Question When can I send them??

More than half our guests are travelling interstate and from o/s for our wedding in 4 months. When should I send out the invites knowing that they need time to book airfares/accomodation etc???

    TIA xx

I sent out my invites 3 months before wedding. Overseas guests knew the date as soon as we booked 15 months before wedding.

My brother and his fiancee are sending theres out about 3 months before also.

    Hope that helps

Good luck with wedding i loved organising ours!

8 weeks is normal isnt it, so if they are coming from interstate, at least 8 weeks.

6 - 8 weeks is usually the norm I think...but I'd go for around the 8 mark for those interstate. Though if they know you well enough to be at your wedding I would assume they also already know the date & would have thought about flights etc. We have two weddings interstate coming up & have already booked accom, babysitters etc as we have known about them for some time now.

As for overseas I would send them a bit sooner I think.

If some are coming from overseas as you have mentioned ... if it were me i would be giving them at least 3mths ... people will need to save for airfare & accomodation ... & they may want to make the most of the cost of their airfare & make a short holiday out of it therefore may need to give some notice to their employer, etc ...

I have an interstate friend who recently gave me 6wks notice for her engagement party ... it wasn't enough notice as i had already committed myself to another party & also i needed more time to save monies for the airfare, accomodation,... also DP to take time off work needed time to be organised, etc ...

I got an invite today for a wedding at the end of September - accom where the wedding is books quickly and they also have people from O/s etc. We got a "save the date" email in January.

For our wedding we gave all the o/s people 6 months notice and invites out about 3 months prior.
