Anyone pregnant before first AF after M/C?

I'm wondering if anyone has conceived after a m/c (or d&c), but before the first AF?

I had my d&c 26 days ago. A blood test 6 days ago indicated hcg was less than 2 (so negative after dropping from 5000ish to 8 the week after the d&c). The dr also said it "looks like you're about to release an egg" and this would match with my CM which at the time was increasingly becoming clear, stretchy. Also had what felt like O pain and mild cramping. We BD over the weekend only once, and not before the blood test as i hadn't been emotionally ready.

I don't know if its an old wives tale or not but it came up in google about being more fertile after a m/c. But no actual scientific evidence. Unfortunately i did read a lot of women going on to m/c again and about the lining being too thin from the d&c to sustain a pregnancy so soon. But my Dr said it was fine to ttc, or not use contraception.

So i'd love to hear from anyone who's fallen pregnant straight after a m/c and gone on to have a baby, or i guess if you had another m/c that would be helpful to know.

Yep. Twice! As my mc's were both early they basically became my period as such and I conceived after each one.

Oh and I should say went on to have 2 healthy pregnancies. Hth.

It can go either way, just like any other pregnancy. We decided to TTC in our d&c cycle (hadn't been told one way or the other by our OB).

I certainly haven't been more fertile (still TTC 8 months later), but hopefully you'll have better luck than me.

I conceived my DS1 after a m/c but before the next AF.

I thought about this too but we decided to wait for 1 period. People did tell me they had succesfully got their bfp before their next period. Good luck with it all hope you get your bfp soon.

My DD was conceived 17 days after my 3rd miscarriage and before first AF..

on some of the other forums i'm apart of, it certaintly does seem that after a m/c you're at your most fertile time, SO many have gotten BFPs it's amazing. my GP told us that the first 3 months after a m/c are your most fertile times. maybe because of the hormone levels? i have no idea. but i hope you get your BFP soon

I'm 27 days post D&C, and I'm positive i've just ovulated. Fingers crossed!

your cycles may or may not be very screwy for awhile after a miscarry/D&C. after my m/c my cycle was 41 days , i ovulated on CD 33, and only had a luteal phase of 8 days, then AF showed for 4 days. now i'm on CD 9, and hoping my cycle gets a little more regular

hmm i'm really torn between going to get another blood test to see where i am in my "cycle". She said it did look like i was about to release an egg last week, and i'm sure i just have... but the down side is i will just obsess about it more... the benefit is finding out early and taking progesterone again if i need too in case it helps it stick... but then the other part of me just wants a break from the diligene iykwim?

what would you do? would you just wait and let it happen? or diligently try to follow what is happening? I'm not sure i can win either way...

do you chart? charting really helped me understand my cycle after my m/c, if you take a look at my chart (last months), you will see on CD 22 i had a big O dip (temp drop) and also i had watery/EWCM, i really thought i O'd then, but i did lots of research and i think my body was trying to O, but it was delayed, and i read stress/worrying can delay O.

so i was kind-of in the same boat as you, i decided to just wait it out, and i knew my body would do it's thing whenever it was ready. but the choice is totally up to you hun, it might be beneficial for you to get some bloods done, like you said then if you need to take progesterone you can start early.

Yes i did fall pregnant straight away after a natural miscarriage. cycle was the same. sadly I also lost that baby too. I then left it two cycles before falling pregnant again when I was emotionally ready for it again.

I've charted since ttc my oldest child (7 years) but I haven't temped since the m/c, just been watching my CM. I also have PCOS, my CM has always been reliable even when nothing else was. But I know what you mean, the m/c has probably thrown things out of whack.

Not me! I had my 2nd D&C this year back at the end of May and only got my first AF 3 months later, this is the first month we are able to ttc since!!! Wishing you luck for a sticky one.

I found out at my 12 week ultrasound that our baby had died some time before but my body wouldn't give it up. Missed miscarriage, it's called...
I had a D&C and we decided to wait a cycle before trying for another baby and only had sex ONCE.
At exactly 6 weeks after the D&C, I got a BFP. I was very shocked!!
I went on to have a very healthy baby girl...
