Question Ceremony/reception venue - how much?

I've been looking at ceremony/reception venues and getting package quotes and just curious as to what you spent hiring the venue and feeding your guests? Also how many guests did you have?

we had 100 guests that came and our venue/food/drinks was included in the price- which was $103.50 a head. We had our ceremony at a church and that was $600.

We had 70 guests. It cost us $100 per head, including a four course meal and all drinks, including spirits. It was an extra $350 to use the garden for the ceremony.
ETA- Forget to add, we got a 10% discount because we got married in winter- it is normally $110.

    We had a ****tail reception.
Our package was for 5 hours (30mins ceremony, 4.5 hours reception) included ****tail food, beer, wine, soft drink and juice as well as various things for the ceremony eg, chair covers/sashes, red carpets, candlabra (sp), signing table table covers
All worked out about $60 per head and we had 55 people.

Things work out cheaper if you have a wedding not in peak season and on any other day but saturday.

OUr ceremony was held in a park on the beach with views to the Glasshouse Mountains, we booked through the council so the cost for the venue itself was nothing but we paid $2000 to have it decorated by our designer the way we wanted to I can't remember how much per head it was but our reception venue cost us about $8500 that included our AMAZING menu and chair covers/sashes etc - We had a drinks package for the whole course of the night and had an extra $2000 on the bar tab for spirits etc as well (And got $200 change at the end of the night ha!) We had 70 guests... Of course, there were many other costs involved but this was the bulk cost for the food & drinks etc... Our total cost of the whole day was about $35,000 - More than we had planned as we paid for everything completely by ourselves, no family help etc - But we wouldn't change a thing! Good luck!!

Thank you all for your replies.

We're only having about 35-45 guests and have been quoted anything from 4500-10 000+

The venue I immediately fell in love with when I saw it turned out to be the cheapest! Very surprised (but happy!)

ETA: Sunshine - I would prefer to get married on a Sunday (and still might yet) but my dad, grandparents and a few other relatives that will be attending are coming from interstate so it will have to be in the morning in case they need to be home Sunday night for work the next day if they can't get holidays! Definately not getting married in peak season! Hate the heat, so thinking autumn/winter
