How long did it take for AF to come back after a D&C

Hi,

I know it's a bit early days, only just had my D&C yesterday, but was just wondering when your AF came back after a D&C. And did this mean your cycles were back on track straight away as well? I don't know if it also makes a difference how far pregnant you were. I was 11 weeks and bub measured less than 9 when it passed away.

I am so sorry for your loss.

My d & c was at 12 weeks and AF came back after just four weeks. I feel after two cycles. I had one off so really I feel again first try. So 10weeks after my dc if that makes sense.

Pretty much identical to Tegam. AF spot on 28 days post D&C. Fell pregnant next cycle.

My sister had a D&C for retained placenta after losing my niece at 20w.
She got her period back at about 6 weeks afterwards, I'm pretty sure.

28 days, and then my cycle was the most perfect it's ever been. Which felt wasteful, as we couldn't TTc again for 6 months, and by then it was kinda weird again.

Oh, and that first AF was pretty hefty and nasty. Just another of nature's cruel blows.

It sucks. I hope you heal well, in heart and body.

I'm sorry again for your loss hun. After my d & c, I got my AF 5.5 weeks later. I was told to skip the next cycle to get my body back on track, and so my next AF after that was 30 days later so pretty much back to normal now.

I had a d&c at 11wks (bub measuring 8wks) and AF returned 5 weeks later. I O'd a little late and had a slightly short LP, but I was still BF at the time (1 feed/day) so that could have contributed too. We resumed TTC straight away, but still haven't gotten another BFP...

I've been getting some weirdness with my cycles since the d&c (delay between +opk and BBT rise) which I think I need to speak to my Dr about. I never had that happen before the d&c.

Im so sorry your little one couldnt stay We were TTC for 5 years and fell that resulted in miscarriage and a D&C, period back about 30 days later and I fell pregnant again (naturally after 4 years of IVF) the next month. Best of luck, hun

So sorry bub couldn't stay.
Mine stayed on cycle - so I was half way through my cycle when I had the D&C and af arrived 2 weeks later. It wasn't as heavy though obvioulsy there wasn't as much in there to shed. However mine was not through a loss but part of treatment - so perhaps that will make a difference.

For me similar to the PPs. I had mine the day after my bub passed at 12w2d. Cycle was back 4 weeks later. Fell the next cycle.

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences and stories... I'm sorry to hear about your losses too. I'm glad though to see there is hope after a m/c as most of you have had your little miracles after or are waiting for them !
I did have a D&C last year as part of fertility treatment and I think my AF was bang on after that, but of course I didn't have any HCG to deal with.

I didn't get AF after my D&C (I was 12 weeks with bubs measuring 10) because exactly 6 weeks later I got a BFP after having had very suspicious symptoms... We DTD once. My OB suspected I O'ed 4 weeks after the D&C and ultrasounds backed that up.
At 6 weeks post procedure, I was 4 weeks UTD.

It was hard. Grieving for my loss, being excited for the new bubs and stressing it was going to end the same way... But 9 mths later I gave birth to the most amazing baby girl... I wouldn't have changed any of it even though it was a rollercoaster...
