Doula/Trainee Doula for Lake Macquarie NSW

    Hi,

Recently I switched models of care over to the Birth Centre 40 minutes from my place and I am thinking that I would love to have the support of a Doula or even a Trainee Doula would be welcome.

My husband for lack of a better way of saying it is pretty half-arsed about the whole thing. He has done a Calm Birth course with me - absolutely NON of the follow ups or visualisations.....I think he is taking the "she'll be right on the day" sort of attitude. I bought the Birth Skills book by JuJu Sundin thinking it should be an easy read for him.....it's still on the floor on his side of the bed

Anyway, after an induction with my first that I didn't do so well with (epidural) I am scared of the pain this time around - but worse because I won't have access to anything else but gas.

I am thinking that I really would love another support person that can guide my husband and help me too - I think a big part of my success is my mindset going in as well as support on the day and at the moment I'm not convinced my DH can do it(35 weeks today as well )

If there is anyone in my area, I'd love to hear from you. Money is a bit tight, but I'm sure we can work on a fee for one meeting prior to, the birth and a debrief meeting after.

    Thank you!!

    Congratulations on your pregnancy!

My name is Keira and I am currently studying with the ADC to become a qualified Doula. So i am looking for some lovely mums and families to support to reach my course requirements.

I have had two children of my own, I absolutely love being a doula. I'm easy going, open minded and always willing to learn. I am truly passionate about pregnancy and childbirth, this year I am furthering my studies by doing my childbirth educator training at the ADC

Overall my aim is to ensure that you have a more positive birthing experience, Supporting your choices and enhancing your journeys

Childbirth is a life changing experience, i believe with extra support, information, education... a more positive childbirth experience is possible.

I am in Sydney but will travel happily if you dont mind me being so far. I worked as far as the blue mountains and as for more information email me at k.mcevoy@yahoo.com.au
