Hi Everyone! Thought I'd ask what everyone did for Mother's Day today!
Mine was pretty low-key. My day started with getting up to a baby refusing to settle at some stupid hour whilst DH snored his head off followed by the mandatory phone calls, grocery shopping (because I ran out of time yesterday!), shopping to replace my lost sunnies, lots of giggles with DD, take out for dinner and now debating with MIL and DH about DD's Dedication service! BUT, I wouldn't change my day for anything!
breakfast at MIL, visit to mum at 11am. youngest boy asleep in bed by 1pm. DH off by then doing private cash work and still not home.
ME - all arvo i laid on lounge and watched entire series of FROM HERE TO MATERNITY on W2 on foxtel...
i got spoilt with fake ugg boots and elmo dressing gown from my boys. DH gave me 1/2dozen yellow roses and a beautiful diamond cluster ring. the cluster is in the shape of a flower!
MIL also gave me a bunch of flowers.
DD slept beautifully last night and woke at 6 am then straight back to sleep, woke at 9.30. We did presents in bed - a gorgeous frame with 6 black and white photo's of DD in it - 2 sets of 3 were photo's in a series (eg. first photo starting a smile, second photo more of the smile, 3rd photo a big grin) - I almost cried it was so beautiful (my DH is amazing). Then DH cooked me pancakes for breakfast, DD was being very grizzly so he held her while I ate then he ate. Off to my parents house for late lunch where my sister cooked lunch and desert all on her own. Home, DH bathed DD, fed DD and put her to bed, light dinner,watched Grey's...about to go to bed. I had a lovely day.
Chelsea woke at 9am.... had cuddles and kises from her, Made the numoerous calls to mums and grandparents. DH gave me my pressie (slippers) and cards, few tears cos the words he wrote were so moving. Then we headed out to the local chicken shop and got some grub, then went to the park for lunch. Came home and Chelsea and i had a lay down.....where she was hanging off the bed... caught her in time before she rolled off! Then tonight we had a lazy night watching tv. We were going to have a nice dinner but wasnt really hungry....
Had a great 1st mothers day and cant wait for many more
I woke up to the kids singing me a happy mothers day song my ds had made up and then giving me some drawings they had done, it was so sweet I loved it, we stayed home all day and really did not do anything at all, DH is not home for mothers day this year so it was very low key, I was supposed to be going out for a big family lunch but because I am still a little sick and so is DD I decided it wasnt worth the risk to my dear grandfather who had an operation in late march.
I chatted to my mum for an hour and to MIL for a while the kids said hello and happy mothers day to them too and thats about it,
all in all it was a special day, ds and dd made sure of that and it was precious
Had a gorgeous morning with lots of cuddles in bed, choccies and flowers and a gorgeous watch from the kiddies. We then went to the cinema to see meet the robinsons ..nice family movie then off to mums for afternoon tea then home..gorgeous day!
We went out to a lovely greek restaurant for lunch, and I drank too much wine and ate too much food. Then we went to the park and let the kids run around. Then came home and had a sleep.
I got some lovely presents & cards. I got a panini press that I wanted from Marc & the kids, and from Paris I got a bracelet that she made at school and a lipstick she bought from the Mother's Day stall. And the lippy is actually ok and I would wear it LOL!
We made a Power Point Slideshow for MIL (which she loved) and when she next visits we plan on reliving Mother's day and I'll take her out to get a facial, gold class & then afternoon tea, as we never get to spend mother's day together so we're going to fake it on another day My only wish was we could do it NOW lol!
My day started with my DD racing into my room to wake me to say Happy Mother's Day.
Went back to bed for an hour, ogt up had a coffee.
Did some washing, then made profiteroles.
Called my mum, had a chat, filled profiteroles and melted chocolate.
Finally when my DH got off the computer we went to see MIL, took profiteroles around with us.
Had hamburgers and chips as an extremely late breakfast (around 2- 3pm)
Eventually left there, DH went and did a workout, finally came home and we went and ordered chinese, came home to eat and watch Big Brother!
I got a beautiful pack of home made vouchers from DD to do the dishes, clean rooms, brush my hair etc.. it was so beautiful.
Also got a gorgeous triple scented candle, which I have just started burning now
i got to sleep in (which at my house is til 8:30, but still an extra 2 hours) yay. saw my cousin and her daughter int he morning, then DH, my mum and my brother went to the footy, and DS and I went to the Zoo with MIL and BIL.
so both DH and I spent mothers day with our MIL's.
I got a lovely card from DH and DS, and some macadamia chocolate, yum-o!
then we watched the B@stard Boys mini series, cant wait for part 2 I hope its tonight!
After another c**p night with Charlotte, Tim got the girls up I feed Charlotte in bed, then he got there breakfast, whilst i got to watch tv in bed. Madsion wrote on my card ( with DH help) and she gave me my presents elmo and care bare pj's ( she picked these out, can you tell)
Went to see my step mum for lunch then drove an 1 1/2 to see my mum and went out for dinner.
Plan was - Sleep in, get up, get dressed, pick up DD from her Dads, go to the park for lunch with my parents, siblings and their partners.
As DP had to go into work - got up around 5am (after being up at 1am then 2am), fed Emily - who wouldnt settle for a couple of hours, i had a shower then decided to find something to wear, (i knew this was going to be painful - but..) DP rang & said he'd pick up DD as he'd finished work early, i thought GREAT, more time for me to get ready, after getting angry about nothing fitting i thought i'd have a look at theclothes id put in the top of my wardrobe before i started getting big while being pg. I grabbed the stool and started pulling things down and trying them on, went to get back on the stoll and slipped, smashed my shin on the side of it and feel on the floor (the noise this made i thought id snapped my bone!) Just as im laying on the floor, nearly screaming from the pain, Emily wakes up in her cot screaming, i get up hobble down to her. DP & DD get home & give me some tuilips & presents (a ring & a 2 hour massage!! YAY!) Off we go to my brothers, SIL & i are going to walk to the park. All the way on the walk i get phone calls about where we would sit at the park as the footy was on & no car parks anywhere, needed to be close to the toilets as SIL is pg. I start getting angry telling them all just to find a spot - i dont need to be there to arrange that too (i alway get stuck with these things). Get to park, have a nice lunch, leg very sore. SIL & i decide to walk back to my place, DP, DD & My brother drive. Get home to be told the dog got out of the laundry, had been on the coutch AND had wee'd on it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wont go into the rest but - i couldnt wait to go to bed to end the day!!
But the good bits did make a nice day!
