Do you know anyone musical? BIL wrote a song for us and played it and my sister sang - BIL is in a band but my sister is just a good singer - it was the most beautiful thing... And so personal.
It was called 'Forever Eternally'
We walked down the stairs (aisle) to the Avalanches, frontier psychiatrist...
Okay it was a little weird, but Dh, dd1 and I all walked down the stairs (aisle) together. The song on the other hand was really big when we got together and everytime we hear it we think of the good times, and how we got here
btw, our friends who knew the history of the song cried with laughter, our parents on the other hand, were very confused!!
Anyhow, goodluck in finding the right song for you and your wedding!
Like some of the PPs we had Pachabel's Canon in D. Was a long time favourite of mine so was a given - our musician was a harpist in a garden wedding setting. I always did and always will love it regardless of how many people walk down the aisle to it.
What type of musicians are you having if you really like the song by Angus and Julia Stone is it the lyrics or the music that you like as if its the music could you do an instrumental version so the making a baby on the beach lyric wont matter - lol!
I guess with a church wedding there can be some more rules you need to abide by. Its a shame in some ways as it means you can't always pick the music that is special to you as a couple.
