    Christening Questions

    Hi Everyone,

Was just wondering how many god parents kids are supposed to have. We were going to have a christening for both of our kids in November and people keep asking me who Im going to have as god parents. My sister in law reckons that u can have whatever number u want but I wasnt too sure. Do u have to have a certain amount of females to males if u know what i mean? They are being christened "Church of England" just incase this changes things.

hi there - you need to contact your local church as every church of england or anglican rev is different.
Generally the tradition is 2 godmothers + 1 god father if a girl and 2 godfathers + 1 godmother for boys. they have to be baptised christen themselves.
your reverend however might b casual like ours and not mind how many but we are still being tradition with our daughters baptism in october (2 x gm + 1 x gf),,

no shouldnt matter if father isnt but the godparents must be and i assume you are?
Some rev's also ask you to attend a few services prior to the day.
in the anglican church it is a baptism and thee leaders are reverends fyi

We just have a godmother for our son because that was all we wanted. I think just go with what you feel is the best for your bub.

It depends on the church. Both my boys were Baptised Anglican, but at two different churches due to us moving. The first insisted on 3 Godparents, the second didn't mind how many so we had 2.
