeks til end of the month and then you can begin again. Lets pray that 2009 brings us all healthy beautiful babies!

    Hi girls,
Just wanted to say hi before I head off to bed...
Rachel, good luck with the clomid, and I'll keep you in my prayers as well
Mannie- Sorry you haven't ovulated yet, it's so hard to just sit and be patient. I used the first response OPK and it did predict my ovulation, wasnt hard to read or anything, and not too pricey. idk if maybe you want to try a dif brand once you stop spotting. Good luck!

Amen! To the Let's pray that 2009 brings us all healthy babies!

    Hi girls,

Just been reading your posts, you all now seem very set on having d&c's after a miscarriage.
I just read that the reason why doctors prefer the natural way is that a d&c MIGHT cause scarring to the uterus tissue. So therefore they try and avoid to give you one.
Chances of scarring are very low, but they are there and that COULD mean that you would have more difficulty conceiving.
As I said, chances are very low, but still.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi bbwish,
Well yea I understand that there could be possible side effects with a d&c, but as a young girl going through this for the first time and not even knowing what the hell a D&C is... well I didnt know what to do. All I kept thinking was How long is this going to be? How painful is this going to be? And Im going to have to watch my baby come out of me? The Doctors assured me that it would be like a normal period and if I had any pain to take a tylenol. WELL, it was not that easy at all. I was in excruciating pain, had to be taken to the ER 4 times in 3 weeks, I was on morphene and it still didnt ease the pain, there was so much blood that even my kidneys got infected, I had to watch my baby come out of me.. I saw everything.. Its been almost a year and I can still remember all of it like it was yesterday.

Nothing against your opinion at all, but in my case I would risk some scarring compared to the emotional scarring this has done to me.

    Mrs. B.

Wow, what a horrible experience! Yes I agree, in some cases a D&C is much preferred! Of course it various from person to person, but I do think, in "normal" circumstances a natural miscarriage is better. I think it helps with the healing process. But everyone to his/her own of course!
