1 Month - 3 Months, June #2

Hi girls!

Dee - everytime I got to the MHCN I hope Matty is over 6kgs! But we haven't made it yet. One of the boys at my mothers group is 4 weeks younger than Matty and is already 8 kgs and almost ready to go into O's! The weight ranges on kids are so vast aren't they. Matty is 5.8kgs. Are you going to mums group?

Deb - How as Neil and Erins party? I hope it went well and you got to enjoy your self.I bet everyone loved seeing Gabby. :)

Fi - have a great trip home and hopefully Jenna goes as well as she did on the flight over.

Tanya - yay at the name change. Funny I didn't even notice until I read the username change post. Violet might be going through a growth spurt. I remember Matty waking up 2 nights in a row for the same ting but then went back to snoozing all night.

Sarah and Nat - hope your beautiful boys are going well :)

hey girls, just quickly jumping in, we caught chloes cold :( but on the plus side she is still sleeping through from 8pm till 3-30am its great :)
she had her 6 week check done, shes going good, is now 60cm's long and weighs 5.65kg's!! so shes a bit heavy hehe.. I want to go see a different doctor though because under her right eye is a really puffy spot and the doctor at her 6 week check just said "oh its probably normal" didnt look at it or anything and he was so slow making me run late for my appointment with the mental health midwife.. so if its still there in a couple of weeks I want to go see a diff doc and get him to check it out just to make sure nothings wrong..

How cute is Violet in her Jolly Jumper!! Zander was very unimpressed when we put him in his yesterday! Yay at her almost rolling over as well :) I was confused for a minute when I saw "Tanya" somewhere else thinking oooh new member LOL!

Yay at Jacob enjoying his time on the floor Nat. Zander looove being nappy free as well & pees everywhere each time!

Well, I have a little yay today! We had 2 sleep throughs - Friday 11pm-6.30am and last night midnight - 8am \:D/ Problem is he has slept all day today as well cos he has a cold :( I'm hoping that's not why he slept so much!

Very nervous about tomorrow! Zander is staying at mum's tonight cos she has the day off so I am working for her. It means I take him over probably about 9pm tonight & won't see him til I get home a 5pm tomorrow afternoon 8-[ I'm going to miss him!

Other than that, Amanda isn't working on Mondays anymore so has offered to look after Zander so I can work. I think we'll try it for a few weeks & see how we go.

Just remembered - we weighted Zander yesterday & he is.... 6.5kg \:D/ He is 63cm & head is now 42.5cm.

Wow Nell... the boy who is 8kg!! That's Huge! Emily was always a skinny little thing, she didn't hit 6lkg till about 5-6 months! Looking at her now in comparison to other kids is so weird! She looks so tiny... no fat on her at all! Violet isn't very big either, but she is heaps heavier that Emily was at the same age.

Lesley, Souns like Choe's is doing well :) Bumma about the cold tho! Hopefully the Dr is right about the red bit under her eye.. fingers crossed it goes away quickly.

Nell- I got so excited today as i took ralphy for a walk and we ended up in your court. Anyhow...i saw no.12 and thought wow that's our home, i can't believe we have built the same house!!

Then i got home and read that wasn't your number after all 8-[ woops, all that excitement for nothing. So i didn't even get a sticky at your actual house cos i was so excited to see mine!

Sarah- how exciting you are leaving Zander for that long time, you are very brave and are allowed to feel a little sad. Don't worry, time will fly and he will be back in your arms in no time.

Deb must have partied hard last night....still no sign of her!! Unless she is nursing both Neil and Gabby today!! :D Hope they had a great night!

I'm more nervous now that he's sick as well Chrissy. Poor bubba has a cold & just wants to sleep & be cuddled all the time. I think he has been awake for all up about 4hrs today. Sounds good in theory, but he wants to be with someone snuggled up to sleep!

He is finally stacking it on Tanya! He has chubby cheeks & a little tummy, buthe's not fat IYKWIM!

Well my bubba is at Granma's house now & it just feels weird to have him gone. It's only 1 night, I'll manage - yup trying to convince myself LOL!

lol Chrissy - you are funny! I was going to tell you that people in our court built the same house as you, I just love that design BTW - but DH didn't like it as much.

Sarah - how are you going? Have a good day at work and you are sooo lucky that grandma is willing to take him overnight for you! I hope you get some good zzz's in. Wow at Zanders weight! And you were worried about him in the first few weeks! See, nothing to worry about, he has zoomed past Matty already!

Tanya - Looks like Matty is going to be the same as Emily. I am so anxious for him to be 6 kg so I can out him into some gorgeous 00's we have, so I have stuck them on him already. 8-[ They are a bit big but he looks so cute!

Aww girls, I just have to tell you, we had the best day with Matty today., he was so smiley, giggley, just gorgeous. He is now sticking his tongue out when he gets a real laugh up. :)

Hi Girls, just letting you know that I am still around. I have been reading your post's but that's as far as I can get lately.

Tehya is being a right little witch. Not only do we catnap during the day, it seems the done thing of a night time too.

Noah is sick yet again. Still not sure whether to keep him of swimming again, he's only been once in 4 weeks.

Better go, Tehya is screaming AGAIN.

Trish - the site looks great! Good idea too. The babies online site doesn't fit very many pics on, hey? I might just have to copy you ;) Sorry to hear that Tehya isn't sleeping well and that Noah is sick yet again. Poor little mite!

Nell - Matty sounds sooooo cute poking out his tongue whilst giggling. Good to hear you had a fantastic day with him. They are amazing little creatures, aren't they?

Sarah - I hope your night without Zander wasn't too stressful. It must have felt odd. I know I am going to feel strange when I first leave Gabby with Mum. Atm, the first time looks like being in November when our friends get married. I would like to let my hair down a bit and I think by then, Gabby will be old enough to go to Nanna's for the night. Still, the thought of it freaks me out a little! So I don't blame you for feeling a little anxious!

Lesley - sorry to hear you got a cold, matey. But yay on Chloes great sleeps!

Dee - yay for you guys too on the great sleeps.

Well, the party went pretty good. Thankfully we remembered everything except the candles for Neil's cake (I bought little VB can candles aaaages ago and bloody well forgot them!). Gabby went to sleep after the first hour and was probably down for about an hour and a half in spite of the noise. She woke up during the speeches and was just awestruck by all the people. Mum looked after her while we finished the speech for Erin (who was an absolute knock-out and I am soooooo jealous! Will put a photo on the site of her so ykwim). I fed Gabby some EBM but she wasn't terribly interested. A few people got to have a cuddle but, as people started getting drunk, I think my maternal defenses kicked in because I didn't want anyone else to hold her. Even Mum offered to take her but she was nearly asleep so I said it was fine. I got her to sleep again but it was a struggle cos they turned the music right up and it freaked her out a little. I was going to put a hat on her to cover her ears but it was too hot. By midnight I was over it. Drunk people have no idea about how to speak at a normal level. I was sick of people shouting instead of talking and complete strangers coming over to touch Gabby and get in our face. The venue was up 3 flights of stairs so Neil and his mates helped me down and we went home. I was quite impressed with how Gabby handled it all. She was happy and smiling when we got home and telling me alllll about the party in her baby-talk, LOL. She went to sleep like normal which was great. Neil rolled in at about 4:30am mumbling something about walking half the way home and losing his shoe at a nightclub, LOL. He must have found it again because they were both at the door. Gabby slept until 9am which was great. So it was a pretty good night. A little overwhelming to the end but it was good to see all of my sisters getting drunk instead of me for once, LOL. Hanna hardly ever drinks. She ended up doing the Michael Jackson's Thriller dance for everyone at one stage. Such a crack up! I got it on video.

Neil is home today. I think he is still hung over. He had a big night but it was ok because it was planned. I think he was a little surprised that we didn't argue about something for once. I want to go into town and spend all the gift vouchers he got today but he reckons he isn't budging. Party pooper!!

Well Violet is 3 months today :) ...
We had a ver odd night. She woke at 11:30 with wind... so I fed her anyway...I gave her to wato to deal with cause I was too tired! He came in at 12:30 I gave her a bit more booby and she went to sleep. Then she woke at 3:30. When I put her back down she was so tired, didn't even want her dummy. Then she woke at 10 am...? I was thinking at 3:30 that she was definately having a growth spurt, but then she didn't wake till 10am...
anyway... she was so funny last night, she just couldn't stop giggling...soooo cute! She is going to be one hell of a chatterbox too! Compared to Emily anyway, I can't remember Emily talking as much as Violet.

Deb, sounds like your night was a good one :) . Great to hear Neil and Erin enjoyed themselves. It gets a bit much when you have a little one... But it sounds as though she did pretty well :)

Sarah, I hope you made the most of your night without Zander... I am sure you missed him tho :)

Thanx for the congrats Trish... I am soooo sorry to hear that you are having a tough time at the moment... It seems as though she has fallen into some bad habits... :(

Nell - You sound like you want your little man to grow, enjoy it while you can I say, you`ve got something I`ve never had - a little baby. Matthew is already growing out of a lot of his 000`s and is in a lot of 00 already. How gorgeous of Matty sticking out his tongue while giggling, Matthew found his tongue at 2 weeks then forgot about it and in the last week has found it again and he seems to have a mummy game with me, where he sticks it out and I touch it and tell him I`ve got his tongue, this will go on and on and the smiles are just beautiful, truly lights up the place. Little boys you`ve gotta love them :D

Tanya - Yay at Violet being 3 months, hasn`t that gone so fast. Violet sounds lovely and obviously a real chatterbox, how cute. Hope you have a better night tonight.

Deb - Was Neil trying to do a Cinderella impersonation LOL - sorry I couldn`t resist, glad his shoes were at the door!!!! Sounds like Gabby coped quite well despite all the noise.

Trish - I must have a look at your site after I`ve finished this postt. Bummer about Noah being sick again, hope Tehya sleeps better for you tonight and stops the catnapping.

Sarah - I neglected to say Yay at Zander being 3 months today, I don`t know where the time goes.

Also took Matthew to the MCHN today, hi dress weight is 6080gms and his undressed weight is 5910gms - he`s still in the 97% percentile for weight. Length is 59.5cms - still in 90% percentile and his head circumference is 40.3cms again still in his 90% percentile, he seems to be growing at a nice steady rate.

OK I know I've probably forgotton someone but I'm really sleep deprived. Can I be forgiven. I swear I'm getting less sleep now then I did with Tehya as a newborn.

I'm in the process of becoming an Aunty again as I type. My brothers gf is in labour. She was due Tuesday 2 weeks ago so is 13 days over. I can't believe that the stupid hosp didn't even induce her. Mum spoke to her around 12ish and she was having contractions 20 minutes apart so I'd ay she still has a while to go. Fingers crossed for a little boy for my brother, he already has 2 girls (to his exwife) and he is the end of the boys in our family. Have to keep the name going for us :)

Tehya actually had a nap for around 90 minutes this morning. Of course that's been it for the rest of the day so far. But, it is more than we have been getting lately.

Dee - Wow.... Matthew has passed Gabby in weight already. She still fits into her 000 and probably will for a couple of weeks. Her wondersuits are a little small but, from what I have heard, they are pretty snug n e way.

Trish - good to hear that Tehya at least got a bit of a sleep today. Here's hoping it improves! Fingers crossed that your bro has a boy but I am sure the bubs will be just as loved if it turns out to be a girl. You never know, by the time she grows up, the blokes might be taking on chick's names instead!! ;)

Tanya - yay 4 Violet being 3 months today!! Wow... that last month has gone fast. Sounds like she had a verrrry odd night last night. Seems like she was out of wack by a few hours!

I have achieved absolutely nothing today. Oh...well... that's sort of a lie. I did do the dishes and re-arrange the lounge room but I had wanted to to the vacuuming and sort out Gabby's 00 clothes but it never happened. Neil is still feeling crap and is pretty grumpy. Gabby has been a little angel tho - she is on to her 3rd nap today. Can't complain in that area. I have been trying to extend her awake time to 1.5-2hours rather than 1 hour and it seems to help her get to sleep. It means she is grizzly for a little while but I find that it's much easier to entertain her now so it's not so bad. Of course, that could all change tomorrow ;)

Well the angel routine didn't hold up on the way wback...... She was a troll, but it was OK I spose. She was one of those crying babies through the landing - the ones I used to get irritated with!!! It didn't help we were delayed by about 90mins on the tarmac. Grrrrrr.

Mothers group today - I weighed Jenna - she is 5.14kg undressed, which is about 360g in a fortnight. My little girl finally fits her 000's well. Oh to be average!

Having a hairbrained moment - I can't really do personals. we have just found out that Shane's XW is hitting us up for more child support cause the kids dont come and stay. Child support are going to oblige, so all the fighting to get a discount for Jenna has gone back to the witch anyway. What it means is that I may have to go back full time when Jenna starts solids cause then we wont have to pay anything for a few months. And Shane has just told me that his other knee is being operated on next wednesday, so he will be off work for at least a month - and then back on restricted hours andduties for a couple more months.

So its good news, but alot for my mind to take in - specially since I'm still really tired from the trip and all.

OMG... I can't believe Shane's ex can do that considering it's not like it is Shane's fault that his kids don't visit. Talk about working the system! Bummer about his knee too. Sorry to hear that Jenna wasn't quite so lovely on the way home.

Well the court orders state that DSD (dear step daughter....) is supposed to spend every second weekend with us, so the child support is allocated that way - basically Shane pays 80% of what he legally has to? Anyway, she is going to prove that DSD hasn't been to stay for a year, and that she should get the full carers amount. So its fair for them, but really - we want her to stay, and have invited her so many times its not funny. Problem is his XW has turned them all into head cases, so we dont exist in their world.

Child support is a completely crap system. I'm actually sorta looking forward to going back to work though. Sorta......

Yay it's a boy. He was born just after 5 this afternoon. He was 8lb 1oz and 51..5 cm long. I think he's cute - well as cute as any newborn really is. The poor baby though, my brother has named him NED!!! Ned William Cook, couldn't get any more Australian or better yet first fleet, than that could you.

I will be back tomorrow to do a proper post and to put some pics of Ned on Tehya's page.

Fi - I don't blame you for looking forward to going back to work. Not that I feel the same way (I am making the most of not working ;) ) but each to their own. I agree with you - the child support system is stuuuupid. It totally screwed us around aswell.

Had mother's group this morning. It is going really well. We only have one more session @ the health centre then we go to the pub the week after (well - the bistro part, LOL). I suggested to them today that we get together a couple of weeks after that for dinner so that we can meet the hubbies. They all seemed keen. I am glad it's a friendly group.

Fi - Shane`s XW must know how to get every little cent out of you two, I feel for you both since we`re in the same boat too, since having Matthew our support hasn`t dropped. Sorry to hear about Shane`s knee. Oh what it would be like to have a little baby like Jenna, Matthew was Jenna`s weight at 3 weeks, he`s not taking after Mummy I was only a little baby of 6lb. Hope you had a good night.

I really like the idea of child support being means tested on both parents incomes combined! So many men really do get a raw deal when it comes to child support.

I'm with you, Chrissy.
The whole system sux. My mum had the opposite problem when we were kids. She couldn't get dad to pay at all and they couldn't take the money from his wages because he had his own business.
Meanwhile, us kids went without... hardly seemed fair to us!

It seems the dads who do the RIGHT thing like Shane and Mark get hit really hard when it comes to Child Support, it`s like because they do the right thing they have to also pay top double to cover the dads who don`t pay one cent IYKWIM

Mark and I heard on the radio not so long ago that they are talking about increasing the Child Support once the children are teenagers because it costs 1.5 times more to bring a teenager up then a 3 year old. It seems any excuse will do to give the Mums more money. Since Matthew has been born we have been bombarded with so much whinging from the X on how she can`t afford anything for the boys that we end up forking out more money which the CSA doesn`t know about, makes me wonder what she does with the CS we give her. I think she`s worried that after having Matthew her CS will be reduced, it hasn`t as yet. It makes it so hard when there is a new baby in the family, our money seems to go as soon as it comes in.

Now I`ve had a very little ramble I could go on and on but Fi I know exactly what it`s like and really feel for both you and Shane.

Juliette - How is Hannah`s excema? I can`t believe that after 2 days of switching Matthew over to natural products his excema is very nearly gone, I was using J & J products on him that I was given and I`m wondering if they were causing a problem, the sorbolene helped a little but these others products I`m just amazed by the improvement in such a short time.

Deb - I know a couple of Dads like your Dad who should be paying CS but don`t, even though they earn big $$$$ they still get away with it, it`s not fair how some dads have to pay and others don`t and once your in the CS system they keep an eye on you.

Matthew had a terrible night last night, only sleeping for 3 hours, Mummy and Daddy are exhausted, what happened to the couple of days where we got 7 - 9 hours from him, it`s amazing how much better you feel when they do sleep a bit longer.

You are so right, Dee. Esp. since my Dad brags about how he used to earn $100,000 a year and lived in Circular Key while we went to school without lunch on some days. I always argued with him that, while he would have had to pay a lot for 4 kids, he would be paying far more if he was still living with us.
On the flip-side, it's gotta be so hard for men who do the right thing to start a new life if most of their wage is going toward their X.
I dunno if there is any correlation but it seems to me that the ones that don't pay CS are the ones that stuffed up the relationship to begin with and vice versa. Now.. that could be a very general and sweeping statement - just my observations.

Yes CS is a crap system, and I think we could all go on and on about it, unfortunately it doesn't seem to do any good whatsoever - having been told yesterday by the CS office "We dont deal in emotions....." I rest my case.

Jenna has been OK the last couple of days - really, really windy and farty so god knows what I've eaten. She is so tired, and wants to go down, but wakes herself up with farts. So I end up cuddling her in front of a DVD for hours, and she sleeps, and when she farts I pat her back to sleep straight away. Seems drastic, but its kinda nice just to sit and do nothing. Pretty draining though!! So now Shane is in bed with her having an afternoon nap!

Dee - What a bugger Matthew having a bad night..... it happens every now and again. They do it just to keep us on our toes I reckon!

Juliette - well done to making it so well to this mark! In a couple of weeks time you wont recognise yourself or Hannah!! Jenna is turning into a real baby now. Such a little personality on her! And of course the whole mother thing is starting to come into it - she follows me with her eyes, stops crying when I pick her up, and of course smiles at me at the drop of a hat. So cute!!

Deb - great that mothers group is doing so well. we are doing baby massage next week, and I'm the only mum that currently does it. It will be interesting to see if the other babies enjoy it as much as Jenna, or whether its an acquired thing?? she'll get all confused though - cause normally the rubdown is just before bed!!

Trish - I've had a look on your new site, and its wonderful!!! Some of the photos of Tehya are wonderful. I look forward to seeing some of your nephew!

Grrrr! Just did a post that disappeared!!

Fi - I think the massage thing must be an acquired taste. Gabby doesn't really like it a great deal. I keep giving it a go but she usually just cracks it. Mind you, the last 2 nights I have given her a rub down, she has slept 10 then 9 hours?? I wonder if that's the reason. Jenna obviously enjoys being relaxed. The girl knows how to chill! Good to hear you had an ok day. It's nice to just do nothing sometimes, isn't it?

I have to agree the CS system is very crappy. My brother pays out huge amounts of CS to his ex and she won't even let him see his DD, or talk to her or have any contact. It is very sad, so he is trying to get custody but that is taking AGES. Anyway, enough talk about that.

Dee - I do want my little man to grow. :) Not sure why? I just want him to put on more weight I think and all these bubs are shooting up around him. But he is happy and healthy and that should be enough, shouldn't it ?

Fi - glad to be back? How is the house selling going? Hope Jenna is well.

Nell - getting a few people through the place, but its a buyers market, so people are doing their research thoroughly - not rash decisions, but it should sell cause its one of the best value properties on the market in Lara at the mo.

Netball practise tonight. So it will be interesting to see what sort of baby I come home to!! I've put her down now - finally she went to sleep, but I'm not sure how long it will last for. I'm getting sick of cuddling her in front of the telly, so I've decided to try and get her to sleep the MCHN way. On the side, patting with cupped hand etc. We shall see if it works!!

Long time no post - sorry! have popped in to read but haven't got around to posting. We have had one sick kid after another around here the last few days - coughs and sneezes everywhere. Mind you, try telling a 14 y.o. boy that he is sick and should stay home when he is going to train with the St. Kilda FC - HA! He came home Tuesday night after the training absolutely stuffed and to top it off, his coach had to cancel Wednesday night training because he and half the team now have it too (wouldn't be putting any money on the Saints LOL!)
Jacob is doing well. Weighed in at 11lb 10oz and 60cm long on Monday so I'm really happy about that. He has gone into some weirdo sleep pattern the last couple of days - wasking up around 8am and staying awake until 1pm then napping until 2ish, back awake until 6 and then up again at 9 and going down for the night around midnight. I don't know whether I'm coming or going LOL.
Won't do personals - I'm off to bed........... night all!!

Nat - well, we know who to blame if the Saints lose their next game ;) How exciting for the boys to train with them tho!! I love it when footy players come out to do clinics at the school. It's a good perve. Nothing like wandering into the staff room to come face to face with the gorgeous Brad Johnson from the doggies. Mmmmm, yum! Sorry to hear you have all been sick. I hope it's all out of the way for you guys for now. Sounds like Jacob is fighting fit and doing well. As for the weirdo sleep patterns - are they ever normal??

Fi - I am still reading the posts even tho I have graduated! Good to hear that your house is getting a few people through it. How did Jenna go last night while you were at netball?

Deb - She was really good last night. We think she is fighting off a cold at the mo, she has been getting some strange overheating things going on, and has been a little irritable. Also Shane and I are both fighting off sore throats, so hopefully we will keep them at bay.
Today I have got her to sleep in her bass for the first time int about 2 weeks during the day!! Although, I'm still sleeping her on he side - there isn't enough room to settle her on the side, and then roll her over, so on her side she sleeps.
Mayeb once we graduate to the cot I'll be able to roll her back on her sides.
I'm playing netball again this weekend - YAY!! Of course its against the toughest team in the comp, and they have mentioned me playing C grade. I'm really not fit enough to play too much, and I'm missing playing C too. I'm fine in attack, just dont have the get up to get down the other end of the court when in defence.

I've done lots of washing today cause she is asleep - and not on my chest. And she is jutst talking SOOOOO much!!! Its gorgeous - specially when she makes a little bubbly noise in her throat, and we laught at her, then she giggles. Lovely.

Nat - hope your sick kids get better really soon!! And funny sleep patterns!!! I'm finding that if I just get back into bed with Jenna at about 8am, we cuddle up and sleep for a couple of hours which is erally nice.

Fi - that's excellent that Jenna did well last night and that you have been able to get her back to sleep in the bassinette! I too have been trying to put Gabby down in her cradle at least once during the day. She lasted about 40 minutes in it today but that's better than nothing. I just worry that she isn't getting good quality sleep in her bouncer.
All this talk of netball has got me exhausted, LOL. Yay @ you getting to play tomorrow. I am sure you will do just fine (even if you are knackered afterwards). Hope you kick some butt!!

Alexander had his MCU scan today poor thing cried the whole time and would not feed when we got home.
The hospital called and said the scan was normal and we have to wait for them to have the scan meeting next Friday to see what to do next. If i do not hear from them in the next few weeks then we don't go back until Septmeber but Alexander still has to take his antibiotics until then.

He also had his 6 wk check he now weighs 4.41 kilos.
