I thought I had already posted about this, but I can't find it.
Anyone breastfeeding twins or has breastfed twins? How do/did you manage it?
I'm exclusively breastfeeding Asha & Lauren. It's hard, & was especially hard in the early days, but I find feeding just one baby hard too, lol. I've always done it though. I find the sore leaky nipples & all the little annoyances worth the trouble & easier than making up formula. And I find it very satisfying & rewarding.
I've seen some mums at my local AMBA meetings feeding simultaneously, but I find it just too difficult to get them on together & keep them there. Lactation consultant gave me up as a lost cause too set in my ways, lol. I've only done it when I was desperate, ie both screaming & nobody else in the house to hold one. I can only do it on the bed & it's very awkward.
I've tried to nudge them towards a routine, but it just isn't happening. If I feed Asha i do try to feed Lauren as well though, whether she asks for it or not, as she's still catching up in weight. Last night though, Ahsa fed twice overnight & Lauren slept through. And they're supposed to be identical.
We're muddling along just fine & they're growing well, I'd just like to see some general discussion on this topic.
