Trying to Conceive After Miscarriage or Loss Jan/Feb 2010

crafty - she said that my lining probably wanst all coming out each cycle so even if the sperm does meet the egg, if would probably just attach to this crappy old black stuff and come away. makes total sense. and if we did get a BFP, her thoughts are that we would prob lose again as the baby wouldnt implant properly nor attach. she reckons that she can fix my ccyle and get me to have a good bleed to gt the linming all nice and fluffy. she said she thinks i will be an easy case to fix but my body has been thru a lot and i need to allow it and her time to fix! I hope she is right!!! hope this helps - let me know if you would like to know anymore xx

AFM I had af for 4 days.. that is pretty much normal for me even though at times she might be irregular on the time she comes..
DF is doing his sperm testing in morning and doc will get results back tomorrow
so i got to call and get back in to see what she says about them..
I hope its all good.. and if it is then she will work with me and see what is going on why it took so long to conceive..
but in 9 days im jumping on the bike..LOL

Hi Anita - Thanks for asking about me sweety...i am here only. And little upset about the fact that, my cycles have gone out of control and i used the digital OPK this month, last month, before that i used normal OPK's (Manual one's) to detect the LH surge, but failed to see one and that made me realise that after my m/c in Aug and D&C procedure, i think i have stopped ovulating or its happening too soon or too late and cycles are either long and short. And my GP did the referral to Gyne 2 weeks ago and i am still waiting on that (after pushing her to do one), she was like i think you are too desperate to fall pregnant, you shld wait...but i had to convince her to refer me...
and in the mean time i searched few specialist in nearby suburbs and decided to book a Gynecologist asap and get a proper check-up of my body, and this thing is stressing me out....so I am going for 2nd opinion and my DH said that i told you its a good idea to see a Dr than to avoid but you never listened.
I am just not in right frame of mind....

Finally AF arrived for you, hope the sperm testing results come good. and all the best for BD....next week i suppose.

Ferals- firstly it is nice to see you around even if it is only for a little bit.. and Please dont give up hope. this TTCAM stuff is hard and it isnt fair and there isnt anything in my life that i have done that is harder emotinoaly well aprt from saying goodbye to Kyarna. But in saying that if you think that you have had it, if you feel truely that this is it you are going to stop, of course we would all support you in that too. i guess that didnt come out right but i hope you know what i mean.

Murraycod- how you going chick? hows you DP? when do you go backt o FS? i am thinking of you chicky!

Ric- i cant believe that your DR told you that you were too desperate. I hate that people can say the most insensitive things at a time like this and think it is ok... but in saying that i am glad that there are people out there who can say them with out knowing how it feels, cause i wouldnt wish this desperate TTC on anyone. TTCALC- Good luck with the sperm testing, i ho;pe everything is all good and you can get on with the BD'ing !!!

Thopes- that does sound right about your lining, but waiting sucks all the same. I hope it all gets sorted quickly for you!!!

Sarahrach- charting sounds like a good idea, but i really think the Drs have enough tools to date pregnancies now so it should be all good even if you cant chart iykwim. Would be great if you dont even get to see AF for awhile!!!

Craftymum- i am sure the Dr wouldnt say that to you... they might think it tho ROFL but we all know better.!!! No one knows your body better than you and if you think you have it in you that is all that matters!!! Good luck may have a surprise BFP in a week or so!

SPF- Im pretty sure you should be right... think about all thoes people that horse ride and 4X drive before they even know and even after they know that they are pregnant... maybe all thoes bumps might have stuck the bubba in further lol

Mathews mum= sorry a bit out the loop here but what is going on with you chick? you have to have tests or something? i dont know anything about IVF and stuff... i hope you are doing ok tho

everyone else who i know i have missed i am so sorry but i have to run, DS finishes school soon.

AFM- nothing much to report AF is over and done with thank god she was a shocker this month... i guess it was thoes 5 extra days of bbuilt up lining lol butabout a weekish till O i think we are just going to go for it every 2nd night till AF shows up or i get a BFP i just cant handle this timing, testing and seeing 10,000 BFN i cant do it anymore... the whole thing is getting to me. i should be sitting here thinking about all the things i have forgotten for bub and arranging things for when i am in hospital but instead i am here trying wilth all my heart not to loose it, not to go insane and just run away from it all and trying so desperatly to get pregnant. My C section had been booked in for the 22nd of this month... 3 weeks today i should have been holding Kyarna instead i held her 4 months ago, so tiny and still and in 3 weeks i will be testing to see if by some miracle i could be pregnant... i dont think i can take it all...

Ferrals sorry you got a BFN it sucks and I know what you mean about not being able to carry on I feel the same you feel if your life is on hold all the time waiting for O day then testing day, Bdancing whether you want to or not because you think its the right time and you don't want to miss the right day if its not so you bdance as much as you can, it really sucks and I also feel as if I can't carry on so you are not alone !

I hope everyone else is feeling more positive than me, I feel that my time is coming to an end and I must accept defeat ! should be 35wks pg but instead counting the days every month its no fun at all is it ladies you all know what I mean !

I have to be quick as I'm waiting for a client any minute but I just wanted to let you know my Hcg has gone from 19 to 40 so although it is still low it has doubled in 72 hours the way it is supposed to. :dance: Have another test on friday (or earlier if I can't wait that long).

Sweety, you have had the grestest gift of having healthy babies before, so why not this time??? Honey, if you had of suffered the greif of loosing your little angel before you had your healthy children, would you have given up then?? No way, it isn't in you to give up, so don't loose that strength I admire in you so much now, I just won't sit by and let you.
I fully understand the aprehension you have, of going through your greif all over again, but you just can't let the unknown stop you at anything. And if you do fall, we will be here to catch you, pick you up and give you strength again and again if that is what it takes for you to have a healthy happy pregnancy with your Darling new Husband.
I also understand that nature plays such a big role, in what we as 'mothers' are trying so desperately hard to acheive, and sometimes mother nature takes it upon herself to take something away from us we have so desperately loved and tried so very hard for, but she can also give, and my darling please focus on succeeding.
But I want you to understand this, everybody here, I, We are here for you every step of the way, so take some strength from us, and go for it. Yes you have everything to loose, but also everything to gain, I promise XXXXX

Rock out Murraycod :) I completely agree though, I dont think any of us should ever regret hope, we hope at O time that we caught the egg, and we hope at the end of the TWW that we get a BFP, if it happens we hope everythings ok, we dream our dreams and we talk about our fears, if we lose, we lose, but those dreams were real, and we should never regret the time spent dreaming about our babies, the ones we've lost, the one's we have and the one's we dearly dearly hope for. I wont ever regret the hours I spent talking to my baby (we'd nicknamed him Splat) and the dreams I had, it was worth it. And I'll do it again. My life at the moment is built on fear and hope, but the hope is nicer :)

AFM thanks everyone for your advice and for telling me about your experiences heading into the first TTC cycle after mc, it really helped :) DH is feeling more positive about the whole thing and I'm going to TRY and not give too much info. So everyone on here be prepared for waaayy too much info, lol. There's not much to report at the moment though, on day 4 (woop!) and doing well, pretty average AF. Driving to bris tomorrow in all this rain, so not looking forward to that!

It makes me so sad to know that there are so many of us in here. And it is also so sad how many people have lost their little babies. When I tell people I have had a miscarriage, so many stories are coming out about their losses as well. it's frightening how many people are living with this and not talking about it, that's why I feel so lucky to have found this thread, so much love and support in here. What a wonderful bunch of lovely women you all are! I wish that you could all be pregnant this cycle and all have lovely happy and healthy pregnancies and get to hold a beautiful little baby in your arms.

Well, finally my bleeding has stopped! Finally! I suspect that the past week has actually been my period, but there was no break in the bleeding and no real way to tell, so I can only go on my hunch. So I might actually be on CD8, which would be exciting. I was bleeding for all of January except for Jan 1.

Hi Kirsten.. well written.. I completely agree with everything you've said... it really is scary how many people don't talk about m/c.. and I hate it. I'm so open about everything for that reason. See this is why i have trouble staying away you girls go and be all logical and say the right things i tried another forum and it's just not the same i tried to stay away altogether and have a break because i needed it but that didnt work i have been a bit down since i got back from hoildays i noticed i have over 500 post's and was thinking back to all the wasted waiting i have gone through we lost Abbi in march and had to wait until june for all the test results then we had to wait until november for our ivf then after that nightmare we have had to wait for my cycle to get back to normal and then got a BFN it is now February and next month on the 20th is Abbi's birthday one year since we lost her time is just getting away from me so i keep popping in to check up on you girls to reasure myself that i am not alone it helps.

Mummyof4-read what you wrote i understand completely it isnt fair is it.

Craftmummy-time might be an issue for you and maybe other women here but you were pregnant not that long ago that is a good sign you still are fertile don't give up just yet.

Mathewsmum-i have a month until my naturopath appt i am looking forward to it and good to here your FS is going to get things moving for you sooner rather than later.

I know what you mean Kirsten, when I told MIL that we'd had an early MC she told me she'd had one also. Its amazing to hear things like that, and to see how much the memory still affects her.

t-hopes - Af for me after our m/c lasted for over 2 weeks and threw my cycle right out of wack. But have af again now and will be trying icsi next cycle. I was hoping that af wouldn't arrive as we tried naturally but that didn't work (although was fun trying). I wanted to go again straight away and my fs said ok but have switched fs and so have to wait till next cycle. That is all we seem to do is wait for one thing or another. But at the end of the day when we finally get that BFP it won't matter. I love what you said about looking at the big picture. It is just so hard when each month we want the two lines.

kitfaerie - Good luck this cycle and praying for a librian baby for you. My DP is the same. He tends to be happy with what ever I want to do as long as I am ok. He would be happy with just the one we have and would be thrilled to have another so he said he will do what ever I want as long as I am ok.

kellym - I have read quite a bit on here about just needing low dose asprin. How good would that be if that is all it took. Good luck.

mummyof4- I am sorry you are feeling down. One of my best friends is pregnant now. We would of been having our babies one day apart from eachother. I am so happy for her but stil have moments of where i feel angry and disappointed that I am not having my 12 week scan and the rest of the pregnancy with her. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I pray that you get your bfp this month.

Jilly: it's annoying when you feel like you're just waiting and waiting for the next cycle the next af, the next O...and then you have to wait for the next FS and the next and the next and the next...such a long road sometimes isn't it?

Matthew's Mum: that story about the elderly woman remembering her loss, so sad, I can't imagine it is something that ever leaves you.

Sarahrach: I had that issue too, you just think that the bleeding is all over and a fresh round comes upon you...

Kirsten: goodness, I'm scared stiff of BD, cause what if it sticks and then what happens if I lose it again. Well that's my headspace at the moment - not going to stop me though.

Jilly: my thoughts exactly with the dating. Charting is making me feel a bit more in control though, and that is working for me!

Ferrals...(sigh) so glad you decided to come back, your such a good friend to me, and even though we kept in touch, I missed having you here X

Instead of my follow up appt on 17th Feb, it's TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I phoned up FS yesterday to confirm our appt, and they had a cancellaton!! Woot Woot!!
Tomorrow's appt suited us better because of the rain we are getting this week, can't pick grapes in the rain!
I know FS will try to persuade us not to thaw only one blasty, but it will be falling on deaf ears, what the heck, go for it I say, and if things don't work out, we can Stim Cycle again in April/May.
Some girls I know are lucky to even get to a blasty stage, let alone get one in the deep freeze, so we are just going to chance it.

I got AF on Saturday avo, light at first, but by golly gosh since Sunday night, I have never gone through so many pads.....sorry yuck..... major cramping finally settled thismorning.
I still remember what it felt like when I M/C naturally, and this was so similar.

Murrycod-goodluck with your appt you know what you want so go in there and tell them what the next step will be you are paying for their service so don't let them talk you into somthing if you know you want to try with harvey 2 first.

AF was due yesterday i wish she would show up already so i can start useing my new bute fertility monitor i have my appt with Catherine chan on march the 1st she has a 90% success rate so hope she can get me prego quicker than us trying without all the herbal stuff i am still on vitex,macca root, royal jelly, coq10,iodine,and elevit so every morning is the same thing get up have my Decafe coffee gag on my tablets until i almost throw up and get on with my day lol what us women do to have a baby hope you all have a good day.

A friend of mine had a dream last night that she had drawn a picture of my baby in my womb and it was surrounded by yellow light blending into purple :) it sounded lovely.

Hi ferrals hurry up AF and get it over with ! sounds just great the breakfast your having ATM I have had to stop taking vitex and also the prenatal vitamins as they made me feel so sick and gave me a real bad headache so I am back to just the usual folic acid once a day ! don't know why they make me feel so S##T but I guess they did the job for me and got me back on a regular 28 day cycle so thats the main thing.

Murraycod I think you have to tell them what you want and there is a very good chance for your harvey no2 after all his mum and dad dare to give it a shot so why should it not work ! I have everything crossed for you !

I had have headaches for last couple of days & cramping (I usually get migraines when AF visits) so I thought she'd be here but no I am just getting spotting so I don't know whether it will turn in to AF or not as this has never happened before & as it was my first D&C I don't know if it is common. Am a bit confused because I also thought she'd take a while to come back :dunno:

Sunbeam-lol yeh i'm not looking forward to it the liquid form of vitex is horrendous all the other stuff is tablet so i just throw it down but i will do what ever it takes to make it happen quicker i'm glad your doing ok and i hope to see your levels have increased on fridays BT.

Mathewsmum-ive done the organic thing it is very difficult i did that to get my estrogen level down and it worked but i will wait and see what catherine says when she looks into my eyes iridology i think thats how you spell it and she looks at your fingernails and tongue to see whats going on with me if anything as this was really my 1st month ttc after all that waiting so i shouldnt jump the gun and think it wont happen it didnt take us to long to fall pregnant with abbi so i need to tell myself to relax only a year has past a year that i regret not ttc while we waited so if i was nice and fertile a year ago there is no reason that it wont happen now (easier said than done) good luck on your ivf journey hope its not to much waiting for you.

Craftmummy-maybe implantation bleed not much longer for you to wait and yeh the vitex is great for getting cycles regular mine were always 28-29 days until the ivf now i'm not real sure today is day 29 and i have had the sorest boobs they are also huge at the moment and have been getting AF cramping so i think my estrogen is high that is why my boobs are so sore and AF is not here yet i am taking vitex to try and balance out my levels but i think my hormones are excuse my language are f###ed up at the moment.

AFM - just when I found some peace with this part of my journey, I discovered some bleeding when at work yesterday afternoon with some clotting. Not AF! Of course my immediate thought was m/c. Any bleeding for me in my previous pgs has been the start of m/c and I have never bled with a large clot this early on before. But when I called my ob he said come in and made an urgent appointment for me. Sweetie. Anyway, I got some news I didn't expect.Things seem ok for now, but who can say with my history? I know there are no guarantees. But the ob must be really worried because after a time, 12 weeks I think, he wants to see me every week. So that's good, that things are ok for the moment, but its a very hard road now for me. I was just getting to a place where I had convinced myself I didn't need to check or expect bleeding when I wiped after going to the loo.... I feel like I am on a precipice and gradually losing my balance.... I remember how I felt when I was miscarring my son Nicholas, and then when he was born, how hard it was to be positive for the surviving twin of that pregnancy, who also m/c 4 weeks later and who is my daughter Sophie. It's so hard because I don't have any happy endings, and if I let myself think about, it scares me witless that I am /c again..... and there is nothing I can do to stop it. it's just so sad. The only thing I can do is try to be thankful for the now, and try not to think about how scared I am, because in all honesty, that is a pretty dark place for me and I don't want to go back until I have to.

Anyway better, go, I am sorry to bring you down, just when everyone was starting to sound a little positive in here. I will keep you updated. You have all been a really strong support base for me and I needed to share my very real fear that yesterday I was going to rejoin you all after such a brief sojourn. Maybe I still will, who knows. Keep my spot warm.

Oh I meant to say too ferals good to have you back. Sorry you're doing it tough.

Dory-hang in there just hope its bub settling in and stiring things up a bit and it will be fine i don't know if you were posting in this thread when i mentioned my girlfriend had bleeding with her pregnancies and quite a bit to she now has 3 boys one born 12 weeks ago after 10 weeks of constent bleeding some babies just give there mums a bit of a scare.

Dory: :hug: how scary for you! Sounds like you are in good hands with your ob. My GP told me of a patient of hers who had 3 babies and bled with clots the whole way through all pregnancies...I'm she was trying to make me more positive (this was before my M/C) but it does happen.

AliCat, birthday was great thanks, and it's so nice to not be bleeding anymore :) I can't help you on the spotting/bleeding after D&C issue, sorry, I had natural miscarriage...but it could be AF...esp if headaches/migraines are normal for you.

Ferrals: Sounds like your hormones are all F#%$@d up, good luck with Catherine, hope she can sort it all out for you, and quickly too.

Craftymummy: Could be implantation, I have my fingers crossed!!

Funny about you having to help, but you will never beleive what I have to go through with this subject..........where do I start!!!! For all of the IUI's we had to use a special sperm collection condom because DH couldnt......um......DTD himself.
And with the IVF, well, just imagine, my tummy felt like it had party poppers going off inside it, and the morning of my EPU, I stil had to give him the 'Pleasure' of using a collection condom, just before my op. I was sooooo delighted to help out :rolleyes:

SPF!!!!!!!!!! I laughed at your thaughts on the bumpy road and implantaton....not at you, but with you!! I was worried about the 5hr very bumpy road home after ET last month so I asked the FS about it and he giggled at me, he said having an embie in the uterus is like sticking a grain of rice in peanut butter then screwing on the cap, theres no chance of anything 'falling out or not implanting' even if i went off road 4x4ing!!

Ferrals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Late again!!!!!! give your naughty reproductive system a nudge from me! Have the coolest news about today, am so darn excited...............yeup, excited all over again! Bloody rollercoaster!!!

Visit with FS in Adelaide went better than fantastic, when I mentioned to him that DH and I would like to try out FET before a stim cycle in April/may, his eyes lit up like shining lights and said it was a great idea!! He said he was so glad that we decided on our own do a FET, he always likes to do a FET if able before another stim, and also reassured us, that even though there was a 50/50 chance of thawing, the chances would still be 50/50 if we had 2 or 3 to thaw, so it doesn't make a difference.
He even asked me if I wanted to do it this month on the cycle im on now! Decided on March cycle though, think my body needs a break from all of the drugs!
Because I have such long natural cycles, and all over the place he gave me the option of taking Clomid for the FET cycle so I jumped at the chance. Would much rather have a 28 day cycle for an embryo transfer, much better than a 38+ day wait !!

So charging away, got the boxing gloves on!! We also filled out all of the needed paperwork for our next Stim Cycle so if the FET brings no success, all we have to do is ring and let the nurses know when I get AF, so they can start me on the Antagonist Stim Cycle injections. All organised!! Amazing what you can get done in one visit girls!!;)
Fs also offered us phone consults now so we don't have to travel to Adelaide all of the time for followups, what a Darling he is!X
