    Godparents

We would love for our DD to have some special people in her life -- some extra eyes, hands and hearts -- but are unsure about whether we want to use the term 'Godparents' since we are not religious. I think it is a beautiful concept and a great way to honor two very important people in my life. Does anybody else have any idea of suitable names we could use instead?

    Thanks

We were the same..didn't want a religious side to it. We have mentors who are exactly what you are describing and we named guardians should something happen and we are unable to care for DD.

we are not religious, but still use the term godparents...simply because it is a recognised term by everyone and its meaning is implicit

We asked each of them if they would consider it, and they all (she has 3) agreed. It is also dcumented in our wills but we had no other service or ceremony etc...as again we are not Christian
