    I'm biting the bullet

On advice from a girlfriend who is an editor, I'm going to actually start writing my book.

Do you have a special place that you write? Do you carry around a notebook to jot down ideas?

I'm just trying to work out the best way of getting what is in my mind down onto paper.

yeh I'm thinking getting a journal of some type to carry around to jot things down

i really can't repeat a lot of the things i'll be writing about with others around

when i bring my laptop home for the weekend I can always head down to the coffee shop and write there for a while

There are a few places I like to write:

There is this little dingy cafe near where I live and I like to steal the back booth on a Saturday morning, order a hot chocolate and write.

I take a notebook down to the park if its a nice day and jot down ideas - I find it hard to write anything concrete this way as I prefer to have my laptop to write with.

I carry and notepad and pen EVERYWHERE. You never know when you will be inspired.

Angelpunks - one word - Moleskine.

If it's good enough for Ernest Hemingway it's good enough to me. Just the right size for one's handbag too.

I love those!!! I've got one for my religious stuff. Will buy more I think.

I think I'll keep with the notepad I've got currently and when I start the next chapter in my life I'll mark the milestone with a new notepad to continue my writing journey.

Terrific! Good on you! I would suggest the old school long handed way too! Those moleskin or leather journal covers (I found some REALLY fab ones online), they are inspiring on their own.

oooh that sort of book eh?

Sounds great. I reckon a real book over a notebook. I find it extrelemy difficult to be creative on a laptop which is a PITA cos then I have to type everything after Ive written it all by hand.
