Ideas for a beach party???

Hey all
I'm in the process of organising my dads 50th b'day and we're having a beach party whoo hoo!!!
Has anyone got any ideas for decorations/food/drinks???
We were thinking sand in the backyard, blow up beach balls and toys, umbrellas in the drinks etc...
Any help greatly appreciated

I'd be thinking along the lines of the 50s beach movies (Frankie Avalon & Anette Funachello).

Of course I'd have things like blow up kids pool filled with blue jelly & have a few "fake" sharks in there & have jelly wrestling. But I have a sick sense of humour.

It's an old movie with Annette Funicelleo and Frankie Avalon. You know those shiny, happy 50's movies where things are 'swell', and all of a sudden they start dancing in the sand with their surfboards......with the big HAIR and polka dot bikinis?
