Hey Yvette,
I was wondering how you were travelling. How are you feeling?
I was in AMBA for the first five years of the girls' lives and was even on the commitee!! I was the newsletter editor for our then local branch. I had heaps of fun! The best thing I found was the playgroups. We had clothes swaps and info days and picnics. My old branch shut down but I know there is one in the Hunter Valley, I think it's pretty big too, might have to look into it again!
Hey Miky, Welcome! How are you going with your little bundles?
-
hi all,
still here, jst haven't had the time to post. You know all the free time we have with twins -NOT!
I love my AMBA group. They have been my lifeline and would very much recommend that you all join and PARTICIPATE!!!!!!
I go to playgroup with the kids and have since they were even a few weks old. I go for my sanity more than anything. Our club is a big one with 150 families, so we get anywhere from 40 - 60 kids and around 20 adults at playgroup each week. So nice to talk with other mums that are going through the same trials and tribulations!!!
Yvette, congrats on getting so far. You are a legend. I feel so sorry for you trying to carry those babes, but keep those legs together - won't be long now!!!
bTW girls, i found out that b/c we had twins we are entitiled to a free tummy tuck and sometimes if we breastfed, a free boob job. Apparently its one of the criteria for getting on the freebie list in a public hospital. Some of the other mums that i commicate on line to in another forum, are getting, or have had it! So there is finally a finacial incentive for having twins lolol
Mikey congrats on the birth - the time will fly. I promise that the fog will clear soon - like in another 12 months!!! hang in there and get as much help and sleep as you can!!
for those girls twin mums in waiting, hope the pg is going well. I know that it is not a comfortable thing but it sure as hell is worth it!!
As for me, everthing is good with me and the kids, busy trying to keep them entertained and wear them out - and me as well.
They have both just hit the next level of development, and it is getting easier. They now can be reasoned with and are remembering and applying their new knowledge to different and new situations.
I am finally starting to see long term rewards for all the hard work. AMEN
anyway off to start my work - another late one for me
take care all

I was involved with AMBA for the first few years, and on the committee too, Tiff. found them a great source of support, especially in those early days!!!
Hope everyone is well and enjoying their kids/pregnancy
-
Odette, do you have a website or anything about the tummy tuck & boob job. I'd love a tummy tuck but only want a boob lift, kwim. :)
-
juzzy
the topic was acutally talked about in a forum but apparently they wen't to their doctor who then referred them to a specialist who decides if you qualify and puts you on the waiting list. Some of them also paid a small fee and managed to get it done almost straight away.
so yeah if you are serious i would speak to your local doctora about it.
hope this helps
take care

New
Hi All,
It seems like only yesterday I was telling you all about my IVF tww. Now I am the very excited expectant mother of twins!!!
I am still very early (9wks). And could sleep my life away.
Very lucky to have a great DH looking after me like a princess and my four and 3/4 daughter is so excited to finally become a big sister.
I don't know where I would be without your threads to read as I feel like a new mother all over again the "unknown" about twins is quite scarey but we would not have it any other way.
Look forward to reading more of your great advice!
Mel

Great to see everyone getting chatty in here.
Welcome Mel! How exciting, another new mum pg with twins. I very much relate to the sleeping thing, I was very sleepy in my first trimester with this pg, more than with the other 3.
-
Thanks for the info Odette. :)
Congrats to all the newly pregnant mums with twins. I was tired during my whole pregnancy with the girls. :(
Take care & TTFN.

-
Hi Mel and congrats on the twins!!!
-
-
Congrats Mel, well done.
OMG I can't believe how many sets of twins there are here. Now is it something on the phoneline? Better not get too close to that line I reckon! LOL Not really in the running for 6 treasures right now, or ever LOL.
I hope you are all doing very well, seems like it, and the matriach is still hanging in there. Well done Yvette you are so tremendous!
Cheers michelle

My latest baby weights:
Baby A 2822g or 6lb 4oz
Baby B 3749g or 8lb 4oz
Wondering if I might need to look into the tummy tuck situation, lol.
-
Yvette, that is wonderful! What magic things have you been doing to make them grow to good sizes??
-
Yvette
Those babies must love your tummy! They are fantastic sizes. One of your twins is the size of both mine put together at birth!! That is awesome. It is also fantastic that Twin A is head down. YEAH!!! I was going to suggest to you a way one of the other mums in our twin group got her twin to turn. She sat is a warm bath with a frozen packet of peas on the top of her stomach- and it worked!!!
Good luck for the delivery and please keep us informed!!!
Rest up!!!
How is everyone who is expecting faring up???
Everything great here and kids are doing fine
take care

Yvette, you are doing GREAT!!! You must be sooooo pleased
-
Hey Yvette,
I have been thinking of you heaps and wondering how you are going!
Good to see your babies are such a beautiful size! You must be feeling very full!!
Hanging out for their births!
Did you know that women who have had multiple birth can oftern get their TT done under medicare? I think there is a small gap but still...I'm considering exactly that and a bb reconstruct afterthese little babies are born and I've finished feeding them!!
-
Hello girls,
Well today as you all know we had our scan. So to get it out of the way we are having a boy and a girl YAY!!!!! We took both grandma's with us and they both loved it and found it so fascinating. It was so exciting finding out the sexes.
I have now added my temporary website of pics. There is the 12 week scan of each twin plus a pic of me at 16 weeks as well as todays ultrasound pics. I will add a more recent pic on Monday.
Both babies are doibng very well and are growing nicely, they are both the same size as Shayla was at 19 weeks. That is a bit scary as Shayla was 8lbs, I am not a fan of thinking that there will be 16lbs of baby in me lol.
Clare
-
Congrats Clare that is so great. I am very very happy for you. I had a look at those pics too, you look well.
-
Have been very busy here, & not much time for BB. Trying to catch up a bit before I go off & have these babies.
Jo, the only thing I can think of is eating a lot, lol.
Odette that sounds like a great turning tip.
Thanks Tam.
Hi Tiff.
Clare, great to hear your babies are doing well, & how lovely having one of each.
I'll have my babies soon & start boring all you pregnant girls with advice, he he.
My friend who is 1 week 4 days ahead of me with twin boys had her babies yesterday, 7lb 11oz each, & had them vaginally. Woo hoo!
Have updated my website again. The latest is:
-both girls still head down!
-booked for induction next Wednesday (who’d have thought I would agree to that eh?) It’s so I’ll be assured of getting the good Ob who is my best chance of a normal vaginal birth.
-I’m assured it will take very little to get me going.
-still planning no epidural or test dose only, depending on how bubs are when I get there, & how induction goes.
-sleeping quite well & only up about 4 times a night.
-pelvic pain had eased up heaps, til I walked around the shops a little bit yesterday, now I’m all hobbly again.
-had contractions Wed night for just over an hour, but they stopped. Very short ones, & felt like tightenings only with cervix pain as well & quite painful.
-got GP to check my cervix, very soft but still closed. Just need it open enough to break my waters on Wed so I can avoid prostin/Syntocinon.
So now I just really want to go into labour naturally late Tuesday night please. Tuesday will be a busy day with all the sex!
-
Yay Clare how wonderful! I will take a look at your pics asap. (am in Qld at the moment so no time to peek LOL)
What a buzz for the grandparents.
Cheers michelle
-
Yvette wow, how great!!!! You have almost the perfect twin pg. Well in my books anyway. That is great that both heads are down. I am hoping that the same will be for me too!!!
-
Hi there everyone...
Message from Kelly (BellyBelly) at 10.32am....
"Yvette's waters have been broken and they're waiting for contractions..."
Wishing you all the best Yvette!
-
YAY \:D/ Yvette, I have been waiting with baited breath to hear how you were going. I am sooooooooo excited for you. YAY, YAY, YAY
-
-
YAY Yvette!! Can't wait to hear all about the beautiful birth of your girls!
-
Yvette
Hi. Have been thinking of you a lot lately. How is everything going???
-
Hello all my lovely twins buddies.
For anyone who hasn't noticed, my babies have arrived!! So to update my records on page 1:
Name: Yvette
Location: Melbourne
Conceived: Identical Twin Girls
Gestation: 38+2
Names & Ages: Asha Frances & Lauren Rose, born 24th August 2005
Notes: Monochorionic, diamniotic. Vaginal birth.
Birth story is nearly finished. Am flat out breastfeeding them atm. Lauren was too sleepy to suck at the breast until about a week ago, so was fed ebm by syringe then bottle, but is now feeding well & putting on weight, although still not at her birth weight. Asha has exceeded her birth weight & is quite noticably bigger.
Tam, great to see you're keeping a journal too. Nice little bump you're getting there now.
-
Yvette - details amended. :)
-
Hey Yvette
Have been following your breastfeeding trials with the girls in the other thread. I just wondered how it all has been for you, not just the breastfeeding, but the twin experience full stop. I follow your journey with much interest. I am over the half way mark now, so not long to go.
-
Just wanted to let you all know that I have just updated the web site with belly and baby photos
-
Hi Tam. Great u/s pics there, I love the one of your baby boy showing us his muscles. How lovely to be having a girl and a boy.
Well Tam, I'm close to getting the full birth story finished & updating the website again. I know I've been saying that for a while, but bear with me, I've got newborn twins, he he.
Everything's going fine, just struggling to get any housework done. Busy feeding babies.
-
Yvette sounds like things are progressing well. Looking forward to reading the birth story.
-
Tam I just checked out your site, what a great journal you have! Who is your OB?
-
Thanks for signing my guest book. My OB is Dr Vich, he is behind South Eastern Private Hosp. He has been just GREAT!!!
-
Hey Yvette, if you do not mind, I was wondering if I could have a look at your birth plan. Being my first baby(s) I am unsure as to the content for a birth plan.
-
oday I had my 26 week scan of the twins. This was to see how the twins are growing and that everything is progressing nicely. All is good and they are nice and big. One twin is 855 grams and the other is 870 grams. The average weight of a single birth is 820 grams. These babies are going to be bloody huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am now taking Iron tablets as my iron levels are getting quite low but they were low with Shayla as well. As long as I keep taking the tablets all should be fine.
I have added the scans to my website Twin 1 is a profile picture and Twin 2 is a front on face picture (as though it has stuck its face into one of those nail things that leaves imprints). I will add a fat photo in the next few days.
-
So glad to hear things are going along so well Clare. Hope they aren't too big LOL, it will be a tough labour if they are!
Best wishes Michelle
-
Great news on the twins doing so well Clare.
-
I have just put an update of my belly on the website. It is amazing how much I have grown in 3 weeks
