Goodmorning!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep formula is more filling thats for sure as Gemma only wakes for one feed during the night now.She had her last bottle at 7.15pm then didn't wake till 2.15am then again at 7.15am!She has started to drink more too, at her 2.15am bottle she actually polished off the entire 120ml!I was quite impressed! Can't beleive my baby is 5 weeks today!Feels like shes been in my life forever though as I can't imagine life without her now!Does anyone else feel like this?I honestly can hardly remember life without her in it!

Hey Tracey my pg buddy!!! And yes could you please send some 'hungry' vibes of Indah's to Lucie please?
Kirsty - Same goes for you too LOL! Glad Gemma is doing so well.
Jo - How is Sammy today?
Well I am really keen to get into some sort of routine. At the moment I have been feeding Lucie every 3-4 hours. So today I thought I'd give Fletch's little pattern a go. Lucie had 110ml at 7, 110ml at 10 and then I was going to feed her at 1. Except she was actually hungry and took another 110ml 12! Mmm I don't know!!!!! THink we both need to work out what's going on.....
-
Soph, I find Indah generally feeds every 4hours... But some days in the afternoon will pretty much feed all the time....
To the point I have given her a bottle of expressed milk to see she isn't just chewing & comfort sucking & she still drinks 120ml!!!
So I guess like us some days we are hungry & others we just pick??!!!
-
Yeah Tracey I guess that all sounds pretty logical. Really gotta try and destress about the whole thing 'cos it's making me crazy!
-
If she feeds more frequently then she will gain weight, so that's gotta be a good thing if she hasn't been gaining enough....
So just let her guide you as to when she is hungry!!! Your doing a marvellous job!!! =D> =D> =D>

Has the weather been cooler in Brissie Soph? Its been cooler here and I'm guessing thats why Gem's eating more, its nice and warm in her belly and shes been easier to put to bed at night too.Tracey is right, if shes eating more shes gonna gain weight like you wouldn't believe.Let Lucie guide you, she'll eat whens shes hungry and sleep when shes not.Gem still feeds anywhere from 2-7hours!Really erratic, but the 5-7 hour gap is at night. And she tends to feed every 2 hours leading up to bedtime or if shes been awake in between feeds.I really don't stress anymore about feeds. She'll let me know what she wants. In the early days I rememeber she'd go for over 8-10 hours without a feed! Then I was stressed!!!!!!
-
Our feed times sound exactly the same as yours Kirsty, 5-7hours at night any anywhere between 2 and 5 hours during the day and Leah is gaining weight nicely.
Nice and raining here in sydney today - isnt the colder weather wonderful where you can rug them up and they look so snuggly and cuddly!
-
Thanks for the welcome Fletch!!!
-
Fletch - thank you so much for all the feeding info. It's great to have all you guys because I really am the first of my friends to have a bub and I'm kinda winging it a bit! I think you are right about Zane and Lucie being similar. She certainly loves her sleep! I actually get really frustrated when people say 'What a beautiful sleepy baby you have'. They have no idea! I certainly think I'll go with the no more than 4 hour rule during the day and more often if she's wanting it.
Great that you got out for the movie - I should try it!
Kirsty - Yeah it has been cooler which is good. And I'd love Lucie just to wake to feed but I'm afraid she is just little miss sleepy head!
And Tracey you are so kind - sometimes I feel like a terrible mum though!
Amanda - the cooler weather is nice to rug them up more. It's been raining all day today here - yay the garden will grow!
-
Tracey-sorry I forgot to welcome you!How rude! #-o I'm so used to talking to you in other forums!Welcome aboard...........Good to hear little Indah is gaining weight and sleeping so well......Indah is drinking more than Gemma!
Amanda-Yeh it does sound like Gem and Leah have really similar feeding times!Gem's gaining weight really well also....little chubb ball she is!Good to hear that Leah's hip is getting better too.
Fletch-What was the movie like?I have been wanting to go and see it, might take my sister and we'll leave the kids at home with our hubby's.Can't beleive that some of the other mums let their kids scream!I would have been sooo P*&^$d off! They must think cause its a mums n bubs session that it doesn't matter!
You know you'll probably think I'm crazy as its only been 5 weeks since I had Gemma, but I was thinking while I was having a shower that if Corey asked me tomorrow if I wanted to start ttc number 2 that I'd say yes, without even a hesitation!I guess its because I've had such a great recovery(touch wood!) after the c/s and my scar is healing nicely, although the hot weather does play havoc on it.God I hope he doesn't ask soon, imagine having 2 under 2!YIKES!Someone snap me out of it!
