Veronica, the greatest love song EVER in the world has got to be Gorecki by Lamb...
"If I should die this very moment
I wouldnt fear
For Ive never known completeness
Like being here
Wrapped in the warmth of you
Loving every breath of you
Still in my heart this moment
Or it might burst
Could we stay right here
Until the end of time until the earth stops turning
Wanna love you until the seas run dry
Ive found the one Ive waited for"
There's a gorgeous extended version and some funky club remixes around the place too...
LOL - just like a scene out of "So I married an Axe Murderer" :cryinglaugh::
that sounds brill Schaz - I think though I'd kill myself if I had scottish music playing!
I walked down the aisle to "Amazed" by Lonestar - it still chokes me up...it was actually preceded by the first 8 seconds of Bad to the Bone by George Thorogood.
We chose "That's Amore" by Dean Martin when cutting the cake and passed out the lyrics on a small sheet of paper and everyone sang to it...it was hilarious.
mrs R - that's a great idea!
wonder if it would work with "american pie" (which is what I sing to get DS to sleep!)
The pre-wedding music and throughout the ceremoney was more traditional but stuff we both love. WE have fairly eclectic tastes - I love disco, 80s whatever and some dance (mainly inspirational) and chillout. Mr L hates disco 80s, but loves dance and whatever.
I walked down the ailse to "Hymn" by bond - instrumental.
Signing - was 'You raise me up'
We wanted the music to be a reflection of us, which it was. I wasn't allowed any disco though:p
We didn't have a DJ we jsut had a selection of our favourite songs playing, set up on the laptop with backup cds jsut in case.
I really love the band (Iguess) "Bliss" and their song 'Kissin'.
I will try and dig up some more 'inspirational' dance/chillout stuff.
hehe thanks for the suggestion guys! But my wedding has already been and gone (thank gosh! LOL Just kidding) but keep the suggestions coming for the other people that may need help.
I ended up having DJ Sammy -We're In Heaven(slow version) as my walking down the isle song. I listened to it the other day and it brought tears to my eyes!! These are the lyrics..
It really was a beautiful song.:
DJ Sammy - We're In Heaven (Slow Version)
Baby you're all that I want.
When you're lying here in my arms
I'm finding it hard to believe
We're in heaven.
Oh, thinking about all our younger years,
There was only you and me,
We were young and wild and free.
Now nothing can take you away from me.
We?ve been down that road before,
But that's over now.
You keep me coming back for more.
Baby you're all that I want.
When you're lying here in my arms
I'm finding it hard to believe
We're in heaven.
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart.
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven.
Now, nothing could change what you mean to me.
There's a lot that I could say
But just hold me now,
Cause our love will light the way.
Baby you're all that I want.
When you're lying here in my arms
I'm finding it hard to believe
We're in heaven.
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart.
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven.
Now our dreams are coming true.
Through the good times and the bad
I'll be standing there by you.
(We?re in heaven.)
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart.
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven.
And for our first dance song we had.. Bob Marley - One Love .. which was something different. Dont remember what we had for cutting cake, I told the DJ to choose that as it all got too hard.. Oh and we walked in to U2 - Beautiful Day
