Hi - I just wanted to add that you actually need to be careful after having a D&C that you allow enough time to heal etc as you can catch infections. Your hospital or dr should have told you that you are meant to avoid sex for a couple of weeks for this reason. I would hate to think you got sick from trying to soon.
-
the OB and surgeon said it was fine cos my D&C was very simple and no tears or complications arose. he said it was fine so i aint worried at all. cos the placental tissue had already started to come away and heal underneath and that meant my D&C was simple enuf that he said it was healed enuf to not worry my head over it :)
-
Sorry Teen, I'm actually going to agree with Katiegirl about waiting at least two weeks after your D&C to have sex. My D&C was completely complication free as well. The reason you should wait is not usually because of possible tears, it's because your surgeon has manually opened your cervix to do the D&C and until your cervix gets back to it's normal size you are at a much higher risk of getting an infected uterus. I totally understand how much you want to start TTC again because I too wanted to start straight away, but if you are unlucky and get an infected uterus it can be really bad. I had a friend that had an infected uterus and she ended up in hospital on 3 different broad spectrum IV antibiotics for days. Her life was in the balance... Plus she's not going to know if it has effected her fertility until she tries to conceive.
I promise I'm not trying to scare you, but I would hate to see anything bad happen to you sweetie. We all want our little bubbas so badly and I know you want yours too.
-
Teen: I don't know much about d&c's as I was told to wait 3 months after having my placenta removed manually and having a rubella shot. But I always tend to err on the side of caution.
Jen: Sorry, hon, went to bed early last night for a change!! Yeah, hubby and I are both musicians (thus the night-owl tendencies). Keeps us busy, which is always fun!!
AFM: I still seem to have ewcm!! Is that normal??
-
but why would the dr say it was fine if it was not??
he wouldnt. 2 drs said it was ok and theyre specialists in obstertrics, gynaecology and maternal care..... if i were to get sick they'd get the blame. so why risk tellin me its ok?? it dont make sense. and i had a checkup this mornin.... so far he aint worried n hasnt changed his mind? and he said my cervix is almost back to normal and already feveloping mucous as a barrier. he said thats normal and that i hav nothoing to worry about???
the surgeon has been practicing for 32yrs and the OB 35yrs?? they cant b wrong can they????
-
I'm not sure why your drs would say that it's ok. I'm glad that your body seems to be healing well and getting back to normal.
Here is a link to some D&C Aftercare Guidelines that might help you.

Hi Ladies,
I have been very busy the last few days so have not been on since Wed !!!! So much has happened !!
Joey - your chart looks good... as hard as it will be, try not to focus on every little thing happening in your body... I did that last month and it did my head in and when I got the BFN i was devastated. I know how hard this is though to not do it
Tutmae - your comments made me LOL, gees what an interesting bed.. sound like you might wear it out quickly the way you are going
WTH - great results... can you explan P4 and E2??? certaily have head of HCG
Welcome to teen and chappas - I hope your time here is short.
AFM - I am confused - I think I have finally ovulated today or yesterday. I have been using the OPK's but the results have been quite faint. (Wed - definate negative, Thurs, very faint, Friday a little darker, This morning, a little darker again but less than the control line) I also have noticed the cervix is high and soft however I am sitting on watery CM and it does not seem to be turning to EWCM??? Who knows... DH and I have been :bd::bd: every night since Wed just in case.... we actually both want a rest now..... Dh commented this morning that he thought he was just shooting dust , poor love.
I also got a temp spike this morning so will just see how it goes over the coming days
The upside to Ov late is the LP is only 11 days for me so I can test soon.
Here's :pink-babydust::stickyvibesboy::stickyvibesgirl: for you all
-
Easha - Your temp increase this morning is looking great! My guess would be that you ovulated yesterday, but don't take my word for it, lol. Hopefully your temp will keep going up tomorrow.
I know what you mean about our poor DH's. I'm still amazed that we are able to wear out the men considering that before TTC'ing they seem to want it more then us, lol. Well, that's how it was for me anyway hehehe.
-
hoey/joey--You crack me up! Had to laugh when you said you told DH you were in the TWW, and now he understands! I'm laughing with you not at you, I promise--it just sounded so cute! I knew you were asleep, btw, I just figured you were still gabbing away! I woke myself up singing in my sleep before! lol... Oh, happy soon to be b-day! You sound just like me--first of all, I love it when they let you "go buy what you want" that's the best! And, of course, I only ever want clothes, as well--but then when you have the money, there's nothing you want to buy! My clothes are pretty conservative--I'm a jeans and t-shirt kinda gal, too!
tutmae--I had 6 days in a row of watery CM, so I don't think it's unusual... unless I'm a freak of nature, then you're sh*t outta luck!
Easha--I never get EWCM, only watery. I would say as long as your cervix is high and open, and you've got the fertile CM, then don't stop BD'ing!! Tell DH shooting dust is for cowboys, and he can be a cowboy next week! lol... Nice temp spike, btw!!
Katiegirl--I read that you're going to Joshua's funeral on Monday. It's so tragic... please pass on my condolences to Mel, give her big  I've never met her, and can't even begin to imagine what she's going through with the loss of another child. :( Please let her know she's in my thoughts and prayers. I'm sure it won't be easy for you to be there, you're a great friend for being there for Mel, but look after yourself, too! Lots of bellyrubs! Love hearing about those baby kicks--enjoy them, I'm sure she'll be kicking at DH in no time!
teen--I wish I had some advice for you... I m/c naturally my last 3 m/c's. I did have a D & C when I had my blighted ovum, back in '95, but honestly don't really remember how long it was that I waited, though I know I bled, so wasn't even thinking about TTC after just a few days. I have to be honest, though, and say I'm more surprised that, due to your age, your doctors aren't trying to get you to give it a little more time. Especially since I m/c naturally and my dr. told me to wait 2 cycles, and told me that if we had sex, to wear a condom! In most cases when you m/c naturally, there's no medical reason as to why you have to wait, other than to maybe help with the lining--but I think it's different when you have a D & C. And in my case with my m/c, I thought I was 13 weeks along, but the baby died at 8 wks, so it took 5 weeks for my body to realize anything was wrong--even after the baby being gone for so long, it took 5 wks. for my hcg to come down, and dr. STILL said to wait 2 months. I don't know what else to say, other than it's up to you--but when you joined this thread, you joined a bunch of girls that truly care about what happens to each other--we're just looking out for you, so please don't be offended! Sending lots of hugs...
-
:hello: Krystie!! Hope you're enjoying your weekend! I didn't get me any Will today--will have to wait till it goes to the drive-in or comes out on video! I do want to see Han****, though!
-
the reason i went with those 2 drs is cos they hav the experience and qualifications in all the necessary areas.......
n i dont wanna worry cos he said it was totally okay and that COS i was young my body was healing real quick. on his 1st obs after the procedure he said my cervix was already closing on its own??
-
Jen - Woohoo! I get a post all of my own!! I'm sure it's because I'm special and not because you ran out of smilies ;)
Do you think it's coincidence that a movie with Will Smith in it has the word "****" in the title? I think not
I just cleaned my computer desk and couldn't believe how much dust had accumulated over time and that I hadn't noticed despite sitting at the desk allllll the time! I also cleaned my monitor and now I can READ the posts!!! Almost had to turn down the brightness of the screen hehe.
-
Krystie--Nope, only used 5 smilies on that post--you're just special! :) (my kids would all chime in and say special ed, but not me!) I found my computer desk yesterday and dusted it, it was pretty bad--it's all BB's fault!
-
Tutmae - How long have you had EWCM? My book says you can have it in one mass or for a couple of days. Are you sure it is definately EWCM? I had a CM that I thought was EW, until I got the real EW and it truely is just like a cracked raw egg without the yolk. I was amazed when I saw it for the first time, and if I hadn't been reading all this stuff and trying to fall preg, I probably would have freiked!! May be google it??
Easha - Thanks for your suggestions - will try not to obsess too much!!
Also, not everyone gets EWCM. Perhaps you won't get it this month, or perhaps it was a small amount and you passed it at a time you weren't checking. Wet is still good for the little :sperm:. Glad to hear your temp has risen  I'm with KL, I think your ovulation date was yesterday.
Jen - singing in your sleep. Now that's impressive!! Were you in tune? Was DH dancing? Seems a lot of us are jeans and t-shirt girls. Let's make a new club: we now have the nana's club (I have to be president of this one, I'm the biggest nana out!) and now there's the J&T (jean's and t-shirt).
We're going to see Han**** tonight!!! If DH doesn't change his mind :wall: When you first said you didn't get any Will, I thought you meant Willie!!
Take care girls,
:grouphug:
BRING ON NEXT WEEKEND (end of 2WW)
Lots of :pink-babydust: :bluedust: :pink-babydust: I did have more here, but they made me take some away. ohhhh
-
Easha: My bed is now stable. Makes a very nice change, and bding a lot less dangerous!!
Jen & Joey: I had the cracked raw egg thing 2 days ago (first time I had noticed it- it was ca-razy) and today it's turned into more of the snot-like consistency (how delightful) that I seem to have had all cycle since Lilah. No pain or odor, so I'm not too concerned. But I can't help but worry that it's a sign that I'm infertile or something. Oh the worrysome brain of mine!!
Teen: If you trust your doctors, then I'd follow their advice, the gals here just like to watch out for eachother, is all! Do what you feel comfortable with!! :)
AFM: The bloating seems to have settled a bit, as have the lower back pains and little pinches. Not stopping the bd train yet though!! If I have or haven't o'd I'm not gonna miss any chance to catch the little eggy!! Off to a gig tonight that DH is playing at and is very very excited about. Should be fun and keep my mind off TCC for a bit. What am I saying? Like my mind is EVER off TCC!!
-
Tutmae,
Glad to hear you now have a stable bed!!
I like your CM description 'snot'. Hmmm ... can't say I've experienced that one. Are you charting? Glad to hear I'm not the only one who has had their mind hijected by the TTC monster!!
Take care

-
Hey! It's the best description I could think of. And the most disgusting unfortunately!! Not charting, just keeping a mental record.... I dont wake up at a regular time everyday, so taking temps is kinda out of the question. :(
-
oh. Oh well. It's good that you can keep mental track of it.
Jen,
Went and saw Han**** tonight. REALLY GOOD!!
 to everyone
