Trying to Conceive after Miscarriage or Loss ~ June 08

jen805 and jodsan, thanks so much for asking about me. Im CD31, AF usually shows between 30 and 32. My temp has dropped well below o now, so i think that ive completely lost hope. Im feeling very emotional, and i have some serious period pain today, so im thinking any minute now she will show up...
well, half way through writing this message i decided to test anyway...as expected, BFN...

hello ladies! i didnt go as long as i thought i would! good news! i have ovulated late!!! i had a look at all the charts of pregnancies with late ovulation & all of them have o day as cd21. its very weird. why is late o day always cd21... but anyhow it's a positive for any other ladies who thought they have missed the eggie! just keep bding!

I just got AF a few minutes ago!!! I cant believe I'm happy about that lol ...I had follow ups and scan done and they took blood to make sure my levels where dropping I was just a little worried I'm going to start charting now to keep track of what my body is doing ...

And I wanna send prayers and love to all you ladies, this forums is the best! and congrats to all who got BFP I hope to be joining you soon...

Toccara--Sorry to hear AF hasn't shown her ugly face. It figures that when you want her to show up, she takes her sweet time! Did you ever confirm that the hcg level had gone back down to 0? This is your first cycle since the m/c, right? Could just be that your body is holding on to some of that hcg, causing it to still feel pg--and that your cycle is just trying to get back to normal. My first cycle after was only 25 days, and have been progressively getting a little longer each cycle. One more question, have you had your follow up appt. with your doc yet? Praying you get some answers! :hug:

Jen - Yes I caved this morning and got another BFP - again it was light, but darker than the one I did 2 days ago, so im happy with that, but still not overly confident. Im hoping everything is ok, but I cant say im pg yet, just in case.

I totally second what angel babies said, couldn't have said it better myself. Your o signs sound promising ... fingers crossed. Also - can't wait to come camping with you next weekend - cool! (lol)

WTH - thanks! we did a few things differently this cycle - dh took zinc and vit c, we used pre seed (3 pack), and bd'd every day from cd 14 - cd 19, incl the day of and the day after my +opk. Running out of stamina a bit in the end tho! Could have been all or none of those things I spose... Gl for catching your eggie!

issy - I've quietly congratulated you in the 2ww thread... :hug: Good news about the 2nd bfp, I hope you're keeping ok. Have you decided if you'll get a bt?

jodsan - thanks for the congrats - I am :pray: that your very faint line turns into a nice strong bfp very soon. Good luck for getting the bt results tomorrow - let us know how you go.

AFM - Firstly, am so so so so so so so glad I decided to change my flights to Sydney until after my fertile window. Glad I was so dedicated!
I had my gp appt today and she is just so great. I'd brought in my 7th and most recent hpt (yes, thats right, I did 7) to show her! She is great because firstly she asked me about the kind of early preg care I wanted - I could have as much or as little as I needed. Decided I'd like some referrals for follow up hcg bt in case I felt I needed (she gave me 3), I also told her I'd like an early pg scan referral too - done. She marked today's bt as urgent because I am a headcase - my beta hcg results came back this evening... at about 14dpo they're 212 which I am happy with. This doctor is also great because when I saw her 2 weeks after my m/c, she told me about hers (between bub 2 and 3) . She also told me that she felt there was an angel somewhere holding her baby, and somewhere was an angel holding mine (I know! I'm almost teary typing that)...
Anyway, am scared stiff and a bit surprised still... probably will be for a while anyway

pbstar--Sorry about the long cycle, not really sure about your B6 question. I, too, started taking B6, but I O'ed earlier than usual this cycle. I also had every symptom of O in the book, where as last month I had no signs of O at all! I don't know if that has anything to do with the B6 or not. I pray that you decide to stick around, but if a break is what you need, then I support it. Please look in on us now and again, and keep us informed with what's going on with you! Vanaithi--Congrats on the late O! See why you should never give up hope!! Fingers crossed you caught that egg! I wondered how long you would last away from BB--I'm grateful it wasn't a long break! Have fun in Tassi, and look forward to catching up with you on Sunday!


Toccara--It seems out of place saying this, but congrats on AF! lol... Hope the scan and BT's went well, looks like you finally get to move forward! jenushka--So glad your appt went well, and that you have such a hands-on doctor that's so understanding of what you're going through. I think it's definitely beneficial that she has some experience with the heartbreak of m/c (not that I'm glad she m/c, but that it helps her to relate to what you're going through with your anxieties, YNWIM?) Wow, 7 hpt's? lol...I don't blame you, I'm sure I'll be the same way! Thanks for asking about my charting--seems to be going ok, but I still didn't get my coverline after this am's temp! I'm anxious to see those red lines--why does it seem like we're always looking for red lines? Congrats again on your BFP--I'm so very happy for you!!!


AFM... Felt really down and emotional all day yesterday, and was complaining to DF about not BD'ing for 2 days in a row during my fertile period, and how I thought we must have missed our chance. He tells me no, no, we BD on Monday, plus we used preseed, so it was perfect. So then it got me thinking about this site I went to the other day. So I went back to the site, and entered my last LMP, and length of cycle, then it gives you the option of clicking on boy or girl. So, of course, I click on girl, and you won't believe this.... It showed that we should BD on Mon,, but for Tue.-Fri. it says NO BD'ing if there's fertile CM--which obviously I've had an abundant supply of this month! Soooo, it looks like DF was right and we BD'ed on just the right day as far as trying to conceive a girl! :woot: I know it limits my chances of conceiving, but gives me a better chance of conceiving a girl, so I'm good with that! Also, we BD'ed on the Fri. and Sat. before that, so potentially there should have been lots of little female spermies kickin' around in there waiting for that egg! Oh, for once I actually hope he's right! lol... How sweet was it, though, that he knew where I was in my cycle, and what I needed to hear to make me feel better! And all those times I thought he wasn't paying attention! It also appears that my cervix has dropped--don't know if it's medium or low, because I've only ever felt it when it was high and soft, but it's definitely lower than it was, so good sign that I probably did O already. I just want to see that coverline so I know for sure!! Grrr!

Due to the high frequency of women who are feeling down and out this month, I was wondering if we could try some sort of mini-thread inside this one. Something that could maybe put smiles back on some of those faces! Can we do something like this:

One question: Now it seems like my cervix is high and soft again. I know that CP changes throughout the day, but is it possible to be med/low at night, then be high again the next day? I'm so confused! :confused:

WTH--Don't know if you're still wondering about the follicles in ovaries, but just read that a single follicle matures on only 1 side of the ovaries. Just thought I'd let you know, since I know you were asking about it in a previous post. Hope that helps, take care!

I'm going to be selfish and do a "me" post as there is just so much going on in here I don't think I could keep up, but I will wish everyone :pink-babydust::bluedust::stickyvibesgirl::stickyvibesbo y::bluedust: AF turned up late yesterday afternoon, which in one sense I am glad about as now I can possibly start a new cycle (which I hope behaves) and I know where I am at. Shame it didn't stay away for a good nine months or so. So now I have the option of starting back on tamoxifen on the same dose I have been on, or doubling it (and doubling the side effects) or do what DH wants, which is for me to take nothing this cycle and see what happens. Decisions to make........

Hi all, got my results from BT on Thurs, Hcg only 2 so it has definately failed again. My progesterone is 30.6 and estrogen 251, so both good, but my LH is less then 1. So he thinks this is the reason for continuous implantation/mc problems. Has anyone else had this problem? Guess I really have to go to a FS now if I want another baby. Arggh.

Jodsan- I am so sorry. At least you know you were right about the implantation. I hope you decide to go to FS and get some answers and hopefully a quick fix. :hug: Thinking of you.

Jodsan - Thanks for the congrats about my degree. I've sort of stayed in the sciency field but am not actually using my degree at the moment (I know, silly huh?!). I'm a surgical vet nurse. Oh, except during the tww when I don't do surgery or xrays anymore "just in case" ;) During the tww I'm pretty much reduced to admin and consults... I'm fine with that though because I'll do anything to help my "maybe baby" :)
I really loved my degree though. I loved all the biology and zoology subjects I did. And ecology, evolution, microbiology... ok I loved it all, lol!!
Is there any chance you could start a study group with some of the people at your uni to make some friends? Maybe DH could look after you DS for an extra hour or two while you study. I had a great group of friends at uni and a couple of them were older. Oh, and 34 is sooooooo not old :P
And finally, I'm sorry to hear about your hcg only being 2. I hope you don't have to go to a FS to have another baby, but if you think that it is needed, then don't hesitate to get a referral to one. There is no shame in asking for a little help to create a miracle!!

Tina - I read your story about bursting into tears when someone asked you "how are you?" and I have done that too. One of my bosses asked me if I was ok the other day and my eyes welled up and my face went red. I just turned around so he couldn't see and said "yup, all good" and walked off. I don't know why I tried to hide it though, I guess I was just embarrassed. I hope you are feeling better now.

Jen - Yup, AF was kicked out the door so hard I hope she's scared to ever come back!!
My adivse for the day: "Never ever forget the copy and paste shortcuts" LOL! It's a bit anal of me, but I always select everything I wrote in a post and copy it before I hit the button to post it just in case I lose it. That way if the forum has a spaz I can just paste it again :D
Now... what is your naughty temp doing? I had another look and expected to see a nice 3 day rise of temps, but nooooooo. At least your CM and ovulation pain are giving you the right signs. Bring on your little girl!!!

Mollycat - Sorry to see that you are back on CD1 :( And I'm sorry you have the hard decision of what to do about your tamoxifen dose. What ever you decide, bring on ovulation so you can make your little bundle!!

Katiegirl - We haven't really met, but I wanted to congratulate you on your pregnancy and send you lots of hugs. Are you in a belly buddy group? I bet all the other girls in there are a bit jealous that you get to see your bubs weekly ;) I hope you feel much more confident in a weeks time!

Me - CD6. I hate the first two weeks before O. Well, except the "ff period" ("fun fertile period") ;)
I did some major cleaning today. You know how sometimes as much as you clean your bathroom, you just get the feeling it's not quite clean enough? Well I felt that today, so I got out the scrubbing brush, cloths, cleaning toothbrush and disinfectants and did a total overhaul. Pulled the toilet apart and scrubbed it. And even washed the walls. It looks pretty clean now!

Hi Krystielove - thanks for the hello. No I am not in a Belly Buddy group. I was last year with Nathaniel but it is too hard to do that again. I stick to the Preg after Late Loss group as all the women understand how stressful this pregnancy is. I don't think I would actually deal with people getting excited about my scans - it is kind of sad that I feel the need to have them weekly really. Even my friends know not to overcrowd me with excitement - I just find it all too hard to deal with. I like when they offer support and quiet excitement but can't deal with jumping up and down sort of stuff. This has been a dream pregnancy so far but I still can't relax enough to enjoy it. I guess that is our lot in life when we lose what we so dearly wanted and cherished. I hope your TTC journey is a short one. I don't post in here to much but I always keep an eye on everyone especially any BFP announcements. Sorry to hear you had a 'moment' at work. It is always so hard to know what will set you off - :hug:

Jen - I am glad I gave you the open to come into the recurrent and late loss thread. Thankfully we are a small group (not really a crowd I would want anyone to have to hang with) but we all try our best to help each other through our losses. I find your contributions to this thread to be really inspirational - especially the fact that you can keep track of everyone!

Tina - I am so sorry you have had a rough week. Don't feel bad about crying at work. It is so hard to hide our emotions when they are so raw and close to the surface. Does anyone at your work know about your miscarriage last year? I generally reserve my tears for home but that is because I can't deal with people's faces when I do cry! I end up even more embarrassed than them. I really hope things start to improve for you and that your TTCing brings you a bit more happiness this coming cycle.
