I understand not wanting to pay for flights and accom. when there just isnt the money to spare that, maybe there is an alternative? I do think you need to sit him down and explain that getting this job would mean, more money, better security for you and the little one, all those things are more important than a beard IMO. As for budgeting, you can do anything you put your mind too You could divide the pay up into weekly pays and NOT touch the other, or like someone else said ^^ you could change your bills to monthly...
