Trying to Conceive after Miscarriage or Loss ~ August 08 #2

The Thread was about whether you are insulted by people who use IVF to conceive twins who are able to natrually conceive without it..... and yes it was heated at times..... As for the snow.. yep.. went up there... fell over.... hated it... but DH loved it.. so i basically hibernated while i was there.... that and try and log into BB on the computers they had there.

As for what to do so you dont have to keep TTC..... wish i had the answer..... I ve been trying for just under 5 years...... so if you dont have the patients...I would suggest thats the first place to start.... find it somewhere.... your going to need it.

It's time for me to take a break.
DH and I had a good chat and have decided to change our priorties. TTC is taking it's toll on me and the rest of my life is starting to crumble around me. (so it feels)
So I have decided to stop temping, no more BB :( (I will continue to Lurk for BFP's though) & no more reading into things that continue to stress me out.
However, I will take clomid for this last month and use my final box of OPK's.

Thanks everyone for your support. I am leaving behind a ton of baby dust & wait patiently for everyone to get their BFP's.

Easha--Your DH may be in for some competition with my DS on being the biggest star wars fan! lol... When we went to Hollywood they had several of the characters walking around... DS has pics with Yoda, Darth, Jango Fett (sp?), Chewie, and I think a Storm Trooper. He was in heaven! Supposedly my FIL (whom I've met, but never been inside his house--he lives in another state) has a whole room full of Star Wars stuff with a life-sized Darth and Yoda! That's a little extreme, but DS loves to hear all about it!

My temp went up slightly again this am, but chickened out on POAS!! At 9DPO it just still feels too early, and I just don't want to waste the money on another test if this one's negative!!! I'm :pray: for another high temp from you today so you can POAS and tell us all about your BFP!!! :crossfingers:



mollycat--Sounds like too much hard work! Just remember how pretty and clean it's all going to be when you're finished! Where's that psycho cleaning lady when you need her? :hug:



joey--What a trip!! No, I don't mean the trip you took, I mean I'm tripping out! I mentioned your name to my step mom while on vacation last week, and she said "there's a girl named Joey on there?" I said "yeah, well, my sister's boyfriend calls her Joey and her name's Joliene, so I'm sure it's a nickname for something" What a trip! Your name is the same as my sis's!!! Just spelled differently! It's such an uncommon name! Dolly Parton named a song about you! :lol:

Sorry to hear about your DH... I get that a lot from mine, too... the "don't worry, it'll happen when it's supposed to" blah, blah, blah... and no dinners out for me when AF shows either! :wtf:

Not too sure about the accupuncture--but Angel, Krystie, and plc (and I'm sure some of the others) could probably help you out with those questions.

Sorry again about your BFN's--I'm :pray: you'll be pleasantly surprised with your BT results! :crossfingers:

Sandygirl--The TTC journey can definitely be a bumpy one, it's easy to be consumed by it all. I wish you the best of luck with the Clomid, and pray your break from BB and temping helps takes some of the stress off TTC. Don't forget to let us know when you get your BFP!! Jen & Easha - Sorry girls, but I am sure that neither of your boys can possibly be as big a fan of StarWars than me!!! I don't want to bore you with all the details, but I'll just mention Gold Editions on both vid and dvd, managed to go to the first australian screening of Episode 1 (everyone dressed up, it was so funny!), meccano Millenium Falcon, an X-wing, snuck into my sister's bosses conference room because he has one of the original Darth Vador costumes from Episodes 4-6 (you wouldn't velieve how tacky it looks up close, but at the same time is was so mega COOL!!! I touched Darth Vader!!! :ROFL: ), then went and looked at his origianl storm trooper costume too, lol!. Ok, I'll stop now, I'm feeling even more of a loser now. Actually, nope, I don't care what you think, I love it HAHAHA! Seriously, how can you not all love Han Solo?!

As for the acupuncture... I can't say I totally understand how it's meant to work. Something about energy channels etc etc. The main reason I'm going is because I started seeing my fertility acupuncturist when I first came off the pill. I managed to fall pregnant on the 3rd cycle after coming off the pill, which seems to be pretty impressive. Now since my m/c I haven't seemed to have any luck falling pregnant, so I'm thinking that maybe she IS able to work some magic! Hopefully I'll be able to super-dooper-highly recommend acupuncture at the end of this month!

SandyGirl - If things seem to be falling apart in other parts of your life then I think it's a great idea for you to focus on those things for now. And hopefully that will reduce your stress levels which will hopefully help you with TTCing. Although I promise I won't say the dreaded "You just need to relax" line! :ROFL: Seriously though, I hope that this is exactly what you need. We'll miss you though!!! :hug:

Easha - I'm still liking the look of your temps! Come on high temp!!!

Joey-Acupunturing & taking herbs can help you get pregnant faster & help the baby implant better making the pregnancy healthier (also helps woman with M/S have sticky babies). I would def reccoment it , the needles do not hurt the just sting after theyre taken out. I'm actully going to stop seeing my acupunterist once I fall pregnant again because of the fact that its really good to do but if your acupunterist is really old or not experiansed with it its very harmful & mine is old!! like 85 years old..(he used to be a gynocologist too)...Thank you for asking about me and talking to me about your experance with TTC after a loss. I did TTC after wards and in the TWW, I'm scared but I know that there are other woman who have done the same and been able to carry full term... I just pray that it happens to me.I hope you had a good time...

afm- getting bigger by the day it seems. Bubs is apparently head down and is defo running out of space so have little feet jammed under my ribs (I'm only 5' 0 and slim so feeling slightly (a LOT!) breathless) I'm not complaining tho' and am now getting quite excited about meeting him or her in 9 week time. Don't know if it's a boy or girl...there aren't many surprises left in life so I'm happy to wait and see.

Jen - really needed that psycho cleaning lady yesterday. It took so much effort just to clean up the house again after dragging old timbers and wall boards through it. Actually feel quite good this morning. muscles were so sore when i woke up yesterday, but they're fine today. The room is looking great (or it will be when it's finished). DH thinks he's going to wait and do the bathroom later - got news for him. It's all getting done together - can't think of anything worse then having tradesmen trek through a new clean room. and i'll need it by may (see positive thinking).

Babyfever--Well, I actually went to the dollar store and bought a cheapie test ( I know, smilanatu, I vowed to never buy those tests again! lol...) Anyhow, it came back BFN--but it doesn't say anywhere on the box when you're supposed to use it--ie. before/after missed AF, and there's no instructions inside! It says sensitivity 25 mIU/ml--so I'm not sure if it would be that high yet on 9DPO or not. Will wait and see how my temps go!



mollycat--Glad to hear you weren't sore this am after all your hard labor! :dance: I was a little worried that you would be! I hope you aren't doing all this work alone! Nice positive thinking!!

Jen- Yeah those tests are not good for early testing darling. So don't be discurraged like I said use those answer tests for your Early testing, I had a BFP at 8 DPO with FRER/answer and got BFN on a doller tree and equate. When do you plan on getting the other test??

Easha - So sorry to hear AF arrived, please take some peace in the fact that you are now closer to ovulation. I am praying for you and hope August is your special month:hug::hug:

I am still taking my BT every morning, staying pretty high so far. Should I keep taking it?

AFM - Didn't use the prog pess this morning, cause I was so confident that my BT would be -ve, but brought it to school with me JUST IN CASE. Phoned this morning to get my results and just as suspected BFN. So bring on AF. If anyone see's her, please send her to me. I want to get her going and over and done with so I can NOT tell DH when it's O time, and get this bubba growing!

Joey - Sorry about the BFN :( I replied to you in your other thread, but like I said, I hope AF shows for you soon. As for your DH, I know how you feel, mine is a bit like that at times too. He's getting a bit over all this TTC business and just doesn't want to talk about it unless we really have to. But at least I have finally convinced him on the "it'll happen when it happens" thing - that ain't going to happen for us!! So I try to not talk about it too much, and we just have a little bit of time each day where we do talk about it and avoid it at other times. I don't know, would that work for you maybe? I wish I had some great advice for you, but I don't unfortunately.

Jen - Cycle buddy! That chart is looking GREAT :) Fingers crossed for a BFP for you this month. Nope, no POAS for me - I did my temp just out of curiosity this morning and although I know you can't read too much into a single temp, it was at pre O levels. So as I thought, I am certain AF will arrive today or tomorrow. Oh well, it was not unexpected.

Hi to everyone else that I have missed (too many posts to go back through!!) I hope you're all well!

AFM, have been up to the clinic and had a scan done to see if the cyst I had on my ovary is gone and it is - yay! But like I said, I have no doubt that AF is about to arrive - the low temp along with a bit of a headache and a sore lower back all are telling me she will be here soon. I just wish she'd hurry up and appear :wall:

But anyway, we are on to IVF now, I'm absolutely certain. I've got all my drugs ready to go - we are doing a down reg cycle so I take the Pill when AF arrives until CD21, and on CD18 I start sniffing Synarel. Then when AF arrives at the end of that cycle, I start FSH injections and continue with them until egg collection. So it will be about 6 or 7 weeks until we have an embryo to transfer. Here's hoping everything goes to plan :pray:

I may not be around heaps during the next month as we won't be TTC, but will be lurking and hoping for many BFPs!! Good luck all :)

Megs Mum - Thanks for your advice. We don't even talk about it every day. I have decided to talk to you girls on BB and my BF about any questions / concerns / comments / news, and he just hears about it when he asks a question, or on a need to know (eg - I'm going for a blood test, be back in half an hour). So, he doesn't know that I got a -ve BT, I'll just tell him when he asks. It seems pretty bad, but if I tell him, he'll just say, oh well, next time, and I don't really want to hear that. So if he wants to know, he'll ask. It's a bit sad cause we get on so well in all other areas, and beleive it or not, he wants me to be UTD, he just doesn't think it should be all this hastle! This seems to be working well - except he's getting this *****s with the fact that I am on the net to BB too much and txt my BF way too much when we were on holidays. I guess he just doesn't get it. So, I'm doing most of my emailing and BB chat at school or before he gets home from work. I guess he's just jealous cause I'm spending time with others instead of him??

Oh well. Soldier on and hopefully, THIS will be our month!

Well i had the 2nd blood test today to see if my levels have risen.

Mollycat - I caught the cleaning bug and did a complete clean-up of our office which included washing walls and moving things into different positions. It looks sooooo much better. DH and I aren't banging chairs anymore because I moved my computer desk to the opposite corner of the room, lol. By the end of it I was totally over cleaning, hehe.

As for your DH, I think men just cope with things different to us. When I lost my angel I needed to work it through in a totally different way to DH. Luckily we understood each others needs and were able to help each other through. Maybe if you have a chat to you DH just to let him know how you feel, and ask him how he feels and how you might be able to help him too?

Megsmum - So glad the cyst has gone! I still have my fingers crossed until AF shows, just in case ;) I can't imagine what IVF would be like, so if you are not pregnant this month and start the process next cycle, then I wish you all the best. We will all be here for you!

Going to start off with an AFM right off the bat (sorry, but I know everyone's wondering)--I just couldn't do it! I chickened out! My temp dropped, and I don't know, I just didn't want to waste the test! I'm only 10DPO, tho, so I'm sure the temp drop wasn't cuz of AF... and I've seen other charts with fluctuating temps that still resulted in a BFP... so I'm not completely discouraged yet. I feel like I've been saying this a lot lately, but if temp is higher tomorrow am, maybe I'll test then. Or maybe I'll just wait until 12 DPO--I don't know!!! And I may just be cruelly being tricked by my body, but I could swear that my bb's feel slightly heavier--and I thought they looked really veiny last night, but today not so much. Weird tingly feeling in armpits at times, too. Sitting here with a headache, eating Saltine crackers cuz I was suddenly ravenous, and it was making me salivate like before vomiting! (I'm never hungry this early) Also not very interested in coffee this am--which usually only happens when I'm pg. Then yesterday, our kitten ran away (but I found him hours later--whew!) and I kept getting dizzy and light-headed when getting up from a squat, or kneeling position. Sooooo, I don't know.... the temp drop just kinda threw me, and I chickened out! *making chicken noises* So, I guess tomorrow's temp is a crucial one for me, cuz if it goes down again, I'm not even going to bother testing. :crossfingers: :pray:

Jen- My mom is doing alright she went back to work and is back at her own home sleeping, My grandma is alone at home now and is having hard time but hanging in there. I actully feel that my body wasn't ready to be pregnant right away I have cramps in my back generally start at 8 DPO for AF then my period comes on time, but im only 6 DPO and having them. I just feel with my cramps its over with. We will see... My temps still look pretty good...How you feeling :D

Babyfever--Sorry to hear your G-ma is having a tough time, is she going to be ok living all alone? You may be right about your body not being ready, maybe it needs more time--but until AF rears her ugly head, don't give up hope! Jen-Thank you for the support. I told my grandma and mom when my Gpa passed that all of you girls from aussy sent out a group hug and support and she was like thats very sweet of them and thank you. I gave in and tested this morning too, lol BFN atm I surly did test way to early, I did get my bfp origanally at 7DPO last month I seriosuly thought it was an colored evap like I normally get on FREr sometimes (with my bad luck I do) and I go well if its true it will be a little darker tomarrow and it was 8 DPO. So I have 14 tests left and gonna test everymorning here on out till AF shows..I can't wait to hear your results, I really hope this is it for you

Jen, KL - certainly will fill DH in on the star wars accomplishments..... he has all the episodes on video x2, dvd'sx 2, star wars Xmas special, heaps of figurines, , darth vadar this and that, spaceship things.. The powerhouse musuem is also holding an exhibition (which we have already seen) but have to go again in case there is something different. I have also been subjected to Star Wars movie marathons - yes episode 1 through 6. Gosh must love him to put up with it all. I also get regularly quizzed so I can be educated on the ways of the force so he puts it.

Nickster - great to hear from you - cant wait to see pics of the bub

Jen - your temps still looks great, how long is your cycle normally? when are you likely to test :pray: for you someone else has to get a BFP this month as again it is slim pickings for Aug.

Megsmum - best of luck with IVF - it sounsd so complex but atleast the steps required will keep your mind occupied from date to date.

AFM - aaaarrrrgggghhh I was so sure I was UTD this month.... had what I thought was implantation spotting and everything (i have never had that before). I used to think I knew my body so well but just dont know anymore.

DH has been sweet, I got off the loo this morning in tears and although it was 6am he jumped out of bed and held me until I stopped crying. He then sent me sweet text messages signed DH (thought that was cute using the lingo). He also stayed home from karate and cooked me dinner. DH has asked me to consider getting off BB for awhile but I dont think I can. There is still too many people around that dont understand. It's the TWW that that kills me more than anything so I will have to find distractions to stop me overanalysising. I didn't record symptoms or anything this time which helped.

Anyway - next step, have appt tomorrow lunch with gyno, he wants to do tests to have a look at my hormone levels so atleast there is something to do that might effect next month.

Easha--My average cycle is 29 days, supposed to test in 7 days. AF due Sun/Mon. I'm going to watch my temp and see how it goes... if high tomorrow morning, I may at least try my last Dollar store test with FMU and see how that goes. Or I may just decide to use the better one, I don't know! Was hoping to get a BFP with the cheapie first, then confirm it with the better one (wishful thinking!). Feels like I'm always saying "we'll see tomorrow"!

Had to :lol: at DH "educating you on the ways of the force"! Aww, but he sounds like such a great, sympathetic guy! I think there's a couple jealous girls here now! ;) And so sweet he signed off with DH! See my DF would just never think of that!

Krystie--I told DS that you got to touch the real Darth Vader suit, and you should've seen his eyes--they got so big! I told him that you said you were a bigger fan, lol, and he said "Nooooo!
