Trying to Conceive after Miscarriage/Loss - September 2009

Hope everything is going well :D Thankyou for your post it really gives me hope when i see stories like that, i too am hoping that its just being sneaky. I have a docs appt on thursday so if AF still hasnt showed up by then ill POAS that morning and then hopefully get some answers at the docs :crossfingers: its a sneaky BFP hehe
Tanya thanx darls that too gives me hope, i also ovulate very early about CD8 so im currently about 18dpo so hopefully its just not showing up yet. Good luck with BDing when O time comes around and hopefully youll get a BFP in about 2-3 weeks time :D

Murraycod - Hope you get some relief from pain and cramping, hey but usually you get a spotting after implantation - may be thats a implantation bleeding. Hope everything goes well and look after yourself as well.

with me - I am waiting for AF to come which is due today, strangly, i dont know bcoz i had AF (end of Aug) after my D&C, and i again bleed for 4-5 days in mid sept ( i think that was in-between periods bleeding - i don't know), so technically, Today is my AF date..lets see, I just want to finish it as quickly as possible and like to start BDing...

Murrycod hope the spotting is just implantation it can feel like AF is starting for sure but our bodies can trick us we think we know them but I don't think we really do our bodies are cleaver they keep us guessing. so still hoping you get a BFP and your DH will be just as much in love with you no matter what !

Feeling much better today was just a small blip hope I don't have too many more, Just wondering when to expect AF as had a D&C on sept 3rd but is this my day 1 or what who knows. Anyhow if I happened to o this month maybe there is a small chance of a BFP but not really thinking along those lines as yet.

Been keeping my hands and mind busy I love to knit and scrapbook and sew and all these crafts keep me sane been knitting away and it really calms me ( knitting baby clothes in the hope one day I will need them again anyone else as crazy as me ?

My DH is so supportive he keeps telling me you have never mc twice in a row as yet so maybe next BFP will be a good one for us, How sweet for him to even know that !

Anyhow have a good day and may we all get our BFP sooner rather than too much later

Af showed up full flow thismorning, right on shedule.
Not much time to greive the past cycle B/c I have to dust myself off and collect my new lot of injectables tomorrow, yay..................my little mates;)

I guess the not knowing part is the most stressfull, but once it's over, even if not a good result, you don't have to guess anymore and enjoy a wine (which tonight I promise I will!)

Craftymummy9 - I have read in so many places that your body is still in "fertile" mode after a mc and you have a greater chance of conception. I think I might be testament to that.............

AFM - I had some good news today. I posted last week that I had a BFP on Wednesday but started bleeding and due to my miscarriage last cycle, I wasn't feeling hopeful and my Dr wasn't giving me much hope after I received a really low HCG level. Well, I am pleased to report my HCG has increased from 70 last Wednesday afternoon to 541 on Monday morning. I am extremely relieved and happy but unfortunately still spotting/lightly bleeding which means I need to keep having BT's to make sure my level continues to go up and also that the bleeding stops soon. So I am going to keep lurking and popping in on you guys but at this stage I am going to leave this thread.

eliselouise, the waiting can be soooo annoying, I hope you have a BFP soon to end the suspense. Personally, my cycle can go to 35 days before AF arrives, so I wait until then to start testing if AF hasn't shown up already.

josh's mom, I hope the scan had good news.

ric, I'm glad you found this group, it's a great support. I'm sorry there was a reason you had to be here, but at least we can keep each other company.

craftymummy, I've had similar days. I'll go for a week doing all right, then have an off day when it's hard to not be pregnant.

As for me, I'm still crossing fingers in the TWW. AF could show up anytime between tomorrow and the following week, with a history of showing up as late as 35 days into the cycle. I generally force myself to not waste money by testing before at least day 33. We'll see what happens in the next week.

hey girls, the mood seems kind of positive in here today.

i'm another one with long cycles, pretty much the same as you bookworm :)

just wondering if anyone knows when my bleeding will stop. had the tablets on 23rd and again on 25th, but i am very impatient and just want to start ttc already! i am going to wait till i get my cycle back so i know where i am but just wondered if any of you have any advise.
afm, i'm still pretty emotional about the whole thing. i went back to work today and luckily only a few people at work knew i was pregnant so didn't have to tell too many people my bad news. although i was in tears each time i told anyone. but i can say that the majority of people i have spoken to have all lost their first pregnancy but went on to have a healthy baby with their next pregnancy. so that is at least some comfort.

your hcg levels look good to me starangelk :)

Murraycod - Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear AF showed up. I'm glad you are so positive about it though. I agree, the worst part is not knowing and even if you have bad news at least you know. It's just such a shame it wasn't better news.

elouise - even though you got a BFN, your lack of AF sounds very promising! When I was pG with DS i had a bloaty tummy and bad skin too so here's hoping.....

Tanya - we can wait for O together. When do you normally O? I've always had pretty short cycles. O around 12 days and then AF 13 DPO.

Matthew's Mum - I've heard every 2nd day before too, but I'm so worried about missing O that I think we may try for every day. We had company last night so we are starting tonight. It's funny, I have butterflies in my stomach thinking about being pregnant again.

Ric - i know how you feel. I was so excited when AF showed up after our m/c so we could start TTC again. I feel like all any of us ever do is wait for stuff. Wait for AF, wait for O, wait to POAS. The only wait we all want is the 9 month wait!!

craftymummy - I'm as crazy as you LOL. I bought this cute cross stitch wall hanging to make for the new baby, if it ever comes. I have not yet found the time to start it yet and I still need someone how to show me how to do it, but I still bought it lol. I have tons of other stuff to keep me busy anyways (I too love scrapbooking and sewing and knitting and such)

Starangel - YAY for great bloodwork results, that's fantastic news!! I hope you come back and keep us updated on your progress!!

bookworm - Good luck in your TWW. hopefully this time next week you'll be moving on to the PG after M/C thread as well

scarypinkfairy - I had a hard time telling everyone that I was no longer pregnant as well. I cried every single time I had to do it. I got DH to tell most of them cuz it was too hard for me and I didn't want to see the looks of pity on their faces after I'd been so excited when I told them.

I just got a phone call from the scientist our test is finished and is being sent today for it's second check and he said stop panicing i will get the green light next week and i will definately be able to start in oct yippeeeee!!!!!!! finally after 6mth's i can actually try for a healthy baby .

Twinsister glad im not the only crazy one on here I also love to cross stitch and its so easy you basically find the centre of your fabric, find the centre on your graph and choose the correct colour indicated with a symbol and off you go making sure all your stitches cross over the same way each square on the graph is a stitch on your fabric.
Good luck anyway its very theraputic. Im busy knitting a matinee set love the old fasioned lacy type with booteees and so on.

Murrycod hope you enjoyed your wine make the most of it you may have to give it up prity soon for 9mnths !

Elsielouise has AF still not here I sure hope so. I am not sure of my cycle as had a D&C 28 days ago but POAS this morning just to see and a BFN I also got cheap ones off ebay and have no signs of AF but as I say not really sure of my cycle either but hey let us know whats going on !

StarangelK what a fantastic BP result you must be pleased with that there is definately something there ! I understand your reluctance to celebrate just yet but I do hope you start feeling sick soon and I mean that in the nicest way I always felt dreadful when I got a good BFP that resulted in a full term baby anyway !

afm - nearly 15 weeks now. having an amnio on 15th - nuchal fold was a little high than ob would like it (2.7m) so will be good to get that out of the way. josh's mum has her's 2 days before mine so nice to have someone else on the same journey. apart from that worry everything is going really well. my heart goes out to you all and i wish there was more that i could do. i look forward to seeing heaps of you in the paml thread really soon. love to all.

I'm weaning myself off this board a little bit. I am still around but trying not to obsess about things and just let whatever will be happen. I guess I am coming to the end of my TTC journey. I applied for a job yesterday and I had been holding off on that because I thought I would be pregnant and not seriously considering employment for a couple of years.

SPF i think every body is different to when the cycle returns to the 'Norm', I got AF back 35days after I began to bleed from MC. I didnot have DC or meds though, I was abt 8wkspg. I hope your cycles settle quickltyfor you X

Ric my cycles went from 29days bf the pregnancy, to 35days after MC. Now it's all different again now that am doing the IUI treatment. I'm very glad to hear that you are enjoying the friendships on this forum, as sad as it is to get newbies, it is a chance to give back to others, for what I received being a newbie myself X

Evening all, hope everyones day is going well.
Sorry no time for persies tonight,. just got home from work and im stuffed and really dont feeli like talking to anyone or doing anything.
AF decided to rear her big fat ugly head this arvo at work (only very light spotting at the moment but pretty sure will be full flow in the morning), grrr was so angry and sad that i just wanted to :crying: but because i was at work had to hold it in. I was really starting to think that this was my month with af being 5 days late and all. Ill know now not too get my hopes up AT ALL, untill at least 2 weeks after af due. Why does this journey have to be SOOO hard for all of us who want it so much and seems so easy for those who dont :wall:
To make matters worse db is not home and probably wont be for at least a week so im here all on my lonesome, just wanna curl up in bed and not get out for a very very long time.

Zstar-I have my finger's crossed your amnio come's back all clear abbi's nuchal fold was 4.2 and the cvs and amnio came back clear (don't want to scare you) but i wasn't happy so had an early morphology scan at 16 week's that's when they found some problem's and it took another 4 week's of testing for some answer's so if your conserned at all push for more test's let me know how you go also josh's mum hope you have good new's to.

AFM-just waiting on AF on the 11th-12th to start.

elouise - I'm so sorry to hear AF showed up. The same thing happened to me this last cycle. AF was 4 days late and despite a BFN I was getting really excited and hopeful. It was a big letdown to see AF arrive. I really think October is going to be a good month though for this thread. At least with DP being away this week, he'll be home in time for O and there won't be a missed opportunity. When my DH is out of town for O its worse than AF showing up.

ferrals - yay that's great news!!

craftymummy - I think once I'm actually PG it will spur me on to start it, I'm just so busy right now with DS and other craft projects. I think i will enjoy it too though, once I actually get started I'll probably not want to put it down. Your matinee set sounds really cute.

AFM it looks like my cycle has changed, as today is only day 9 and I am pretty sure I am ovulating. Thankfully DH and I got some "BD" time in last night. We'll try again tonight and tomorrow and hopefully that will be enough. Poor DH is saved from extended BD. October is my absolute favorite month of the year so I think it will be a good month, hopefully for all of us!

I have been gone for so long many of you will not know who I am.

I was on here for months after my second m/c in April. I decided to take a break through sept as I was not able to try for a month. I was very good and only popped in 4 times for a quick check to see how my girls were doing. So gald to see that so many of my original BB girls are now UTD.

I have started trying again this week but have decided not to return to BB as a regular. I have found that I am managing better emotionally if I am not thinking about trying to conceive constantly. I do really miss being here and chatting and supporting everyone but I need to do what is best right now to keep me as emotionally level as possible.

I am focussing on losing weight and have dropped a few kilos, I am exercising and doing yoga too.

I will still pop in from time to time. Good luck to all of you.

hey sunbeam, have been thinking about you. glad to hear you are ok. i fully understand what you mean. i had to take a break too. was just consuming me too much and not good for me emotionally. thinking of you and hoping you get your BFP very soon.

Eliselouise, I'm sorry AF showed up. She showed up here, too. It turned into a fairly rotten day by the time I got out of work tonight. I started spotting early in my shift, good thing I keep the "emergency" supplies in my work bag. It was disappointing, to say the least. Then things got stressful later in the evening, and my emotions didn't help at all. I regularly cover the front office person for their half hour meal break, but tonight the girl working that position took over an hour against policy. Of course the phones went crazy while she was gone, and I was hopping mad she disappeared that long. I got really behind on my own work in the process. I've emailed my supervisor about the incident, but it made the day that much worse on top of not being pregnant this month.

Sorry for the whining, I'll catch up on personals tomorrow when I'm more calmed down. Best wishes to everybody else, I hope your day went better.

Eliselouise, I was so heartily hoping this time was yours. I hope it's not too much longer for you (although I'd love to be belly buddies again, I'm sure you couldn't stand waiting until Jan for your bfp)

I have had the most rotten day. I can't even look at my colleague who is pg, can't even be in the same room. Culminated in me shutting myself in my office, hiding under the desk and crying today. Like really really sobbing. One of the girls eventually came and found me, and sent me home.
Almost all of them know I'm leaving now - my replacements have been arranged, my boss knows and is devastated but supportive, and I'll be finishing at Christmas.
What I hate the most is that I'm supposed to be the leader, I am the director, and when I have moments like I did today, and they all see my cry, I feel so weak and like I'm letting them down. Which people assure me is not the case, but it's how I feel. I think that's why I've held it in for so long - this week has been the only time I've cried at work.
What can I do? How am I going to get through this? I've got 12 weeks left, and both colleagues are onyl going to get more pregnant. I know I need to talk to them, and one in particular, but how am I going to do it?
Have booked in to see a counsellor next week, might ge some strategies there. Just wondering if anything has worked for you ladies.

snugglybean - I'm so sorry things are so hard for you right now. Maybe it's as a result of a melt down moment like yesterday when you could explain to your colleagues why it's so hard for you. I'm quite sure that they would understand (assuming, of course, that they are reasonable humans). I think that, as women who have suffered one or more miscarriages, it is a lot more aparent to us when a person is hurting over seeing pregnancies. We understand the fear and the pain and the jealousy of it. Some women who have never lost a baby will never understand it but I guess we can only take our chances and try to explain it to those we have to spend time with in the hope that they will understand and be sympathetic to our special needs. Don't we always say that women should stick together? Support one another and encourage each other? I wish you success in confronting your colleagues over this painful situation. My prayers are with you for their understanding. :hug:

Apologies that I didn't report in straight after my US on Monday, I took DS to my parents house in the country for a couple of days, my sister was there with my nieces who are on school holidays. Needless to day DS had an awesome time. So my US seemed to go quite well, which was great for the hour or so inbetween my US and my Ob appt. When I went to my ob appt, he had the results of my down syndrome screen. Whilst my US was great and gave us 1:1500 chance my blood test results came in at 1:78 so our combined risk was 1:177 which has us at high risk for downs. After a lot of consideration DH and I have decided to have an amnio. We are scheduled for the 13th of Oct.

Oh dear. Just when it looks as though we should be trying to catch this little egg, DD poked her Dad in the eye and managed to scratch his cornea. We spent Wednesday night in the ER and then back again yesterday when it became worse. He is in a lot of pain, on powerful painkillers and secluded in bed in the darkness. The last thing he feels like is making babies. :-(

evening all hope everyone is doing well, im feeling much better today, didnt curl up in bed and speak to noone but AF is almost gone so that makes me feel alot better.
Sunbeam good to hear from you again, glad to see that things are going well for you and that taking a break is doing you well. Make sure to pop back in to announce your BFP when it happens which i hope is not too far away for you.
Bookworm dont be sorry about the whining this is the perfect place to come and let it all out. Hope you are starting to feel a little better :)
Snugglybean i would love to be belly buddies again but i too am hoping that i dont have to wait till january for that to happen, i really would like to be pg again before my angels EDD which was end of jan, think it would make it a little easier. Hopefully your councelling session helps you out and you can figure out something to make the next few months a little easier.

snugglybean i can only sympathise with you. i work in an area where we do prenatal testing, and the samples we are getting in now are getting very close to when i would have been due. i find it very upsetting. you cannot be expected to not be emotional over what has happened. i just hope the people you work with understand. only my boss knew that i was pregnant so i'm finding it really tough.

afm, i went for my ultrasound today and there is still 1.5cm of "products" left after two lots of tablets. i am really confused what to do. i have to go back in 2 weeks to check again. but i just want to ttc again, and i won't get my cycle back with stuff hanging around in my uterus :( but i really don't want a d&c. why is life so hard? :cry:

Hey everyone, I managed to survive the work week. I pulled an extra long shift on Thursday, as we're short staffed and haven't replaced one of the graveyard people that left. The bonus to that is that I only had to work three and a half hours today to finish my total 40. My supervisor spoke to my colleague who overdid her meal break on Weds. and it's supposed to not happen again. Privately, I'll be paying attention to the time she leaves in the future, and don't trust her much anymore. I'm feeling a little better about AF showing up this month, and we can try again. Thank goodness for ovulation kits, it makes it easier for planning.

Speaking of ovulation timing, sunnyp, sorry about your difficulties. I hope your DH is feeling better soon. I scratched my cornea once, and it was really painful. Ferrals--congrats, I hope you get a BFP soon. Snugglybean, I'm sorry you had a rotten day the same day I did, and hope that things are looking brighter now. eliselouise, I'm glad AF is on the way out, good luck trying this month. scarypinkfairy, I hope your doctor finds a solution to the retained products ASAP so you can move on.

So I thought I ovulated on day 9 (lots of EWCM). I though "great" since we BD on day 8,9 and 10, then took a much needed break on day 11. Now it is day 12 and I think I actually may be ovulating today (more EWCM). I'm wondering if we BD today and tomorrow, is that enough? I always thought the day before ovulation was the most important day and so now I'm worried I missed it. I know I'm probably over thinking things, I didn't get much sleep last night (woke up at 3:00 to pee and couldn't get back to sleep for a few hours, and even then it wasn't a restful sleep). I think I'll do personals tomorrow, I'm off to have a much needed nap.

morning everyone,,,Bookworm-goodluck with catching that egg...Twinsister-I think you're in with a good chance,sperm do live for 48 hours , so i've been told.Hope you were able to have nap it's sounds like you needed it.

twinsister - I was just checking my chart and notice that when FF reckons I o'd was 6 days after I last BD'd!! Not to mention when my due date is makes O at least 3 days after BD. I thought I had O'd quite a bit earlier than FF does. And I think sperm can live up to 5 days (not all and not always but I believe that's around the max).

For everyone who remembers me from my time here a few months ago, I had my 20 week scan on Friday and it has revealed a pink baby :) I'm really pleased and so are my two little girls and my DH is over the moon. This is his first child as DD1 & 2 are to a previous relationship. My youngest is about to turn 5 and the elder turn 7 in two weeks. I have 3 girlfriends due within days of me and so far know that two are having blue babies and I doubt the third will find out. It's my first preg with friends around. Anyway, was just updating and hope to see more bfp's coming out of here soon as I lurk in here regularly to check up on my old support group.

ps. Ferrals, so pleased to hear how things are progressing for you! Best of luck with all the needles and the first round, I hope so much that it works first time for you!!

Twin sister-every second day is perfect just before and during your fertile time i was told sperm can survive up to 5 day's in the perfect enviroment (ewcm ect) but they lose there oomph! to penetrate the egg if they have been waiting around to long but every 2nd day you have an excellent chance there will be swimmer's there to catch your egg.

Smallfry-good to hear from you and congratz on another pink one as long as all healthy that's all that matter's i have 3 boy's and as you know we lost our first daughter and the way i feel right now i will be happy to have twin boy's (a pink one would be a bonus) but i just want healthy bubbie's i also have 3 friend's babie's due all around the 20-23 of oct including my grrrrrr! SIL and i am secretly praying they are boy's i think i will cope better anyway thank's for wishing me luck.

AFM- i'm counting down until AF show's her head i have never wanted to see her so much in all my life but i am getting excited i went through all my baby stuff today and we have the change table in our room with all the bit's and pieces needed (nappie's wipe's dummie's ect ) just to give us some hope a bit early but it feel's good to see it.
Anyway hope everyone is having a good weekend i'm off to work.

TwinSis I have EWCM when I ovulate and again a few days later which has always confused me too. Even when I have the Pregnyl inj to make me spontaneouse ovulate same thing, EWCM the next day, then a few after that..........I can't read my body anymore ,it tells lies all the time!!!

SPFairy I too hope that you don't have to go through a D+C, but I guess if it is going to make you healthier in the long run and get you back on track it's the right thing to do??? I wasn't in that position, I give you strength darling :hug: You are still going through a raw, rough time. X

Eliselouise you are a couple days behind me...you have a shorter cycle than I do so lets hold hands and get a BFP this month together and then go annoy the girls in the other thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I had 2nd 50iu of Puregon tonight. Scan on day 10 to see how my eggies are doin, still feels like a long long road for me this month and I'm not even in the TWW yet!!
A lot more needles before I can even think of that :doh:
