THey all sound great, im just not sure about Blake and Myles, they sound too american. Id go for Miles and change Blake. Older brothers wife, I think Francesca is tooo long if your going to hyphenate unless you call her Fran?

I hope we get to read the finished product, whenever that is!!

Thanks so much for your input girls - this really is helping!! I am making some changes to characters names now - I think establishing names first in the story helps to define the characters themselves. Will let you know what I have decided on when I have written a synopsis for each character.

LisaL - not sure when it will be finished (it is barely started!) but I'm sure I will be back in here asking for advice on bits and pieces!!

I'll be watching, and keen on writing my own book at some stage, you've inspired me to think about doing it sooner! BOL!!

Ex Husbands new love: Lydia Wright
Parents: George and Elizabeth (Beth) Hamilton
Older Brother: Blake Hamilton
Younger Brother: Myles Hamilton
Older Brother?s Wife: Francesca Mander-Jones Hamilton
Nephew: Oscar Hamilton
Best Friend City: Colette McCarthy
Best Friend Home: Sarah Fenwick
Ex Lover/Rekindled Romance: Oliver Miller

Still deciding if there will be anymore characters and the names are not set in stone yet. What do you think of the male characters names?

I think that the 2 names I have made bold seem too long and made up.
I think that perhaps the main character should have a shorter middle name if her surname is going to be hyphenated and long like it is.
I also agree that readers could get Oscar and Oliver confused.

I've always wanted to write one great story - but I just never got around to it!

I saw a picture in a magazine of this grand Europen style house that backed onto a beach (I think it was in The Hampton's in the US) and the story just grew from there! I can't wait for this weekend when I can really throw myself into it.

I have written character descriptions and purposes already and now I just have to tie it all in and create a plot. Most importantly I need to figure out the ending - that is always the hardest part!

I like the suggestions of Blake and James for the rekindled romance name... AHHH it's so hard - and especially because the first few chapters involve him so I'm finding it hard to get a start on things! He's not from the same background as our heroine - he's more laid back and not in that "upper class" circuit...
