Naomi, don't worry about having a 'blonde' moment... I just get way to ahead of myself and use all the jargon, when I should explain myself properly!
As Michelle Said, your follicles are in your ovaries and inside those follicles are your eggs (baby making eggs ;) ). When your follicles become mature (leading up to ovulation) they enlarge and can cause tenderness in ovaries and you may feel tender externally your lower abdomen. Not to say that is why you are tender in your lower abdomen, but it could be a cause.
As for your cervix being closed. Usually if you are pg your cervix will close-up again after opening to let sperm in when you are fertile around ovulation. Your cervix is also closed when you aren't pregnant, but are not fertile. I hope that made some sense :rolleyes:

Had a panic moment earlier. We live on the main street and we have a pool gate to get out the front, anyway. I let Emily and Violet go outside while I put the washing in the basket and put another load in the washer. Emily came running in telling me "baby's ok, Baby's ok". So I went to check and noticed the gate was open!!! Holy Crappa! I ran out the front calling her name... Luckily she was next door and didn't walk onto the road!!! *phew*

I haven't been to the Dr yet. My appt isn't til 4:20pm and it's only 2.22pm here atm!
I have finally convinced myself I am actually PG and looking forward to the Dr today. This Dr is a real scream and I know he'll say when he sees me 'ah, just couldn't keep your clothes on could you Miss Jayne'. PMSL. My gf had him deliver her twins and she has a phobia of needles so while they were prepping her to put the spinal block in he dropped his pants and said 'Hey Pauline, check out my snoopy boxers' right at the time they put the needle in and so it stopped her freaking out. How cool is that?
I bought a Fortel test today, just incase the other 10 tests were duds and it came up really bold and dark really quickly. So I have watched lines progress over the last week and they are now bold and strong so for the moment anyway, this bub is healthy and growing!
Naomi - I'm so glad you finally went to the doctors. I was about to book a flight over to you and take you there myself! Maybe when he said the cervix is closed and there's no tenderness that your cervix is firm. Cos you know it changes from firm to soft, open to closed during your cycle? I dunno? But BOL for Thursday with the U/S.
Thank you so much for all asking after me today. I have felt truly special and loved. & Lisa, you're sooooooooooooo pg my lovely!! I had the same spotting, just one and only on loo paper.

Jayne, Sounds like congratulations are in order, what a great day to jump back into this thread (after 2 years) and see someone getting a BFP YAY!
Shellstar, bugger about the spotting, cycles can be weird at times. The cycle that i got pregnant with Lucy i had a 10 day period (OMG) and i thought that it had only been a few months since i had lost Katelyn that i was never going to get prego again but i think that whilst i had a horrible period it was just my body sorting itself out to make the best home for Lucy so hopefully you are going to O very soon and get that BFP.

After waiting 1.5hours for the OB, I got into his room for him to take an emergency call and dash off to jump into an ambulance with another lady who had gone into major complications at 8cm dilatation and was being rushed to the big maternity hospital in the city.
My appt is re-scheduled for tomorrow at 3pm.
Before he was whisked off he said he'd do a pair of bt's to make sure the numbers are going up as they should and send me for an early scan in the next fortnight. I should be around 5w2d now and I don't want to have a scan too early in case it's too early to detect heartbeats cos that opens a whole can of worms!
I PROMISE I'll let you know as soon as I get home tomorrow!

It's OK Jayne. We don't really care about the doctor or the blood test. We just care about you and if you are OK which, by the sounds of it, you are!! I am so pleased you are feeling more confident and those lines are getting stronger. We just forget that you are 3ish hours behind.

I think I am very close to Oing... still get a bit of spotting tho. I have decided that if it is still going on by the end of the week and I haven't O'ed I will see a DR. Or if I O and it is still happening I will also go. I tried to make and appointment for today but they are booked out till next week!! Maybe I should book an appointment for next week JIC, I can cancel it if need be... hmmm might do that. :)

Jayne - you are so very definitely pg girl! Hope some great HCG levels will help make you feel less anxious. Sounds like you have a wonderful OB who will take great care of you.
Shan - Sorry i didn't say helloe earlier. So great to see you in here. Have not had a chance to pop into LTTC and AC forum. Any BFP graduates in there? How are you doing BTW? Are you still on clomid cycles?
Michelle - Not long til testing now - have got everything crossed for you. The trend has started and you and Lisa are the next to follow -thats an order!!
Yes, 19 w has gone very very slowly and stressfully but am so, so grateful to be in this position -would go through all that again any day! BTW - clexane injs DO sting and left me with some wicked bruising but really not that bad and certainly worth it!! Guess its a bit of payback for all those injections we have given to others (much as my patients are generally very good with needles -much braver than us weak humans!!)
Naomi - Sounds like you have had a very stressful day yesterday but although the Dr sounded quite daunting, I do agree that at least they were thorough. You really will feel much better once everything is checked out and if there are any problems -then treatment early gives you the best chance of getting that longed for bub.
I would very much doubt if your Dr meant to give you the impresson that you will never carry a bub -likely he/she was just trying to do all the tests to make sure everything is ok in there and that just seems very scary when you are not used to so much medical intervention
Having an u/s is not that scary -just a bit icky having the "dildo cam" internal scan.
Trust me, I can't count how many I had prior to conception and even now still having internals weekly to check my cervix - you get over the ickniness pretty quick!! They will chk out your ovaries, uterus and cervix -make sure you ask the sonographer to explain everything as they do it so you understand whats going on.

Lisa - big hugs to you my sweet, i know how you feel, its hard to be excited about it for them but just remember that'll be you soon enough ok, and it'll be the other way around.

As for me, i know Dr said to assume im not pg, im trying to think like that, but im getting so nervous, i keep saying to myself im not pg and im going in their to ask questions, and on that note these are the questions (in dot form) im asking

Lisa, Sorry that you are feeling down, i understand, my BIL and SIL announced their accidental pregnancy soon after we found out we were pregnant with Lucy, i had all sorts of awful thoughts about i should have been the one having a baby first you know....and i know that this sounds bad but it was really difficult to go and see them after they had their baby because it upset me so much that Katelyn hadnt been able to have all the fuss and excitement...but its a long story so go easy on yourself. It sounds as though you are just two days away from getting your BFP!!!Yay on your symptoms getting stronger, thats great news.

Jayne, What a bummer about the OB, sounds like it is all good news anyway if he wanted to confirm your levels are going up, sounds like its all positive positive postitive to me. Congrats again.

Lisa - big hugs. I wish I was there to give you a real one. It is awful (and yet wonderful) when family / friends announce their pregnancies but at the same time it reminds us of what we want and what we are yet to get. I don't really have symptoms of anything, just (.)(.) that are really sensitive to the cold (so much so they hurt!!!). But nothing else that rings any bells. I can't remember what I had when pregnant. It seems so long ago now.
Meredith - at least the clexane only stings a little bit. And yes the human patients are MUCH worse than the animal variety. My gynae was optimistic the other day and has written me up for clexane already!!! We can only hope. Bring on the bruises!!
Tanya - GL with the O!! But if you keep spotting you really should go and see someone (Just to be sure). And yes, my DH is a dag!!

Naomi - I agree with one of the other girls, im sure its not a case of you not being able to have a bubs, but the dr's just checking everything thoroughly to make sure that when you do get pg you will be well looked after! Once you have your u/s you will be able to perhaps ask a few more q's. If you have never had the 'dildo cam' its not that scary and you get to see your ovaries on the screen and all! So maybe have a quiet word to them to get them going! I remember my first time .. dr told me my ovaries were asleep after being on the pill and they had not woken up yet and it might take some time or Clomid to get them going - well was he wrong or what? I got pg the next the month!! Maybe a bit of prodding them might stir things up a bit. heres to hoping anyway :)

Michelle - LOL at DH and belly button! Ive trained my dh and he refers to it as bb now. Which test will you be using? I need one that is the early testing as I think im testing before due date. I dont have any hpt at home so need to go out and get me one.
Meredith thanks for your support. Its amazing what we will endure for the love of a child - I hope the rest of the pg goes a bit better, and before you know it - little bubba will be in your arms and all the hard yards will be a distant memory.

He said my bt showed levels of hcg (refused to tell me what they were) but said they wernt high enough to say im pg. He said it was a possibility (couldnt guarrentee anything til he had the us reults) that i still have something inside me. I told him about last months fake + and that i had my hcg levels checked etc and it was 0, he quickly changed his tune and kept smilling, but still refused to talk to me more until he had the u/s results, which he couldnt move closer. I have another app with him on Monday!
But thats all i got out of him really, basically a complete waste of time! and $10!!!!
I told him how i had q's and stuff and he said he'll answer them when he has the u/s results, as he'll be able to give better answers

How frustrating, but I guessed that he probably wouldnt tell you much until after the u/s - so why did he need to see you today?? Hopefully you get some answers after the u/s. My love, hang in there and it will all be resolved soon enough.
Thanks for that - its not red and full on but I know me and I always get this for a day or two before af comes in full force. Im pretty :angry: right now as I was really hoping to be pg before angels due date and things looked pretty positive, and I still have sore bbs.

Awww Lisa - I hope you are wrong and it isn't AF about to rear her ugly mug. I know how hard it is when the EDD rolls around. You just want something positive to hang on to. It will happen. Keep your chin up and I am sending you a BIG cyber hug. If you are convinced it is AF - a bottle of red works wonders. I have had MANY bottles since November last year. I am far from confident of a positive result for me too. No spotting as yet but no convincing symptoms either. Fingers are still crossed but .... I may relent and test tomorrow so I don't have to be at work when the disappointment arrives Thursday.
Tanya - you get that egg girlie!!! Go the boy swimmers!!! But, hey, if the girl swimmer wins the race will you care????

I went to the loo again and its only slight spotting just really small amounts and very light in colour,,,,,, but id rather get af now, as I had similar spotting last pg and look what happened there!!
I hope its way better news for you though!! I hope in my heart that you are pg, it will really sweeten things for me if you are.. at least one of surely deserves to board the ark. I'll keep praying for you...

Michelle - No symptoms can be good symptoms, especially if you get AF symptoms. I'm soooooo hoping it's BFP time for you my lovey. Please don't think that anybody will ever forget Caitlyn. She is always in your thoughts and forever in your hearts. She's always there looking down on you and I"m sure she's recruiting the perfect sibling for you and she's been a bit fussy so it's taken some extra time. She needs somebody who's going to match her and that's nothing short of perfection so she's taking her time and scouting the BEST!
Tanya - WOO HOO on the O! You go get your man and ravish him senseless. Happy sleeping with a pillow under your butt to get the swimmers to the eggy on time! You're so getting naked tonight! LOL.
Naomi - Your Dr is peeving me off! Why tell you there was hcg registering but then not telling you numbers! Doesn't he know how stressful this is already? GL with the 'dildo cam' I PMSL at the thought of that! What did your man say about what's going on? Is he going to come to the scan with you? I am such a prude when it comes to internals and things like that. Thankfully I've never had an internal u/s. I had 1 internal when I was 34w pg with Jessica and I had the pillow over my face the whole time! LOL. Then the Dr said I was 3cm and my legs snapped shut straight away with fright! I thought she might fall out while I was walking back to the car. PSML!
It's almost 1pm. 2 more hours until I see the Dr again, or try to anyway! LOL. My OB loves Jess cos he has a daughter called Jessica and he laughed when he saw the egg on her head cos apparently his daughter was the same at that age. He reckons it goes with the name. Going to be interesting having a BT and Jess running around at the same time. I might have to take the baby harness cos it's too small for the pram to fit in there. I'll talk to you all tonight after I have been to the vampires.
