clothes for twins "0000" or "000"

    Hi there

I'm new to this Forum currently 29 weeks with twins. My babies will be due in Summer just wondering what is the best size to buy 0000 jumpsuits or 000.

I was going to buy bonds wondersuits for them in the hospital 000 but will they be too hot for babies when they come home. ??????

    Thanks Pip

    Hi Welcome,

I brought 0000 clothes for my twins and they are know 3 months and they are just fitting into 000.
In hospital I used the clothes supplied by the hospital and I only took the clothes in that they were going to wear home.
Bond suits may be too hot for them as they are summer babies.

    Again welcome
    Cathie

I'd say go with 0000. It's likely that your babies will be on the small side of average - mine were about 3kg (around 6 and half pounds) each and for the first couple of weeks, the only clothes that fit my 2 were the 0000 wondersuits (bonds sizes are generally smaller) then they grew into their 000 wondersuits and their 0000 of everything else. Does that make sense? Probably they would have been in smaller sizes for longer except that my babies are tall. A friend of mine had twins with almost identical birthweights as mine and hers wore the 0000 wondersuits for a lot longer because they weren't as long as mine were.

I've never had a summer baby so not too sure about the wondersuits - you will probably want something warmish for them for evenings by the time we hit March, I'd say. Before that, it'll just be too hot.

Don't buy newborn clothes until they are born!! Or at least don't remove the tags.

My twin sisters (12 months old), were born at 33 weeks gestation (1600g & 1670g) and were in 000000 when they came home from hospital at 5 weeks old. If it eren't for their length they would barely be in 00's now at 12 months. They weigh less than 8 kilos.

Hi Pip, welcome to BB and congrats on your twins!!!
For the summer baby thing, they will likely be in onesies or even just singlets and nappies a lot. You don't need to go crazy buying little clothes. Having said that, if you are having twins, they will likely be a bit smaller (I know it isn't always the case, but I'm sure it is usually) so I think it'd be safe to have some 0000 clothes. My Natty was in 0000 for a couple of months, and she was just a singleton. (But lived in singlets and nappies unless we were going out - she was born in December.)

Thanks everyone for your advice. I have kept the tags of my 000 wondersuits so I can change over when they are born. I do have a few 0000 short sleave jumpsuits that a friend gave me so that should come in handy.

    cheers Pip

    Hi,

Just wanted to say I would definitely go the 0000. My son was 9pound 4.5 oz and 54cm long so not small and he was too small for a lot of the 0000 the bonds wondersuits were pretty good in the 0000 a bit loose but fine. so I would 100% say the 0000 as far as the weather goes I'm not entirely sure, Noah was born mid july so it was easy..winter clothes..this baby is due in april so I'm a bit confused too re: the kind of clothes

I would say it would probably be too hot once you get home so maybe you could get some of those pants with feet included and lond sleeve button up tops bonds make (same material as the wondersuits) then you could do warm on one end and short sleeve on the other

i found the opposite with wondersuits, DS always was a size bigger in wondersuits than anything else.
He was 10lb 4 and too big for most 0000.

Twins i would think 0000 would be fine as they "average" on the smaller side of a normal singleton babys size.

My twins were in 0000 for ages. They were 6lb4 and 6lb8 born. They did even have a few 00000 things that they fit into for a while but not too long.

    Hi Pippin

Welcome to BB and congrats on the twins!

My two lived in 0000 bonds wondersuits in the hospital because it was cold with the aircon, and then were in 00000 for a few weeks, and at 8 weeks my daughter is still in 0000. My bubs were 6'7 and 6'3 at 37 weeks. I would definately have some 0000 handy and you can always do what we did and send DH to the shops for smaller sizes if you need them.

Good luck with the pregnancy and clothes shopping
