Awwww Gabby's new pictures are sooo cute :) Glad to hear things went ok last night even if Gabby didn't sleep so well during the party. Yay on Neil being good again too :)
Oh yeah I fretted when Zander was away, it felt sooo weird to not have all of his little noises through the night. Yay at Lara starting to look really good now Fi. Zander hasn't had a bath yet in the big bath, but he is loving his little one at the moment. He has learnt to splash!! I tell him he's clever so he does it more! I can see it, this time next year I'll be yelling at him for splashing all over the floor LOL!
IKWYM about the laundry Christy - it's a killer! I see your point about having the support around. I hadn't thought abut how things are elsewhere & that we are the ones that do things differently.
We had an interesting night to say the least last night. Zander had his bottle at 10.30 & screamed the house down until 12.45 - I think he only went to sleep cos he was exhausted. He then woke at 3.25 and I managed to rock him back to sleep pretty quickly. He then got up at 5.15 for another bottle & slept until 9.30. Now if I could just get rid of that 3.30 grizzle I'd be one happy camper.
Oh oh oh, big news as well. Mum & dad said that Zander laughed on Saturday night. I thought yeah right they imagined it, while being disappointed that I missed it. Anyways, he did it again this morning :D It was soooo cute. He's also starting "talking", making all sorts of noises & moving his mouth like he's trying to tell you something. Now this is what makes all the sleepless nights worthwhile :D
-
Awww Deb she looks adorable. Hope that Gabby had a good jog :)
Fi, lucky you getting hand me downs that are worthy of using. Personally they are the only ones I pass down too but others......
Yay for Jenna having a big girls bath with Daddy. Mark is yet to take Tehya in with him. It took him forever to take Noah in so I think he will be the same with Tehya. Now the poor bugger rarely getsa a shower on his own, actually neither do I. I have a bath with Tehya most nights. It's our thing.
Tehya slept ok last night. She's hanging off the bb again atm. She has been feeding up a storm too. Gastro seems to have gone for both Tehya and I, poor Noah on the other hand is STILL going. He has had since last Thursday, so not the one just gone the one before. This is just far too long. Have to take him to the Dr's not that I know what they can do for him.
Have just put Tehya down in her swing. I swear that was the best thing I brought. I just put her in it and turn it on and she relaxes and crashes out most of the time.
OMG how good would it be to have a wet nurse. My Mum often jokes saying that I could be one because I have so much milk whenI have my babies. Stuff teh wet nurse and give me a nanny thanks. I don't think that I really like the idea of my bub sucking on someone elses bb.
Take care
Trish
-
Sarah, there will be lots more laughs to hear and see too. Tehya did a couple of weeks back and I thought that I had imagined it only Mum was there and saw/heard it too.
The talking is so sweet hey. I love it when they open their mouth up and it's like they have a huge story to tell but it just won't come out. Tehya is getting good at just laying there looking around and talking to anyone that will listen. You can sometimes hear her down the hallway. Obviously she's going to be a chatterbox like her Mum :)
How about a little YAY for last nights effort from Zander. Atleast he didn't put up too much of a fight when you cuddled him back to sleep.
Take care
Trish
-
Our swing is the same Trish, an almost instantaneous cry stopper!
We had a very big yay at Zander sleeping so well last night. I wold love it if he keeps it up :)
-
Yay to Zander for laughing and "talking".
Deb, Gabby is so cute!
Trish, glad you and Tehya are feeling better.
Fi, yay at Jenna having her first big bath. It is so great when they love their baths. Lily loves to splash everywhere, its so cute.
-
Awww! How cute that Zander is laughing already! And yay for such a good sleep too! You are right - you could do without that 3am grizzle though, hey?? I might have to get Gabby's swing out again and see if she likes it better now.
Trish - poor Noah. I hope the Doc can do something for him. Surely there's an anti-gastro type thingy he can take? LOL @ you being able to be a wet nurse. Ikwym about the thought of your bubs drinking from someone else tho. I guess that's why it isn't done anymore because of aids and other diseases. You would wanna know the person really well! I hear you on the nanny. I will have one too please!! ;)
Thanks for the comments re. Gabby's pictures. She isn't quite giggling but the smiling is getting more frequent. One of Neil's mates dropped around and saw her for the first time. She grinned at him like there was no tomorrow! So I took her to over to Neil because she hasn't smiled for him yet. She gave him a few giant smiles too! YAY! Very cute! She seems far more settled. We have just got back from a walk which was nice. I think it's something that Neil and I will have to do more often. Good for all of us! We should have taken the dog but she ate her lead last time we had her tied up (at my baby shower). Silly dog!
-
Definately try the swing again Deb. It's great, usually give me a chance to make dinner in peace! Yay for Gabby finally giving daddy a smile. I bet he was soooo proud.
-
Hey girls,
hope your long w/e was a good one.
Sarah, how fantastic that Zander is giggling for you... they sound so cute when they giggle. Yay at the talking too. Violet has been very talkative the passed week too, no giggling tho.
Deb, yay for neil finally getting to see his little princess smile for the first time.
Trish, I don't like the idea of a wet nurse!! I think I would make a good one too... how much do they charge? lol!! I think I would prefer a house keeper over a nanny, I am not too good around the house.
I got home this evening around 8:30pm and the front door was open. I said to Alecia, I am sure i locked it when I left (stayed at mums for a couple of days, Wato went to melb for the w/e) so anyway Alecia stayed in the car while I went to check..... I got to the wire door to find the front door on the floor inside! The glass in it was smashed and the whole door frame was also still attatched! The door had fallen in! I have no idea how. So it took me a while to clean up all the glass and I put news paper over the wire part of the other door. Lucky it isn't cold!
Thanx for the congrats on graduation... such a relief to have it over with!
Violet has been a lot better the passed couple of days, lets hope I haven't jinxed myself this time by saying something about it. She is really starting to become her own little person, gooing and smiling and watching oyu as you talk to her... awww I love it!
Tanya
-
Tanya, you are so lucky that no one had gotten into your house and raided it. I felt sure that was where your post was going to. Can I have the housekeeper too? Or is that just being greedy. Mark tells me I can have one as long as she's goodlooking and he can use her body to keep him off my back :)
Don't you love the way bub stares at you when your talking to them. Like they are hanging onto every word you have to say. It's soo sweet. I guess we should make the most of it before they know everything :)
Deb, yay at Gabby handing out the smiles, too cute hey. I'm thinking about going for walks, does that count? Noah is bad for running off and I don't know how I would go if it were just me, Noah and Tehya. Don't fancy having to leg it after Noah with the pram. Maybe I need a walking partner.
Had an ok night with Tehya, nothing to rave about unfortunately. I would be much happier if Noah slept in past 5.30 - 6am. I am usually awake feeding Tehya when he wakes but it would be nice to be able to catch another hours sleep. Damn school hoildays and I haven't slept in once. They finally go back tomorrow. YAY =D>
Take care

Well Girls,
ME and NAe had plaesurable long weekend, heading just outside BAllarat to visit her dad "Grumpy as we call him" instead of Pa. Went up saturday afternoon came back Monday morning. On Saturday night we left Nathaniel for first time with Grumpy & partner Chris. First time either of us was away at same time. We both enjoyed a movie out "In Good Company" a funny movie, however not what we expected, but still good. It was an enjoyable night out yet weird knowing we didn't have to worry about Nathaniel for first time. Very surreal sitting watching movie being just the 2 of us.
HAd a great relaxing weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, no mobiles had them both switched off and enjoyed relaxing weekend.
Great to see you are all doing well and enjoying parenthood.
Kind Regards
Rob
-
Rob that is sooo funny!! Alecia's gradndparents have the same names as Nath's!! He is Grumpy and his wife is Chris! But she is now Granny (with bells on) and has been for a few years now. Great to hear you had a good w/e, well done for leaving bub for the first time too.. one of the weirdest feeling tho, don't you think?
Trish, it's not often I lock the front door anyway, but I was gone for a couple of days so yeah I am lucky. I got a student who is living next door to help me get the door outside... it was pretty heavy! There aren't many ppl here on w/e and even less on long w/e. Most of the students go home. Just in case you didn't know or had forgotten, I live on a Uni campus... it's just like a little town.
Tanya
-
Glad to hear you guys had a good weekend Rob.
What a shame you can't get a bit of sleep after Tehya's mornign sleep Trish. Noah won't go back to bed??
Gosh Tanya, I was expecting you to say someone had broken into your house as well. Lucky you had someone to help you clean up, I can imagine it was quite a mess.
As for us we had another interesting evening. Zander seems very unsettled of an evening at the moment, but is sleeping longer :-s He had his bottle at 6.30 & was refusing to sleep, but we finally got him down about 10.00 but he was grizzling every 1/2 hour or so. Had his next bottle at 1.30 so 7hrs since the last one. He was back in bed again at 2.00 but was grizzly again, all I had to do was bounce his hammock & he was ok though. He then slept through until 8.00 when I woke him up to have his tablet & breakfast. It's weird, he'll go a lon time between bottles now, but just doesn't sleep the whole time. I suppose getting up to bounce him every now & then is better than having to get up to him screaming all the time. So it's a small win :)
-
Hi Everyone,
Well we have finally moved into our new house - yay!! It is very exciting being here and still can't quite believe it... Matthew is going okay, bit unsettled, probably getting used to new sounds and smells. It was hard moving with a bubs though, much harder then it was being pregnant.
Sounds like bubs are all going okay... great to see.
Sarah - I wish I could leave Matty with someone overnight as well.. atm I'd settled for a day so I could try and get this house organised! How do you find the hammock with Zanders reflux?
Deb - Gabby is a cutie, I just love her photos - esp the one with Neil at his parents plot, it's sad isn't it that she isn't going to meet them? It's the same with Matty's granddad, we just have to make sure that he knows all about him esp since we named 'Albert' after him. Yay on getting the kitchen together.
Tanya - congrats on your graduation! Is your schooling done now? Does that mean you'll have to move off the campus?
Scarlett - I must confess that we also watch Matty channel - isn't it great!
Rob - great to hear that Nate is going well.
Trish - thank goodness your and Tehya's gastro is gone, I hope that poor little Noah doesn't have to suffer much longer.
That's all from me for now - enjoy bubs.
-
Good luck with the organising Nell. I can barely get enough time / energy to do the whole lot of our ironing these days let alone organise an entire house. The hammock is really great for Zander, he loves it & it's so easy to settle him back to sleep (most of the time). I'm not so sure it's made a difference to his reflux though.
-
Hi Everyone,
We are having a bad time at the moment. DH is stressed out of his mind and so I am trying to jolly along him and the baby. I don't know if I can cope with both of them. It is all falling apart. The nursery still isn't finished and so DH is trying to get bits done. The toilet was dripping and DH tried to fix it and managed to make it worse, so much so that we had no water. We had to call in a plumber. He went to the supermarket without his wallet and today he dented a car coming out of the driveway. These are only the things that I can remember. He is so messed up that he can't cope with Charlotte and gets annoyed. The last two nights Charlotte hasn't slept, no doubt she can feel the tension in the house. I am so tired. Hopefully things will improve. They can't keep on going wrong.
The hairdresser trip was good. Mum was able to come with me and took Charlotte away with her when she got tired and grumpy. I feel much more human with a haircut.
It sounds like everything is going well with everyone.
Nell, I can't manage getting the ironing done. Moving must be terrible.
Sarah, it sounds like Zander is getting there slowly.
-
Awww Maryann  Sounds like you're really struggling at the moment which by the sounds isn't helping poor Charlotte. Fingers crossed things get better for you guys real quick.
-
Maryann - hugs for you matey. It's hard work, hey? Sorry to hear your DH is stressing so much. Maybe convince him to go out to a mate's place for a few hours and grunt together and be men for a while? I know that it certainly keeps Neil happy (though he does it far too often!! LOL).
Nell - good to hear you are all moved into your place. It was a little sad taking Gabby to Neil's parent's plot. It sux so much because his Mum died when she was just 32 and his Dad when he was 52. Such a complete waste because they were so young. I had a little bit of a melt down in the first week when it finally hit me that they wouldn't be around to see Gabby. Baby blues! I am sure Matty will know how fantastic his Grandad was and how proud he would have been of him! I hope he settles down in his new surroundings soon.
Sarah - it sounds like Zander is really sorting his schedule out. Like you said, much better when he is not screaming! Gabby is sort of doing the same thing (though I imagine she wasnt' screaming as much as Zander because of reflux etc.). We are getting closer to the 6 week mark so I guess it stands to reason that our bubbas are getting used to life "on the outside" ;)
Tanya - OMG @ your door!! That would have totally freaked me out! I am so glad no one knocked off any of your stuff. Yay on Violet getting better in the last few days. There must be something in the air!
Rob - good to hear that you and Renae got a bit of a break. I can't wait to be able to do that (though I think I would rather sleep than go to the movies, LOL). Still, it must have felt weird!!
Trish - you poor thing. Don't you wish that you could push a pause button on toddlers?? I have said it before - I don't know how you do it! I hope it gets easier now that school holidays are over.
We had a big day today. Lauren came over and looked after Gab while I had a shower. After a feed and wrestle with the pram because the damn thing wouldn't collapse, we went in to Kmart to show off Gabby. I used to work there (for 6.5 years - way too long!! ;) ) and Lauren still works there so everyone was all over her! We didn't get in to the actual store for at least an hour because everyone wanted a cuddle. I bought a little outfit that said "I Love my Daddy" (I also have a t-shirt with that written on it for Gabby). Lauren also convinced me to buy a purple bonds tracky. We got the baby bonus finally so I thought "Ah, why not??". I also got a little bag to hang on the back of the pram to put some of my crap in. The basked underneath is a bugger to get to when the pram is set up for newborn. We then went in to town to look in Pumpkin patch. OMG - Sooooooo many cute things! AND there were things with bumble bees on them! Still, I couldn't justify spending $30 on one tiny little thing that she is probably going to wear for a month then grow out of so no money was spent there. I got her a photo album from Myer. All the nice ones are like scrap-books now - not the old fashioned photo albums with the sticky stuff and the clear plastic. So I bit the bullet and bought one with some photo corners. It's obviously the way to go! It's gorgeous - pink with 3 frames on the front with b&w photos of baby's bits in them (feet, hands etc.). Very pretty. I figure I will fill it with the super nice photos of Gabby and put all the other photos in regular albums. I used the baby care room in town to feed her and it was great. They have a comfy couch and chairs in there as well as all the other stuff (microwave, change tables etc.). I was impressed! Now I am exhausted!
Oooo.... our power points and gas is being connected in the kitchen as we speak! YAY!!!
-
Deb, sounds like you had a great day. I think Tehya has one of the shirts you are talking about, does it have on the back "Daddy Loves Me"? I love Pumkin Patch stuff but have yet to go there since Tehya was born. I know I can't be trusted :) I know exactly what album you are talking about too. I have one with just one window on the front for my scrap album. I am going to get Tehya a dry mount album - similar to waht you got, to put her portrait pics in with photo corners and I have the other ones in a slip in album that I got from K mart. Now that I am a scrapper I am very consious of how I tore my pics and make sure that every thing is arcival quality. Yay at the power points going in too.
Maryann, I hope that things start to get better for you guys. Your right too babies really do feel the tension. Maybe you need a break for a bit.
Sarah, No chance in Noah going back to sleep until atleast midday or some time thereafter. Bugger hey. My big boys were always late sleepers, Noah wasn't too bad when he was going to bed late but since daylight savings has ended - we saw that as the opportunity to make his bedtime earlier :) he has gotten up way too early. It isn't soo bad during the warmer weather or when you have to go out early, but on the cold mornings all you want to do is stay in bed. Heres hoping he will too when the cold weather hits.
Nell, YAY at being moved. I'm sure that Matty will settle in really soon. It really is hard moving when you have kids, I couldn't imagine how it must be with a newborn though.
Mark is at touch footy tonight. So far things are going ok. All of the kids (and me) are bathed and fed. The Simpsons is keeping them entertained atm. Tehya is in bed half asleep, get the occasional whinge and I just go and replace the dummy for her. Hoepfully she does get up before 9pm though so I can give her a big feed and get her settled. I think we may have thrown her abit tonight as she had her bath just after 6pm and usually she doesn't have it til around 8pm. Just wanted to get it done before Mark left. Hope I'm not sorry for it later [-o<
Take care

Hi All,
It sounds like all are enjoying their musical swings. Nathaniel loved his to start with and since doesn't like it anymore anbd just screams. Prefers to be put in the floor rocker or just on a blanket on the floor. So if anyone who hasn't got a musical swing and is interested in our let us know if you want it.
Rob
-
Well, last night wasn't too bad. It was hard to get Charlotte down and so she didn't go to bed until 8:30 but after that I was up at 12 and 4 for feeds and I didn't have to keep on jumping up to comfort her like I did the night before so I am happier.
Trish, how did Tehya go down after her early bath?
Deb, it sounds as if that kitchen is coming on beautifully. It will be fantastic when everything is done.
-
Maryann, she woke up a few times last night - like when I was playing trivia but the boys got her back to sleep for me :) She woke again around 9ish so I gave her a feed and she stayed awake for a while. Couldn't really say exactly what time she crashed out as I was holding her on the lounge and I think I feel asleep first 8-[ Woke up around 12.30 and went into bed and gave her a feed then another one around 4am and up by 6.30am. I guess it wasn't soo bad but would love it if we could cut out the 4 o'clock feed.
Sounds like Charlotte settled good last night. Actually I think both Charlotte and Tehya are running on the same clock.
Rob, what s pity Nate doesn't like his swing anymore, Tehya loves rolling around on the floor. She rolls from her back to her side and back again, also seems to be able to move herself around a fair bit too.
Take care
Trish

Hi Girls
I wont be changing your thread over since there is only 3 days left of the month, so not much point really :)
Love
-
LOL at the "I Love My Daddy" t-shirt, Zander has the same one!!
Deb I think we have the same photo album in blue! BIL bought it for us for Christmas. I have a stack of digital photos I want to get printed off so I can finally start the album. Woohooooo at getting the power points put in.
Sounds like you were totally organised last night Trish. Well done to the boys putting Tehya back to sleep so you got some mummy time.
Yay at Charlotte sleeping better last night Maryann. Here's hoping it continues.
We had another pretty good night last night. Zander went for 10hrs between feeds (6.30-5.00), but was grizzly all night - had to get up to put him dummy back in about 15 times! He woke up again at 7.15 & I couldn't be bothered jumping in & out of bed again so I put him in bed with me & we had a snuggle until 9.30
-
Sarah - sounds like you got an ok sleep last night? Still, getting up to put the dummy in so many times had to be a pain!
Trish - I bet losing that 4am feed would be bliss, hey?
Maryann - good to hear you had a better night.
We went to visit aunty Fi Fi today. I took over some evil custard pecan cake and some cheese and bacon rolls for lunch so we pigged out. Yum! Fi is doing really, really well and Jenna is as cute as ever! I will load up the two pics I got of her and Gabby before my batteries went dead again!! Grrr!!
-
Sarah, maybe you can try sticky taping the dummy in ;) Seriously though that can be as big a pain as having to get up for feeds. Long time between feeds though, bet he was starving when he finally woke properly.
I wish I got Mummy time, I crashed out before Tehya even did. Still atleast the rest of the kids were in bed.
Deb, gorgeous pic of the girls together. Gabby is getting so big, especially when you put her next to Jenna of course. Can you bring me over some custard pecan cake please. It sounds very yummy.
Thanks for not changing us over yet Kathryn. I always find it hard to remember what was said last :)
Thank God Noah goes to pre school tomorrow. I seriously need a break. He is so demanding. Bad thing to say I know, but it is so nice when it's just Tehya and I. Have a baby shower to got to tomorrow, so there goes one of my my quiet days. Still I don't have to run around after Noah.
Tehya has been a good girl today. She went down for a nap at 1.30pm and slept til 5.30pm so no complaining here about that. She's had a couple of feeds and a big poo and has just been sitting around smiling and chatting away. If only they always stayed like this. She has been abit fussy on the bb the past 2 days though. She starts to drink then takes her mouth off and back on again, turning her head back and forth. Not sure what the problem is though?????
Better go, dinners almost done. Mark has made Taccos. Yummy.
Take care
Trish
-
Trish - Gabby has been doing exactly the same thing on the boob! Just being really fussy. She will suck for a while then start pulling herself off all the time and turning her head side to side. It drives me nuts! I thought it was just on my right boob but she did it on both today. Then she screams when I sit her up like she wants more! Grrr! If you find out what the deal is, let me know! Probably another "stage"
Wow! Gabby has been asleep for 3 hours! I have managed to do the dishes, make dinner, eat dinner. She has stirred a couple of times but we have just cuddled her back to sleep.
God I love how she smells. Isn't it the best smell in the world??!!
-
Deb I think we might be going the same way tonight with getting up a hundred times to stick his dummy in! I know what you mean about how they smell, mmmmm :D You know what is cool as well that I thought of yesterday - the soles of their feet are as soft & nice as the rest of them. Or at least they will be until they start running round! How cute is that pic of Jenna & Gabby, they're gunna be best buds.
Hehehe did you see the Simpsons episode Trish where they gaffa taped Maggie's dummy in?? Enjoy your baby shower tomorrow & your quiet day without the boys.
-
Glad to know I am not the only one with my nose permanently attached to the top of bubs head - its a wonderful smell isn't it.
Sarah - maybe elastic??? we couldn't get emily to take a dummy as she just kept knocking it out of her mouth with her hands. very frustrating.
Nell - congrats on the move, hope all the unpacking etc is done. I hate moving at the best of times and can't imagine how tough it would be with a baby.
Tanya - bugger about the door, but lucky nothing was missing.
Trish and Deb - Emily does the same thing, usually with the right bb. It is really frustrating as she gets crosser and crosser as shes isn't getting fed. sometimes sitting her up and burping seems to help.
It is really strange to hear you guys talking about cold weather - still 30 degrees plus here during the day and I think maybe about 25 at night. Am finding I really miss the cool weather we used to get when we lived in brisbane. On the upside, I don't have to worry about whether or not Emily is warm enough which is a good thing. Was almost ready to say she was sleeping through and then last night we had a shocker. She keeps migrating to the top of her cot and then bangs her head again and again as she tries to move and wakes up crying. Have no idea how we stop this as it doesn't seem to matter how low down we put her to start with. Weird. Is also back to wanting feeds almost every 1 1/2 hours during the day - another growth spurt???
-
Scarlett - ah don't you love those growth spurts?? As for Emily wriggling to the top of her cot, I have no idea how you would avoid that! I am just glad that Gabby stays put for now, LOL. Wow @ the warm weather you guys have. I would go nuts! It's 30 degrees here today and I am not really looking forward to it. Still, at least I am not preggers!
Sarah - you are right - the soles of their feet are nice a smooth. I love massaging Gabby's feet with sorbolene. She seems to enjoy it.
Speaking of which, she really liked her bath last night. She was so funny when I put her in. Her eyes went really wide and she did a few deep breaths. I thought she was going to scream like she usually does but, no, she had fun kicking around for at least half an hour.
Getting her to bed last night was a little more difficult because she had a brilliant sleep in the late arvo/early evening. The bloody dog outside kept barking and waking us up. Gabby stirred once but I think it was wind. I make sure I burp her and hold her upright at least half an hour after she has her bottle but it's still not enough sometimes. Damn wind! Still, she slept from 11pm-6am so I am happy. Seems to be the routine for now.
She woke up after only an hour of napping this morning too because of wind. I brought her into my bed and laid her down on her side but that only lasted another hour. Now she is asleep in her bouncer. She had such a good BF this morning (and a hugggge play) that I don't want her to feed again before 10. So she can wake up whenever she likes now ;)
We have our MCHN appointment today so it will be good to see how much weight she has put on. I also have to ask about when I get hooked up to a mother's group. I have been hanging for it and forgot to ask last time. ](*,) Has anyone else been set up with one yet?
-
DAMN!!! Stupid laptop, I just lost a massive post #-o Okey dokey, here we go again...
Deb, there is no way our ECHN would set me up with a Mother's Group, she probably doesn't even know what one is! Nah seriously, she is a shocker & I wouldn't expect her to know where they are! Yay for Gabby enjoying her baths now. Zander has decided he loves to splash :D We tell him he's a clever boy & he splashes even more!! Sounds like her sleep is going really well now too which is great. And yup IKWYM about the wind, it's horrible isn't it? Maybe try the Brauer (sp?) colic drops... Apparently they are really good for wind.
Scarlett, I wish it was that warm here. We seem to have 4 seasons in one day at the moment - anyone would think I was in Melbourne!! *ducks for cover* As for Charlotte squirming up to the head of her cot, maybe put a rolled up bunny rug or nappy at the end so if she does get up there & bumps her head it won't wake her up?
Still had the same night again, getting up a hundred times :-({|= I got sooo cranky with Aaron too. He had yesterday off work to do something for dad & also today off and he hasn't gotten up to Zander once during the night. I went off at him this morning cos he hasn't gotten up once since going back to work. Fair enough, during the week it's fine I understand he needs to sleep for work, but over the weekend & when he's off work, getting up just once would be great.
-
Hey all, everyone is doing so well and I dont think I have time to post too many personals. I havvvvvveeee to sleep!!!!
BTW - the reason Jenna has no pants on in the photos is she was having "nappy off time". I dont actually let my daughter sit on play dates with no undies on. How rude!
Everytime we take her nappy off, she does 2 wees and often a poo. I have to admit I just think to myself - YES - there are 2 nappy changes I get to miss!! Very selfish mamma.
And Deb - thanks for coming over, the goodies were yum, but Shane went into the fridge this morning and said - where did the sunkist come from? Oops - you brought it and I filled you up with coffee instead. So Shane thanks you - he has the bottle at Lara today. 8-[
As for the mother's group, I think the next lot start in May, I'm going to be in Jo's group which really surprised me since her baby was born about 4 weeks befor Jenna. But apparently they are 8 week things, so I guess its all good.
Also Sarah - apparently you have the right to go to whatever MCHN you wish - if you want a transfer, just call one of the other centres and do it. One of the MCHN at my branch is a twit too. She tried to make me feel quilty for bfing in the waiting room, cause she wanted to close up for lunch. Suggested I should push her in the pram to get rid of her wind rather than over my shoulder. Yeah good on ya lady - and then where am I going to finish her feed - on a park bench halfway home? Absolute num-nuts. But the other one is lovely, so I'm happy.
Bye

Hi girls
We have the same "I love my daddy" top too!! I think they must've sold quite a few :) . We got it given to us in a size 0000, so not much wear out of it.
The door has been fixed... Wato got home when I wasn't here and didn't know WTF was going on.
Sarah, I can't blame you for growling at Aaron, it all gets a bit much when you are constantly getting up and it feels like you are totally alone! Violet had been screaming for about an hour one night and I felt like I was going to scream! Wato said the next day that he came to the door a few times but didn't know what to do. I told him that he could've come and taken her cause he knows how stressful a screaming baby can be. So now he'll come and take her... He's pretty good anyway he's been looking after Emily most of the time.
Deb, good to hear Gab is starting to enjoy her baths. I think the only one that Violet didn't like was her very first one. Every one since she has LOVED!!
Scarlett, I hope Emily's growth spurt end soon (if that is what it is). But honestly if that was me, I'd be trying to get her back to sleep... 1.5 hours is too much!! I hope you are resting heaps.
I had a bit of trouble getting Violet to sleep last night, but she has slept well ever since. I got a good nap this morn, when both girls had a sleep :D

Tanya - yay on the door being fixed AND for your good nap. It always makes the world of difference when you get some sleep. Sounds like Wato has been great with Emily. Good on him!
Sarah - sorry to hear that Aaron hasn't been very helpful. I must admit that Neil hasn't ever gotten up to Gabby but that's because she only wakes 4 a feed and he can't do that. No excuse for Aaron tho considering Zander is bottle fed. I hope he is more obliging from now on.
Fi - I didn't even think to ask if it was ok to put the pic of Jenna up. I figured that it doesn't really show much of her rude bits but, still, let me know if you want me to take it off Gabby's site. No worries about the sunkist. I am glad I could help quence Shane's thirst while he is working hard out at Lara. Yay @ being in Jo's mother's group. It's good that you will know at least one other person already. I asked about mine and it's not going to start for another 3 weeks! Apparently there are more babies in Grovedale than she knows what to do with so she is not sure how it is going to work. So long as I don't miss out, I don't care! OMG - it sounds like you have had all the nasty nurses in your travels! I can't believe that you were told how to burp Jenna AND that you weren't allowed to finish your feed. That's what the fricken clinic is for!!
Well, Gabby has put on weight but not as much as last time. She is up 360 grams, has grown hald a cm and her head is 2.2cms bigger! Big boof-head! LOL
We walked to the health centre and back after going to Target (where she promptly cracked the poos so gave up on the idea of doing the groceries too!). So a big day for us. Now I get the usual battle of trying to get her to sleep so that I can make dinner. Fun, fun!

Wait til you get your sling Deb..... Even in green and white you will still be able to settle her and do your household chores!! Or even better, Neil can strap her on like Shane is now, and you get to feel like half a human without a baby attached, AND she stops crying and you dont have to tell him how to settle her. Bliss.
The photo is fine - I've decided I'm going to post nudie photos of her on my www - what is the point of worrying what some perverts in USA do with the photos. Time to worry about things I can control, and have impact on my life. I'm never going to look at kiddie rude shots, so I'll never see anything bad done to her photos!!! Once again - tell me I'm a terrible mother.
Tanya - I'm like you - I deal with the baby for 90mins including a feed. If she hasn't settled by then, she goes to her dad. He's taken her into the other bedroom a couple of times now, and I can't even hear her screaming. Blissful sleep.
BTW - has everyone else realsied how easy it is to fall asleep at night now?? I reckon it takes all of 2 mins for me to drop off.

Fi, I have that many rudie pics of my kids over the years I could start up my own ring. I think they are just beautiful. It's only the sick buggers out there that make any of it seem wrong. kwim?
Deb, it's great when they love their baths. Tehya has never even fussed once when she has her bath. I wonder if it has anything to do with her birth?
Tanya, I think we should all get pics of our babies in these shirts and we can edit them so they look like they are all together. What is that now. About 4 of us? Hope Violet is doing well.
Sarah, give Aaron a smack. All is equal when they aren't at work. In saying that though I don' think Mark has gotten up once to Tehya. Admitidly though he can't feed her and that is what she wants. Also when Noah wakes he gets up to him.
Scarlett, Hearing you on the growth spurt. I think we have been going through another one too. I wish that the weather was like yours is all year round. I love the warm - not hot weather. Up to around 32 degrees is just nice for me.
Self confessed baby sniffer here too girls. Love the smell of them, even their sweet baby breath (except after a chuck) Wouldn't you know it. Noah has actually slept in this morning and Tehya woke to stay up. She is in the lounge roon having a chat to herself. Funny chook she is.
Took her scrap booking last night. We left early and got home just after 8.30pm, changed and fed her then handed her to Mark and I promptly crashed out on the lounge. Went to bed around 11pm and she didn't wake til after 2 then again around 6ish, so a pretty good night for us.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and all bubbies are well behaved.
Take care

Hello,
Fi, I didn't even think that sick people would use photos of my beautiful baby. I suppose that there is nothing we can do about it.
I love my sling too. We walked up to the shopping centre in the pram yesterday. Charlotte then got fussy and kept on crying so I put her in the sling and we got home happily with no screams at all.
Trish, sounds like Tehya is sleeping well. How did she behave at scrapbooking?
Sarah, I suppose Aaron didn't even think to get up. Sometimes men need to be told that you need help. They are a bit thick. :-) DH doesn't get up because he can't feed but he puts her to sleep in the evening which is a great help.
Deb, Gabby sounds like she is doing well. Don't you love that they grow so much. I love the little rolls of fat.
Charlotte is doing okay. She didn't have a bad night, just waking at 10 and 2:30. I wanted her to sleep through to 7 but we woke at 6. We are having visitors today. A friend is coming over with her two daughters. DH and I are negotiating to go out and see a movie on the weekend. Mum and Dad have offered to look after Charlotte. I am quite excited about it. My life is sad. It is hard to fit things around 3 hourly feeds!

Fi, it's funny that Jenna goes when her nappy is off! I don't remember the last time I opened a dirty nappy - he always seems to poo when his nappy is off! Grr at your ECHN how rude. I hope there is a different nurse at the clinic that I go to - I wouldn't go to the other 2 clinics in the area. One is in the middle of a park where there are always lots of drunken people hanging round - kinda scary. The other one is in a very bad area, not somewhere I'd like to parkthe car IYKWIM. So really I have a chose of 3 bad ones!
Yay at your door being fixed Tanya, that didn't take long.
Wow at Gabby's growth Deb, it sounds great :) Zander will be weighed again on Monday at our 6w appointment. I'm a bit worried cos he doesn't seem any heavier to me.
LOL at Noah sleeping in, but Tehya waking up this morning! You can never sleep in can you.
We had a pretty good night last night, I think it was cos Zander was super tired though. We did the groceries which he was awake through most of. People came over so I had to keep him up for that. Then dinner at the in-laws, where grandad kept waking him up  When we got home at 8.30 he was cranky as. But I got him into bed by 9ish. He slept through until 2am had a bottle then was up at 5.45. It was good though cos Aaron got up to him then - his alarm goes off at 6.00 usually.
It's really weird - Zander is very unsettled at Aaron's parents house. Not sure what that's all about, but it always gives us a good excuse to leave early LOL!!
-
Oops Maryann, posting at the same time! Hope you do get to go to the movies on the weekend. Sounds like you had a good night as well :)
-
LOL @ Zander being unsettled at the IL's place. Perhaps her gets a vibe from you?? ;) Good to hear he had a good night last night and yay for Aaron tending to him! Sounds like you got a decent sleep!
Trish - LOL @ being able to set up a ring with all your nudie shots... ya dag!
Maryann- yay @ being able to go to the movies. That should be nice. It will probably be weird tho! I imagine that I will feel strange the first time Gabby is left with someone for a bit longer.
Fi - yes! I can fall asleep at night at the drop of a hat. Although, if I have had a decent sleep the night before and the dog is barking, it's a little more difficult.
Had another good sleep last night. She was fussing like crazy when we went to a friend's place for dinner so I thought we were in for a hell of a night. But, no... she slept from 10:30-6am then from 7-8am where I put her in her bouncer in her room because she seemed windy then she slept until 10am! A nice, big sleep for mumma! She is now back asleep in her rocker again. She seems to like the rocker more because she is sitting more upright. I will have to do the phone books under the cradle thing to tilt it up a bit I think.
We have my sister's graduation today. She has one of her degrees (bachelor of architecture I think... or bachelor of arts?? Hmmm one of them!) so I plan on getting Gabby all nice and dressed up. Only thing is, my sister wants us there an hour early for photos so that means one more hour that Gabby has to get fussy. I might try and sit in between Mum and one of my sisters so I can BF while the proceedings are going on. That way she won't scream half way through!

How are you all going? I don't know if I am coming or going atm. Just too many things on the go and I forget to post in here - how rude of me.
Little man in now whingeing so best make this quick (he was sleeping)
Deb - hope everything goes well today at your sisters graduation. I start my mothers group on Monday as she just finished her last one. Maybe they only ever have a certain amount going at once. I like my MHCN, she is nice and I called her in desperation once and she was lovely and very calm. She also told me that I could choose my MHCN. I am sorry that some of you don't have nice ones - Fi, how rude is yours? Just shocking. What a shame you can't change your Sarah... luckily you don't have to rely on her for all your advice.
Scarlett - Matthew hits his head too, I suppose that's why they market the cot bumpers but now they are a SIDS risk. Do you believe I was given 2 of these? Now they just sit in my cupboard as I can't use them.
Sarah - I think the reminder does wonders. Probably thinks you are coping okay and like getting up. I was impressed with my DH the other night, he got up with me, changed Matthew and sat with me while I fed him and it was a work night.
Matthew had a couple of nights were he woke at 3.30 for a feed but the last two nights he has slept through. I am so spoilt, I have really forgotten what's it like to get up through the night.
