Anxious about an operation on my uterus

Hi All,

Feeling a little bit anxious about an upcoming operation on 16/01 to remove a big fibroid from my terus wall before I can try again for another baby. I'm scared that something will go wrong and my uterus won't be good to carry a baby. I've aleady lost a little boy at 20 weeks because of the fibroid.
I'm scared that the wall will be damaged too much....I know ( but it's hard ) I have to think positive and hope for a good outcome. My OB told me if the opp. is successful I'll have to wait 3 months before I can attemp to get pregnant again.

Dear Beata

I can understand that you much be feeling very anxious about the operation but I am guessing that a series of specialists have recommended that this is the best course of action for you. I have a friend who has several large fibroids removed after a late loss and she has since gone on to have three successful pregnancies. I hope that your outcome is just as good as hers.

Thanks so much for your words of encouragement. I know I'm in the best possible hands, but can't help feeling a little bit vulrenable as it's a pretty big operation and I hope it all goes well and I can do another cycle of IVF mid year. I've noticed that you're doing IVF too, I wish you all the very best on your journey, I know it's not an easy one at the best of times.

Hi Beata, I just wanted to wish you a truck load of luck. I can only imagine how scared and nervous you are but put your faith in the dr that all will go well and know that you will get your deserved earth baby next year. Good luck and come and join us over in the TTC after late loss section when you are ready, where all the women have been through late losses and are a fountain of knowledge and support.

No you are not lost, you are in the TTC late loss section but there is a thread called "TTC.........December 2008" (directly below or above your post) you can join where quite a few women chat regularly. Glad you are feeling more positive. Be sure to keep me posted.
