Red face Help me find a costume... and quick!

    Hi!

I have a fancy dress 40th birthday party to go to on Saturday night, nothing like leaving it to the last minute hey!

The theme for the fancy dress is Singers. I have no idea who to go as!

Does anyone have any suggestions that I can use for both myself and DH, that can be done easily without too much effort?

Thanks girls, and next time I promise I'll start thinking about this a bit earlier

Sonny and Cher (in the 60's - NOT as she was dressed in music clip "if I could turn back time" with all those sailors lol)...

straighten your hair - loose clothing, wrap a band around your forehead and off you go!

How about a big collared-shirt and seventies suit for your DH with a big fuzzy wig for a Leo Sayer look, and sequiny mini dress/gold glittery mini shorts with a cute top (and some fab heels), blonde wig and pink lippy for Kylie Minogue for you?

Great suggestions so far girls, thanks!

Leesa - LMAO at the "turn back time" music clip! I reckon my hair's too short now for the Cher thing, didn't she have long dark hair back then?

How about Oliva Newton John & John travolta in Grease?
Billy Ray Cyrus with a flannelette shirt and mullet?
High School Musical with basketball shirt and cheerleader ensemble?
Hope you have a fantastic time!

    Wink

..... Janine what did you end up going as ? (i'm sure i'm not the only one here who would love to know )

OMG Feeb did you take me back in time, when Madonna came to Melb years ago (concert at MCG) i was lucky to have the same hair style as her vogue videoclip (big blonde curls) so i added a pinstripe pants suit (which happen to be one of my work outfits) ... and when my sister & friends met me to go to the concert they couldn't stop laughing at me

LOL girls, I ended up going as Danni Minogue, thanks Leesa for the suggestion!
My hair style is similar to hers at the moment, so it was fairly easy, nobody really guessed who I was as I didn't have any stupid wigs on or anything!
DH went as Billy Ray Cyrus (how embarrassing!) he dressed up in tight jeans, checkered shirt and cowboy boots with a mullet wig, he certainly looked the part!

....... Leesa i think that might be worth my booking an airfare for and fly over to SA to see and um participate in, though my pinstripe suit is long gone with the 1990's but i recently have gone back to being blonde , lol

Janine WOW that sounded like heaps of fun, your DH must have a lot of character about him to be game enough to go dressed as Billy (my DP sux when it comes to fancy dress he goes as HIMSELF )

... Dedicated_Mummy (Kass) had fancy dress for her 21st and i went as a bikie-chick BUT i think i looked more like a * hooker * given the stares by her old relo's
