TTC after Recurrent Miscarriage/Stillbirth or Loss after the first trimester Sept '07

Hi everyone
Smiley if you take the correct cough medicne it breaks down any mucous you have and makes it more sperm friendly. If it is to othick the sperm can't get through. Straight Robitussin used to be the recommended one but it now comes in so many different forms so you have to be careful. You may end up with one that dries up mucous to stop a cough and you DON'T want that form of it lol. Mind you chemists don't understnad so it is rather ahrd trying to describe to a chemist what sort of 'cough' you want it for. if you say you want it for TTC to break down/liquefy cervical mucous I am afraid you'd get a funny look and sent elsewhere lol.
Green tea is really good for increasing EW as is eating baby carrots ( I don't know why but if I eat tinned baby carrots I know it works for me). Evening primrose Oil can also help but do not take it after O.

CeCe hi hun, I am with you in the 2ww, 4dpo today. Nice temps for a change too. When I saw the RE yesterday and tol dhim I had the 3 pos OPKs over the weekend he siad but you only get one positive.. hmm so ok how do I tell which is THE darkest one when they all look the same. One may have just a darker edge but I put that down to just how it dried.

Mel your days sound like mine.. school is back here now but still busy. DS23 and his g/f are still here as are my 4 overseas guests. How long are you on the synarel for? It could just be all the hormonal issues making you feel overwhelmed but also the disruption to a normal routine. I love having extras here but it deos get overwhelming and as for dishes.. always seem to be at the sink.

Spring it is lovely to see you. Congrats on the safe birth of baby Oliver.

I don't know if I updated about my RE appt. He rusn a clinic through the Royal Hobart Hospital but for anything other than talk, prescriptions etc you then have to go see him in his Rooms. So after talking about the last year and the m/c's and infections I now have to see him again next Thursday in his Rooms for a booking in for hospital. he will do a Laparosocopy and check everything including dye thru the tubes and that will be Oct 11th. He is concerned I may have scarring from the post D&C infections I had so no point doing anything until we know if the tubes are clear or not.
So for now we still wait but at least it is only two weeks not months down the track.

Well I am in the TWW too, CD28 for me. I normally get AF anywhere from CD26-CD29, and did also after my first curette too, so I am hoping that is the same this curette. I felt O really strongly, so decided to try, wasn't going to but couldn't pass up the opportunity. Think I may have just missed it though cause my pains were at the end of the two weeks where the doc told us not to have sex. So I think I should have been dtd a few days before this pain. Really don't feel pregnant, and actually did a pregnancy test yesterday and it was as negative as they come. I just want AF to come now so I can have a glass of wine. After the last month, I just need to relax.

mel - good to see you back, sorry its been a bit hormonal and hard with the kids, thank goodness for dh and who he supports in this weeks grand final, i hope they win just for his sanity lol. when do the injections start? have you been warned of any side effects?
judy - wow how interesting is all that robutussin stuff? i've never heard about it, can imagine the looks on the pharmasists face when telling whats its for, um please sir i want more mucous, "MORE mucous", sorry was doing that along the famous "Oliver" line lol, i went the green tea and it seemed to help, good luck in your tww, i so stalk your chart, its the only one i can view from work, temps look nice.

Klee I have to make my own chart page coz I got banned from FF. I am allowed to chart but have no access to sharing or even a ticker. yet others who got banned still have their chart page and tickers. I even followed all their demands so I have no idea why in the end I got the big B.
I love your Oliver accent lol. They actually showed him on TV on "Where are they now" that was a couple of months ago. It was more interesting than watching Mark Hamil (Luke Skywalker) who destroyed my ideas of what making Star Wars would have been like. my adolescent crush on him died for good that night.

Thanks Jo, they weren't too bad before, not like some people, but I guess before having Lachlan they were 28 days to the dot to the hour even. Since having Lachlan they are between 26-29 days and never knew where I was at. So hopefully I will from now on.

Judy - I think the hormonal issues have alot to do with it, but 3 kids at their age is still hard work and I am just not up to "hard work" this week. But oh well, ya do what ya gotta do. The hardest bit is that Synarel is giving me massive headaches and little kids are reeeeeeally noisy! LOL @ the cough mixture and Klee's comments, didnt realise that it was multi purpose.

Klee - How you feeling? DH is obviously a huge Cats supporter and is already trying to talk me into a big Saturday night but said it would probably be boring for me, LOL I said the whole day is gonna be boring anyway so whats the diff :p I hate footy though, so un-Melbournian I know.

Smiley - :crossfingers: O returns really soon. Just for the record, my FS told me not to just rely on evidence of EWCM with the finger test because sometimes it is inside just not coming out (ooooh sorry TMI) but ykwim. For example, one time when I went in for an u/s to check follies, I had no EWCM that I knew of but when he did the internal he said there was heaps and it was a good consistency (oooooh sorry again). So dont give up just yet. Pains are a good sign.

Well as for me, I am really worried that this IVF cycle isnt going as it should. I posted in the AC thread because I am just so worried. I took my last OCP on Friday so I should have had some breakthrough bleeding a couple of days after (just like when your on the pill) and now I am 7 days later with no so much as a spot :( I am booked in for a scan tomorrow, and should also be told to start FSH injections but now I am worried that things arent working and I wont be able to... and you know what, it would be just my luck :cry: I spoke to the nurse at MIVF and all she said is come in tomorrow and all will be revealed - so yeah not helping my worrying much.

Well that's my whinge for the day - better go get the kiddies pies out of the oven.

Jo yay I am a bombers too.. but my daugthers b/f who lives with us is VERY Cats. you should have heard him last week when they won the semi. Did he make our porr house rock or what!! Mel I had heard that about CM and I know I should have faith in it but when the (TMI warning ahead) vagina itself feels dry and hostile it is hard to beleive there is EW up ahead. I have a friend in Missouri who was TTC #4 same time as I was with Samuel. After many cycles of apparently no EW she eventually caved in and ordered some preseed. The order arrived after she had O'd due to delays in the postal system.. well .. you know what I am going to say though don't you lol.. she never ever had to open it as she got her BFP and Taryn is 4 wks younger than Samuel. So I guess she proved you can appear to be hostile to sperm but they still did the job. (I am one of those people though who believes in it being able to happen for other people but of course it won't work for me)

Sheree you have the same opinion as me then lol. I just felt so out of place and I know Tracey and Ali try to make me welcome but I just felt out of it with the others. Samuel is older than all the other kids so .. yeah.. I didn't fit in in the end.

You know it may have been 5 yrs but I do find that I can still cry for Annabelle. I lost it the other day typing up a post to a lady who was worried her baby hadn't moved (she is 38 wks) .. I told her it was much better to go in and be monitored for an hour or so then sent home than to go in too late. The midwives and OBs would much prefer that than to deliver a stillborn baby coz it was left too long before going in. Then I was talking with my aunt (she is 73) last night and my eyes filled but then she completely discounted Annabelle as "Oh yes but that was years ago"
Why can't people realise that if you lose a baby it is not like the flu and you recover as if it never happened.

we have a wedding on sat, so glad to be going actually cause the other option was to go to some friends and watch the final, they are avid cat supporters, lovely people but they would have done my head in. that and them noticing me not drinking for the 2nd year in a row might tell them somethings up

Hi Auntie M...will have results early next week...only noticed it Sunday, saw the GP Monday and had it removed yesterday. Trying not to worry but my GP wouldn't wait for my specialist to see me in three weeks (he's away till then) she wanted it out NOW? So now I have a 10cm cut running down the middle of me knee..can't bend it so can't drive...I'm bored already!!! And I'm CD 30 today and starting to wonder if maybe...just maybe....

Just a quick update before we take DH's son to spend his birthday money... scan all good, lining thin (which apparently is most likely why AF hasnt arrived) and no cysts on ovaries. Starting FSH injections today, and continuing Synarel as well. Having another scan next Friday and they said egg collection will definitely be some time in the week after next. Feeling a bit more positive today :)

I did ask about IVF costs and even though you have to pay upfront, by the time you get the medicare rebates etc it is only about $1000 out of pocket. and $30 for a FET cycle.

Ellie ohh two lots of news to wait for. I hope you get great scores on both and no worries. fingers crossed here for you.

3 kids today, DD16 home sick, DS3 and a friends DD9 who is off school sick but no-one to look after her so she is here too.

Well ladies as you know AF showed her ugly head and I didn't even have a drop of wine - aren't you proud of me. Was way to busy last night doing paperwork for the newsagency, trying to get things done b4 we go away on the weekend.

Oh and I haven't told you ladies, my sister was a couple of weeks behind me and she went and had a scan at a public hospital in brisbane and that was at 8 weeks 4 days and they told her, her baby had no legs! They told her to come back in 4 weeks! That would have driven her stir crazy with worry, so she took my advice and went and paid for a private scan yesterday which would have made her 10ish weeks and phew....... BABY HAS LEGS. Can't believe they could make that call at that gestation. The lady said yesterday that they probably aired on the side of caution, but geez louise, seriously why worry the mother like that!

Also I have some issues with so many people being pregnant around me and I am so negative towards that in my own little head. How do I deal with this, I just don't know how..... I think it is especially hard when these people that are pregnant i would have been due around the same time as.

How do you manage to get a private scan? In Tas you need a Drs referral for any sort of scan.... and most drs will only give a referrl if they see just cause and reason.
That would have been very difficult for your sister. What a wrong call that was!!!

Shereejoy - OMG that is so horrible! I can't believe they put her through that worry. I can't even imagine how stressful that would have been. Thank goodness everything is ok!

Judy - Those IVF costs are great. My ICSI cycles cost $5000 upfront but even after medicare we're about $3500 out of pocket...much cheaper for the second cycle as the safety net kicks in...but who wants to get to a second cycle right?

I'm abit self absorbed today...spending the day on the lounge as I can't bend the knee without it really hurting. I am having a serious lesson in patience at the moment...not only am I waiting for these test results I'm also waiting to hear about a job I've applied for...which will involve a BIG move to a beautiful part of WA...so my head is full of what if's...what if the mole is BAD then if would be better not to get the job...but I really want the job...and if the mole's bad I won't be allowed to take anymore stim drugs so we could be at the end of the IVF journey after all...but then again I'm CD 30 and very suspicious we may have done it on our own...ahhhh...need something to distract me...chocolate...I need chocolate!!! Thanks for listening to my crazy lady rant :)

Angelicdragon- I still cry for Noah I don't expect I will ever stop and why should I. I miss him. I think what your going through is so normal. Poo hoo to those who try to minimze your pain or grief. Poor them. I get the waiting thing too. But I'm done with it may next bub is coming my way real soon. I'm done with the waiting !!!
Mel 77 - Don't worry about to much information. Knowledge is power. It would take alot to shock me really !!! I check inside anyway. It is right consistency now but not much of it and it is still not clear more milky colour, more pain today and nausea as well. Thanks to whoever said about the green tea I tried that last night.
I dont know how you ladies do the fertility treatment month after month, your all much stronger and gutsier than your give yourselves credit for.I only did it 4 times once to concieve DD IUI and then 3 times after the m/c but it did n't work, that was enough for me. They wanted us to do IVF next but we chose not too. Then got 2 BFP both natural one was Noah and then Nathaniel.

SMiley10P - How awesome that you conceived without IVF. Stories like yours give me so much hope. I really feel that this scare with the mole is a sign that I've put my body through enough. Time to pray for a miracle! I don't think I'll ever get over the loss of our babies...you are so strong...I have only had a glimpse of the pain and loss you have experienced...you are amazing...and if you need to cry I think you have every right to ...whenever you need to xxx

ellie - did you get some chocolate? i hope it distracted you enough, i do hope this is the miracle you've been waiting for, wishing and hoping and praying for you hon. let us know how you go
