    Breast Pumps

I have been reading alot about breast feeding twins lately as I am due to give birth in late December and many books recommend that you express. I was just wondering what the best type of breast pump is and whether I should purchase it before I have my babies or wait until afterwards. I would appreciate any information you could provide.

    Thanks,
    Bria

Bria, I personally would wait until afterwards as you can try some of the pumps they have in the hospital. You can also hire pumps and with twins you may wish to hire a double electric. Although if you do hire one and you find that you don't like that model etc you can take it back which you can't if you purchase.

Hi girls. I would say DEFINITELY buy a pump BEFORE that babies come, that way you are more organised and can sort out how to use it etc. I bought the m....a instyle advanced which has double pumping (or single) and its fantastic. I still use it 2-3 times a day, but more so in the early days especially- to build up my supply and also because Addie and Will were in special care for a couple weeks. Even if they hadnt been early, i still would have been pumping to keep my supply up, and also to have that bit extra in fridge/freezer for emergencies.
This pump was recomm by a friend who is a counsellor with the ABA, and i couldnt have had any better advice! It is designed for more frequent use than some others, but is quite expensive. I bought mine from toys r us when it was onsale. If you look at it though, the cost of hiring a double pump adds up and it sort of cancels itself out in the end, and if you are determined to BF, then it is a really good investment.
Any other questions, feel free to ask.
Good luck girls, busy days ahead!!!
