BekZ - yes, I have just started on clomid. It seems to be going well so far, not too many side effects. I am on CD8 now so not much happening yet, but I have a BT tomorrow to see what's happening. Hopefully I will O sometime around CD14 for a change and will get a sticky bub happening!! Glad to hear all is going well with your pg, it is great inspiration for the rest of us!

mummyto1 - thanks for the baby dust! I am glad your pg is going well. Hopefully I will be able to join with another clomid bub asap!!

Salt - how are you feeling today? I think this cycle will be a positive one for you too. I certainly hope so! Re O'ing late - I couldn't help thinking it was a problem too, but apparently it isn't necessarily so. At least you have a supportive OB who you can talk to and can hopefully reassure you. I hope you are feeling better.

Satya - so sorry to hear of your confusion after your appointment. It all sounds a bit confusing. Maybe your GP is concerned that although you O, it may not be a good O unless your progesterone is a bit higher? I really don't know much about estrogen. I am very certain that the only reason she has sent you to a specialist is because of the time you have been trying, your age and the fact that she now feels out of her depth. GPs really only have v basic knowledge on these matters (I have found out from experience! I honestly think I know more about fertility and m/c than most GPs now!). I think it is good that she has sent you to a specialist. The result may be that either you are told it isn't a problem, in which case that will reassure you, or if they think maybe you could have a stronger O, then I guess they will be able to prescribe treatment for you which will hopefully work! Try to keep your head up - it is a good result really, and don't worry too much about the hormone levels. Have you made an appointment yet?

Sharon - Big congrats!! Sending you loads of sticky vibes. The symptoms are soundling great. Hope the ms is not too hard on you. I would not worry too much about how faint the line is. When I was pregnant the line was very very faint, but my blood results were quite high, so you can never tell.

Bun - Sounds like things are moving along well for you. Glad that you (and DH...) have not suffered any nasty side effects!

Lee - So sorry you are feeling down. Just let it all out honey, we are all here for you.

Well, I am still waiting for AF to arrive, but and doubly confused now. FF has given me back my coverline, but my temps are all over the place still. I have been wondering if it is the battery on my thermometer. I took my temp last night just to test it and got 3 very different readings within 1 min (36.6, 36.1 and 36.8). Does that sound normal to anyone?
So I am now on CD 38, and 20 DPO. Tested BFN yesterday, but did not get a BFP until 24 DPO last time. So my question is, when should I see my GP?

Bun - go the clomid!! With DS I was on my 4th cycle of 50mg clomid & this time it was my 1st 50mg cycle. Wishing you all the luck in the world. The same goes for all you girls!!!!

BekZ that's what I thought, but didn't haven't the same sick feeling today, just didn't feel like eating, all I have had today is 2 slices of toast for breaky (10am) then at about 12 I had a packet of Toobs, then nothing till dinner time, although I couldn't eat the sausages they tasted really strange, and only managed some of my vegies.
Bun No the line wasn't darker, but could definitely see it (in the right light)
saltprincess hope you are feeling better today, I hate it when my computer loses a post, and it is usually a really long one. I have to admit that when the line came up again today I felt a little more positive even though it wasn't darker.
reneenay I have actually been stalking the old belly buddies thread and knew you where expecting a boy, congratulations, I am very happy for you. You may be seeing an announcement thread from me in a few days ;)
Leyla thanks, i'll take all the sticky vibes I can get. I don't necessarily want the lines to be super dooper dark, just dark enough for DH to believe me that it is there LOL. If it was me and I was 20 dpo I think I would be making an appt to see the gp in the next couple of days, good luck, hope you get your bfp this cycle too. Can't help with the temps though, sorry.

Now I may sound like a bit of an obsessive here, but when I tested this morning I kept my fmu sample, and then went out and bought 2 other different HPT's and tested with them, and on both of them I got a very very very very faint +ve too, do I sounda little neurotic to anyone :lol: So you all guessed it, I will be testing again in the morning.

Now that's my kind of obsession!!! As you know, this behaviour is completely and utterly normal in our house!! I did tell you about the time we camped in France and I used a whole 50 stick tube of HPTs in one week waiting for it to go darker :redface: ???? (it did, he's still asleep at the mo!!)

Well, I finally was told yesterday that my little boy had pneumonia. I am yet to speak with the pathologist to ascertain what type and how he might have contracted it. He was only 18 hours old when he died. When he was born his breathing was noted by a midwife to be "laboured" and my obstetrician told us she would get a paed to look over him. Despite me asking when was the paed coming 3-4 times, they never came, and my son died. We will be heading down the negligence path. All my baby boy needed was antibiotics and a thorough check and he would be here with us still. Do not be deceived into thinking you get the best of medical attention in a private hospital - the system has let my family, but especially our baby, down. It's heartbreaking.

I was not sick when I went into labour. My MIL flew in from Rome 2 weeks before bubs was born, she had a terrible chest infection. I thought I was coming down with it after a few days of her being here, but I nipped it in the bud. Do any of you know if the baby could have contracted this infection, but not me?

Oh Amanda this is just too, too heart breaking and qalso makes me so angry.

Do you remember I asked you to talk to them about Group B Strep??? I tested positive for this and Joseph was born with double pneumonia and needed a lumbar puncture, CPAP, month in SCBU, ABs etc??

I know you said you had tested neg. for GBS but can you remember when they took the HVS??? GBS can leave your body very quickly after birth (or so I was told) and still leave bubs with problems that are associated with it. Remember, this is nothing to do with your blood work, it is detected by HVS.

I had an awful chest infection in the December just before Christmas (bad UK winter) and JoeJoe was born mid-January - they assured me that without the GBS, JoeJoe would not have caught pneumonia just from this - if any knows different, please post! This is just what they told me. So based on this, I doubt your baby could have caught anything from your MIL without you at least showing symptoms, if at all.

Amanda - next time (:pray: ) I deliver, I will have to have ABs intravenuosly at regular 4 hourly intervals after my waters have gone (or when I go into full labour) until delivery, then bubs will continue to be treated with ABs after. This as a precaution, even if I don't test +ve for GBS at the time. It can disappear and reappear at intervals.

I think you should check whether you had an HVS, when it was done, can they def. 100% rule out GBS and discuss whether you should be tested for it when you go into labour/waters go next time (there WILL be a next time:) )

Also, they cannot rule out GBS by saying bubs tested negative for it. Have a look at some research on GBS on the web, and make them tell you why they can 100% rule it out, for your own piece of mind for your next bub.

I'm so sorry if I have come on a bit strong but when I read about your heart breaking loss originally, I had tears pouring down my face, for both your little bubs and also because of the chill this sent down my spine for Joseph.

Take care of you and yours, and see what you can find out. I am 100% with you on the med.neg route (my degree is in law and I have worked in the UK NHS for years), you go for it, for your little man

well ladies I am feeling a little disapointed this morning as my tests aren't getting darker, not even the 10mui ones from LC so I am not going to get my hopes up, think I will now leave it and wait until either Saturday or Sunday until I test again.

Lee - so sorry to hear about your boy. I definitely agree re med neg (I am a lawyer); it definitely sounds like he should have been seen asap if he was having breathing problems. You poor thing - it must be so awful to hear that news and find out how easy it would have been to prevent this from happening if they had done the right thing. I am thinking of you today sweetie :hug:

Sharon - sorry to hear the tests aren't getting any darker, but keep in mind that tests do not measure the amount of HCG, just whether any HCG is present or not, and also, in some pregnancies HCG goes up quicker than in others. Just out of interest, how long is your LP? If this does turn out to be a chem pg (and I am not saying that it is), then a likely cause of chem pgs is a short LP, and that can be easily treated. If this does turn out to be another chem pg, I would definitely ask to see a FS asap to discuss this with them. It may be as simple as taking a small amount of clomid (as I am), or some other drug to lengthen your LP and prevent it from happening again. Best of luck that this one does turn out well, though! I know how you are feeling right now, and please, vent away if you need to - it helps! And try to remember, it is not over yet!!

Salt - yay, it looks like you O'ed yesterday! Woo hoo!!! Now for the TWW. Best of luck for this cycle - I think things are definitely looking up for you this cycle, and I am looking forward to hearing of your BFP!!!

Leyla - I am not sure what is going on with your temps. 20DPO, no AF and BFNs sounds a bit strange, although Salt is right, temping is not 100% accurate, and apparently for some women, it does not work at all. Also, you only have a hatched coverline, so it is possible that FFs O date is wrong (although it looks right to me). I suppose just give it a few more days and see your dr if still no AF or BFP. How long are your cycles normally?

Hi to everyone else.

I had my next BT this morning, although I don't think much is happening yet, as I am only on CD9. I would soooo love to O somewhere close to CD14 for once and am really hoping it happens. Apparently most women on clomid will, so I am crossing my fingers. I am a bit confused, as although AF finished on Tues, last night and today I am having some spotting (brown blood), which is unusual. I am not sure if this is normal or not or if I should be worried? It is only a small amount, but this is not usual for me. Anyone have any ideas? I am also feeling a bit down (again - I sound like a broken record these days). I think it is because the EDD of my first loss is next tues, and I keep seeing heavily pg women around and thinking that should be me; I should be about to go into labour any time now, and instead here I am. I really really thought I would be pg by the time my EDD came around, and never expected to be here, recovering from my second loss and having BTs galore and appointments, etc, and STILL TTC. I am also feeling really hopeless, like it will never work out. I just can't get my brain to believe that it could be ok next time. The chance of my next pg making it to term is 75 - 80% (and that figure is from my specialist), so I should believe that it will work. How do I make my stupid brain believe that!

I got AF today so I am officially going to be around here more often. :)

Bun thank you, I suppose I am just expecting the line to be darker just like my last pgncy, but I am also now thinking that implantation could have happened later this cycle. My luteal phase varies, the shortest one was 9 days (only once) and the longest 14 days so FF has given me an average of 12 days, but I think if this turns out to be another chemical I will be going to speak to my dr. Can't help you with the before O spotting, sorry, but hopefully you are nice and close to O and you will manage to get your sticky bfp, it must be very hard for you approaching your first angels due date :hugs:

Alex - thanks for all the info and hugs :) . There's so many questions...... I have made an appointment with my GP to go over the detailed final autopsy report next week (they won't send it to me, plus it's all medical jargon anyway). So, hopefully then I will know more. I can't even say for sure if my fluid was tested by the doctor when she broke my waters - it's not standard practice in Australia I've been told - some do, some don't. She broke my water about 10am, and I didn't deliver until 9pm, and had a bath in that time. I've a strong feeling bubs caught an infection in that time. I've now got another OB who is competent - and he said there's a couple of main reasons for infection - and one is the Group B Strep you suggest (in fact this account for the majority of causes of pneumonia in newborns) and the other is a staff type infection. Yes, they did tell me the baby did not test positive for GBS - as for me - I really don't know. My new OB ordered numerous blood tests on me the other week, and he called me today to say that I'm perfectly fine, no sign of anything.

Whatever happened to my baby - it happened during labour and delivery - and he went downhill quickly after that.

It's a relief to know what happened to him - at least I can call it something now - not SIDS. But it makes me very very angry too - but my hubby and I will be directing our anger carefully and making sure it hits the exact target - I know I have to do this for our boy - and others after him...

Bun - thanks for your kind words and encouragement. I've been in touch with a med neg lawyer in Melbourne - it's obvious we have a case. First we have to finish our dealings with the Coroner. And Bun - you are a healthy woman - you will have a healthy baby. I tell you, and I don't know why - but the road to happiness for some of us can be a longer and more challenging road than for others. What I have learnt is that, although this can be a pain in the ar...e, it also means the rewards are greater, far greater for us when we get them. So, hang in there, I know it will happen for you soon, you are so worthy.

Bun - intermenstrual bleeding including spotting is a symptom of Clomid so don't worry about that. I haven't yet booked my FS appointment. I don't think I'll go to the one the gp recommended. I am waiting for a return phone call from MIVF so hopefully I will have something organised soon.

Sharon - try not to stress too much about the feint lines yet, but try not to get too excited either. When I my recent m/c at just under 6 weeks my lines did not darken and I'm thinking that was a bit of a warning.... could be wrong I guess. I also got one negative one in the middle of my positive ones.

The last two days have been really difficult. I have been having some major mood swings and have been crying way too much. I seem to be OK again today, but I was yesterday until I got home from work and off I went again. I dread to think how psycho I'll go if I end up on clomid or any other fertility drugs as they messed with me majorly last time. My AF is pretty much finished.... a nice short one again - 3 days max by the look of it. Trying to get my head in a happy place.

i guess you will be asking the doctors this one ! I was very sick at about 30 weeks with a cough/cold that i couldn't shrug off....thinking i couldn't take anything i left it....but after a week or so i went to the doc's and they said you MUST take antibiotics as the sickness CAN harm the baby. Thank god i did as i didn't realise how bad it could affect them. My baby died though due to labour problems (but you just wonder....)
