Clomid Advice

I have been to my doctor about my PCO and he has sent me to a gyno again.
He has also told me that the best thing for me to do to concive is to go on clomid.
I have heard alot about it but i like to reserch and ask people there opinions, So here is my question.

Does it work?
And how many of you loverly ladies have had beautiful children while using it?
And did you experiance any bad side effects?

Anything would be great to hear i just want to take the right steps after 2 years trying to concive and it not working.

did help me ovulate, but no pregnancies here.... I had no side effects (that I noticed!)

I do know three women who have had children using clomid though.... one who has adult children now, and two with children between 3 and 7 years.... so it's possible!!

Thank you =] Im sorry that it did not work for you and i think thats what is worring me abit is that it wont work with my PCO but i have been told that it helps with PCO

it helps you ovulate, so if you are not ovulating regularly, it should help with that, and then you will have the same chance of getting pregnant as if you were ovulating naturaly... it's certainly a good first step, if you have time to avoid more intensive treatments...

my specialist said if I wasn't pregnant after 6 cycles with clomid, it wasn't going to help... I have PCOS...

I was looking at a site and it says that women with PCO shouldnt use it now im confused i think i need to stop googling it lol I hope it works i have heard that some people fall pregnant the first cycle and what not but i guess i have a thing for numbers haha

I did 2 cycles of Clomid, trying to conceive my 2nd bubs.

1st cycle did absolutely nothing...

2nd cycle on the maximum dose...bammo! I got knocked up so it obviously made me ovulate and the man's lil sperm decided to swim in the right direction!

I had absolutely no side effects atall ...

I have. DS1 was conceived when I was on my first round of Chlomid, on a small (50?) dose.

And did you experiance any bad side effects?

Nothing particularly bad - I don't recall if I had nausea or anything, but I do remember having dreadful hot flashes. A small price to pay for a baby! But awful at the time. Would go from being cold to sweating right through my work shirts in a matter of minutes. Might have got sore breasts too ... ?

My first pregnancy was conceived on my first cycle of clomid but unfortunately ended in a miscarriage at 9 weeks in 2006. I am now pregnant after my second cycle of clomid with our third bubba. It helped me to ovulate as my cycles were all over the place anywhere from 38-102 days. I also have pocs and on my last scan before I fell pregnant I had over 40 cysts on each ovary. My doses were low 50mg and I would take them just before I went to bed so I would miss any side effects. It is also important that you take them at the same time each day.

After trying for 2 1/2 years and following on from laparoscopy and hysteroscopy we were blessed and fell pregnant first cycle on Clomid. I can't remember any major side effects... Bloating, bit sweaty, bit moody.

Hi,
Was on the lowest dosage of clomid and metformin but didn't work for me.

I was on 5 cycles of it. First 2 cycles I got my period in a 32 day cycle, then it started to not work for me and my cycles became irregular again.

I had no side affect though and fell naturally from temping and persistence after two years of trying.

BTW, when I went to see family doc she also said that clomid might not be good for me as it may have caused more cyst on my ovaries and suggested I go on the pill for a few months, which wasn't an option then as I was desperate for a baby.

No success for me. I did 6 cycles on the lowest dosage (50mg from memory). Blood test confirmed ovulation but didn't fall pg

And did you experience any bad side effects?

Side effects for me were:
Mood swings (one moment fine, the next crying or yelling)
Insomnia
Night sweats

That is all I can think of....

I have PCO and was prescribed it by my OBS/GYN.

I just want to add that usually they will prescribe Clomid for PCO so you ovulate regularly then if no luck to fall pg they may offer a laparoscopy. If still noluck you most probably will be referred onto a fertility specialist whom will do testing for you & your partner and decide which course of treatment they deem appropriate (ie: IUI, ISCI, IVF)

6 cycles of clomid and no baby for us, though our issue was not ovulatory. Do you know if you ovulate? I would want to get that information first before I took clomid. Clomid can dry up your cervical mucuous which is essential to conceive... so if you don't need it, it actually hinders you. Good luck!

I don't have diagnosed PCOS but I WAS put on Clomid after almost a year of TTC. I was extremely lucky and conceived first cycle. The only side effects I had was very dry skin and dry eyes. I took mine right before going to bed.

I have PCOS and was put on Clomid about 1.5 years after we started TTC.

I did a round of 50g and didn't fall pregnant. Then on my 2nd round I did 50g again, but had an injection of Ovidril to make the egg release, second time BAM! pregnant.. and now my daughter is almost 9 months old

P.S STAY AWAY FROM DR GOOGLE... NOT YOUR FRIEND AT ALL!!!!

4 rounds of clomid and no luck. Didn't even ovulate on it, I have PCOS.

Made me very loopy hormonal.

So didn't work here, but as you can see it does work for some.
