1 Month to 6 Months, January '05

Hi all,

Good to hear from you Snowy, bad luck about being sick and your teeth. How cute Dh loving feeding, that's the thing I guess with breastfeeding, dad's don't get that bonding that mum's do. Nice that he has had the chance.

Great news for Alana, Lara. She is doing so well, and re being home, that is so true as well. If only messes would clean themselves.

Spiddles- don't be too tough on Dh, I hate it when Arron comes home and it looks like I haven't done anything and I have but the kids are tornado's. I know Liam doesn't make mess, but your DH would find it much different to the norm being home by himself and he also won't see the things that should be done (a man thing!). Maybe just on Daddy day you will need to grin and bear it! How are you going with working and keeping up with house stuff? That was always something I found hard, and I ended up knocked out tired just keeping up with washing and cleaning!

I have been sick for the last few days, had aches, pains and a mild fever. On top of Jemma having a temp and Arron being away until 9.30pm from the funeral and him having a huge fight with his mum bc she wouldn't bring him home. He was so angry as he told her Jemma had a temp and he needed to go home and in front of everyone she said "I don't care about Jemma, all I care about is being here for my friend". The wife of the man who died looked amazed as she said that. Sometimes my MIL is such a mean selfish cow. Arron was so upset he was even crying.

She rang yesterday morning to wish us a happy anniversary and asked about Jemma (her guilty conscience coming through). She also told BIL (her son) that if it wasn't for him being drunk xmas day she would have got to see the guy who died again before he died, but she could have visited anytime b/t xmas and last week and didn't. I reckon she just wanted to blame someone for her not going to see him. GRRRR!

She is still minding the kids tomorrow though so i am not getting involved, otherwise we won't get our night away. We pd my cousin $20 to watch the kids while we had dinner last night, as the 20th is our actual anniversary.

Heard from a uni friend today and she had a baby a month ago, we are going to catch up mid feb, I am so excited!

Hi Beth, glad to hear from you too. Hope all goes well at your 6 week check, and don't worry about Kaleb and going out, nobody gets annoyed if little bubs are crying. Ouch! hope things clear up soon, it's hard to look after bubs when you don't feel good yourself.

Caddie sometimes our bubs just decide to do things that aren't nice for us. I try not to stimulate jessica at feeding time, and straight after she's done I put her back in her bassinette and leave her. I would just give the dummy until she settles, so she gets the idea it is sleeping time. Lucky about the fire, you better get some alarms!

Well better go, prob won't be back until Mon as heading to Shep tomorrow.

Finally a chance to jump online again. DH is immersed in online gaming as we finally have broadband here. What is it about grown men and computer games??!!!

Ashleigh is doing really well, up to 4.82kg, we will both be having our 6 week check up on Mon so should go well. First mothers group was fun, great to meet with other mums who are going through the same troubles and laughs that you are. Just like this forum!!!

We've had excellent and normal sleeps since last my last post. Had another 1.30am wakeup which is brilliant, and now had 3 nights in a row where I can put her down after her 7pm feed, and she goes straight to sleep. What a little legend! Now I've said how good she is I'll never get her to sleep tonight...... 8-[ . Ashleigh has started to smile now and there is the start of a little laugh there as well.

What an exhausting week!! Am glad its over. Hope not too many of you were affected by the storms. I think all I did today was lodge storm claims for home/motor. Phones were running hot!!

Turned Liam's car seat around on wednesday as is over 9kgs (well think so anyways DH weighed himself then put liam on his shoulder and was 9kgs difference) He wasnt a happy chappy!! Didnt cry or anything just looked grumpy for the first few days but is use to it now and loves trying to look out of the window from the middle. I finally get to sit in the front again YAY!!! Maybe he wasnt impressed because I wasnt sitting in the back with him no more as I had to when car seat was reversed.

Liam is beeing a fuss pot again. Instead of 5 feeds is have like 7 a day. 100 mls b4 daycare about 400 mls in total at daycare over 4 feeds plus has morning and afternoon tea of farex and fruit puree and then another 100 mls when gets home and 150mls before he goes to sleep. Doesnt seem to like having big feeds anymore....just wants to graze. His tooth is still coming out further and further.

Everyone is always comenting on what a big baby he is. He isnt fat or anything just soooooo long. Saw a 1 year old boy the same hieght and weight as him!!

Anyhows am off to bed....Have a great weekend guys!! Will try and get some personals in tomorrow!!

2 door car astrolady!!! couldnt put it in the middle and had to go behind the passengerside front seat and chair was right forward!! Could sit in there if you wanted you ankles around your neck *lol*

we have a toyota surf and i have the same problem with the front passenger seat being a bit cramped.I really should sit in the front but i perserve in the front.If we had an accident my head would hit the windsheild.I am going to my cousins 21st this sat and its 2 hrs away so i just might sit in the back with millana!

i have a two car too but seem to have heaps of room in the front - my boyfriend is over 6 foot & he has never complained of being cramped.

just have to say that anyone in brisbane who reads the sunday mail have a look at page 38 - that's me & eliana!!! we didn't tell family & friends it was going to be in there so everyone has been suprised to see us.

Well DP and I went to the Target sales today. Bought Lily this cute little Tigger outfit for Winter. It's so adoreable! Also got one of those metal cylinder things that you put the Birth Certificate in, and a plaster mould kit for printing bub's hands/feet.

It sucks having a 2 door car with the seat in the rear position as wont fit in middle properly. Is in the middle now forward facing and can sit in the middle. Is probably beast that you do sit in the back caddie...espeically since its a long trip!!

Both Michelle's *lol* - I guess I maybe a liitle hard on DH since its only the 2nd time he has looked after him on his own but I still wish he would try and do things/ On my days off I still have to look after him and do housework IYKWIM. On wednesdau was that exhausted as soon as I came home was cleaning all the mess he made. I have so much respect for working mothers just as much as SAHM'S. Some times I feel like I am looked down apon for going back to work and working full time from people. I wish I could be a SAHMm but just cant afford to right now.

Liam's tooth is now half way out. WIll need to buy a toothbrush next shop. I guess you would sterilise it the same way as a dummy??? Boiling water for 5 mins???

Liam's has been refusing formula all weekend. Only had 230mls until 2:30 that afternoon. I dont know if it is his teeth or what but sure was hungry. Ate half a can of pear puree and 2 tablespoons of banna and pear farex in 15 mins flat!! Seems to be more interested in food now than bottle expeically during the day. Night time he seems fine ust to have bottles. Measured him this afternoon is 76 cms tall and 9kgs approx. They joke at wokr saying he is going to be taller than me next week *lol*

Gotta love sales Tegan!! Am sure Lily will look gorgeous!!

Well I had my 6 week check-up this morning. Lily's hips are fine, which a relief! She's a little tongue tied, but it shouldn't be a problem. She has to have a skull x-ray to check for any abnormalities, coz of the right side of her head is flat and she always lays on it. So will have to book in for an x-ray next week sometime. I do hope there's nothing wrong!

Spiddles, must be horrible having a 2 door car with a baby. I hate them anyways, theyre so hard to get out of the back! I spose you would sterilise the toothbrush just like a dummy...

hey spiddles don't beat yourself up about having to work, you are doing a great job raising liam i take my hat off to you working so hard and looking after your family - boo hoo to the ones that are looking down on you don't worry. on the toothbrush front i may be wrong but i think all you will need at the moment is just to wipe over liam's tooth with a soft cloth no need for toothpaste - just a cloth should be fine check with your health nurse tho i may be wrong - been a while lol and just a struggle to get them to brush when they are older fair dinkum i think i asked jay a dozen times tonight to go to the toilet then brush those teeth - no i will do it tommorror ahhhh fine i say you will get big holes and will not be able to eat lollies i say hah that got him running in lol.

tegan - fantastic about lily's hips - lani's were ok to, i think they are really careful at checking these days cause the earlier they pick it up the better at treatment so even the slightest loseness (hmm is that a word lol) they get you to check it out further - bummer about an x-ray of her skull hope all is ok there - i am sure it will be

michelle - hope you had a great night away for your anniversary - hmmm you never know a night away from the kids quite often ends up with a little surprise in 9mths time lol (thats what happens to us anyway lol)

update on lani - she is going well although i think she maybe hungry i have a feeling the moo cow might be going a tad dry lol with all the running around (not to mention forgetting to eat and drink lol) she has been waking up starving the last 2 nights at 4am and tonight and this arvo she was sucking then pulling off arching her back and crying i squeezed both boobies and nothing came out - i think in the end she just gave up took the dummy and went to sleep - am going to feed her before i go to bed tonight to try and build up supply - probably get the expressor out - tommorrow i will knick down and get some karicare sachets to keep on hand - i really wanted to feed for at least 6 mths but if she is hungry i will get her the bottle don't want to starve her. she gets weighed next week so that will be intersesting.

Spiddles- firstly 2 door cars are a pain, we had one with our 1st and had much the same prob, so we brought a 2nd hand sedan (commodore), no more problems. Also I agree with michelle, don't worry about what other ignorant people may think, I have heard one of Arron's aunties say that women should stay home and look after their kids, but I know she is defending her daughter who is a SAHM. I think being a mum is hard no matter how you do it, and working just makes it harder. I did it and now get to be a SAHM, and somedays I think it would be easier if I just went to work. I get what you're saying about you doing things when you are home and DH not doing them, the truth is most men don't pay attention to detail and as they can't multitask, never do things the way a woman can.

Tegan- hope all goes well with Lily's xray, my MCHN was worried about Jessica's head at 4 weeks but everything turned out fine, we didn't have xrays, but it is starting to reshape itself, although is a little flat still. Hopefully the same will happen for Lily.

Michelle- no more talk of little bundles in 9 months please! I think we have enough children I have done my share by having 4! We are taking precautions until Arron has his vasectomy, but I am on antibiotics so I have warned him off, cause I will not be responsible for the consequences when I have ,ade it clear to him.

I took Jessica and nyself to the Drs today b/c she is coughing too and Dr agreed she is wheezy and put her and I on antibiotics, wonders never cease. My reflux/ acid prob has finally cleared up, I am taking double the amount of medication she gave me originally and have had no burning at all, and then I get this chest infection. Grrr to my health in the last 4 months. Good news was all my blood tests came back with positive results, so no iron defiency, no thyroid probs, and cell count is good, which I assume means no major health probs. Just lots of minor painfully annoying sicknesses.

4 more sleeps and Joshua is a school boy, Boo Hoo to mummy! But then again....I will miss my little boy but also I will be glad to get that time with him away, to clean up without him messing etc. I honestly can't believe he is really going to school, time just passes too quickly.

And Jordan is in grade 5...and we are already starting to think about secondary school. Too much for me!

I justr wanted to say that with Karicare, I was told not to give it to babies coz they can't digest it properly. I gave it to Lily and she had continuious diarrhea, so was told to take her off it. She's now on S-26 and has been fine ever since. It might be different for Lani. But just thought you should know that.

Liam's ben on Karicare gold since 3 moths......Havent had a problem!!! I guess it does depend on the baby!!!

Matilda's been on Karicare, the thickened formula full time since she was 4 months but she did have a bottle a day from 10 days...

I think you are right, some babies can and some can't.

My last 2 have been on SMA as it is the cheapest formula I can buy. MCHN said it is heavier than most fromulas but just to give extra water if bubs got a bit constipated. In the first few days Jessica's poohs were a little firm, so gave her the water, within 2 days no more probs. I picked formula according to price as with so many other kids it is a big expense, my theory was if they liked it and did well then no need for a more expensive brand.

MCHN said last visit my formula seems to be a good one as Jessica is so settled, content and growing so well, seems to fill them up as it is a little heavier.

thanks for the advise re the formula, did not buy any today as i could not find any sachet packets anywhere all sold out #-o i thought i would try lani on karicare as my ds was fine on karicare he started on s26 as got badly constipated my mchn said s26 tends to cause constipation so i guess everyone is different.

i range mchn and told her what was happening yup just as i thought supply is low - my bb's are broken lol but i tried feeding her every 2hrs today great in this heat - not, however she refuses if she is not hungry and will just pull off and examine her hands - i also had a bottle of stout tonight - yuck i had to force it down. lani was terrible today - first time in such a long time it was quite a shock she only had about 4 half hour naps in total and screamed blue murder being bathed i ended up having her hanging off the boob from about 4pm to 8pm and she was just getting so hot and frustrated - she got some but really not alot - she drank around 100mls of boiled water so that was good. tommorrow i will express in the morning and give her that bottle tommorrow night hopefully this will work at building up my supply and will see what her weight is next week before i consider weaning her, i really wanted to feed a bit longer but will have to see what happens - her little friend is on the bottle and when lani saw it yesterday she started kicking her legs and reaching for it and tonight when she was drinking the water she was in her rocker holding it and wouldn't let go - makes me think she is maybe weaning herself who knows we will work it out.

another hotty tommorrow but kinder on thursday - yay but only for 1 and a bit hrs and i have to stay - a kind of orientation day so it will be good, jay is looking forward to his uniform more than kinder i think lol

Glad everyone sounds well. Grace had her paed appointment yesterday and all is fine. Doc said she does have a small fontanelle but they are not worried because she has all her reflexes and is doing everything she is supposed to be doing at 3 months of age. Plus her head circ is growing and following the curve on the graph almost exactly!

Re - formula. If you look at the ingrediants and nutrition panel on different tins of formula you will see that there really is little difference between the brands. It basically comes down to personal choice and your baby. I fed Harry on S-26 and he was fine, only occasionally constipated. I started Grace on Karicare which was fine but switched to Heinz as it is cheaper and she has had no problems.

Spiddles - about getting a tooth brush, with first teeth all you need to use is a soft cloth, like a washer and gently rub the tooth to clean it. I didn't get Harry a tooth brush until he was about 12 months old and had a few teeth, and by that age you don't need to sterilise.

Jordan is back at school tomorrow, grade 5. Josh goes Friday, but the rate he's going sleep wise he will be asleep in his chair by 10am. He wanted to get out his uniform tonight but I told him to wait till tomorrow.

Jessica is stressing me as she has the chest infection and I get really worried with the breathing and the coughing, but she is having medicine so there's not much else I can do.

No personals as am in a hurry to put Jemma back to bed AGAIN, and need to check on Jess, don't want her to boil.

re. the car thing: we have bubs in the front because the stupid seat belts in the back are too short to fasten the capsule ... doh! Very annoying since we have a 3-door car as well (1993 Holden Astra)

I am also on another forum that has monthly mommy-groups and had been posting in both the November and December forum since I always thought I'd go overdue. One of the December moms lost her son at 3 weeks last week to a rare genetic disorder. It's so sad. I cried all day yesterday, feeling so sorry for her. I don't know what I'd do if I lost our little darling. It really put things into perspective for me. When Wolf woke up at 3 and was grizzly until 4, I couldn't be angry, I just cuddled him and smiled with him and enjoyed the time.

Went to the gym on Saturday for the first time but haven't been back yet... just no time... maybe tomorrow, but definitely on the weekend.

Happy Austrlia day!!! (or should I say Happy Hottest 100 day)!!! Bugger about Missy getting 2nd!! I ended up working as thought could use the extra money (double time and a half) and was Daddy's day anyway. Was so happy when I got home to find DH had done the washing a bit of cleaning and vacuumed. Ended up ordering pizza for dinner as a treat!!

Has been a full on couple of days with teething. 7 poos today. Very red bum. Went to bed with a panadol and bonjela but over all has been happy!! Had a big laughing session tonight when was kicking Daddy, Daddy would pretend he was hurt and laghed so hard. Never have seen him laugh so hard and so much since he has been born.

Thanks for the info on the teeth cleaning girls will have to try that with the soft cloth.

So sorry to hear about your friend Snowy. When something like that happens it really does put things into prespective.

Tegan - Liam has a flat spot on his right hand side too. Never really got it checked but it is slowly going. Am always trying to lay him on his left side. After a few weeks he got use to it and now does it automatically. When he fell asleep I would genly turn his head so would lay on left side.

Thanks everyone for heping me feel better about work!! What you all said really helped. I really shouldnt worry myself with what others think. I still deep down wish I could stay home with him but I try to think of it this way. At daycare he is getting more interaction with other kids which is helping him develop and later on down the track when we have number 2 I will be able to save some money from working now and take more time off and spend with both.

Cara will be 4 wks tomorrow so thought I might as well post here!

Just wondering if any1 else has this exp' with their bub??

When Cara has a poo it is always a huge drama - she cries very loudly, and looks to be in a lot of pain...I've spoken to a couple of child hth care nurses and they tell me its normal with some babies.
Something to do with the bowel stretchting etc!
It would ease my mind alot if I knew others were exp'ing this as well with their babies.

Other than that all is good here. although I do have problems putting her down once she has fallen asleep on me! As soon as I do she normally wakes up crying wanting to be held again...

I love to have her close but I cant very well sleep much less anything else if she is on top of me!
It takes a few tries before I successfully get her settled lying down.

I do have a bit of reading to do here - I've pretty much just come straight in to the post to ask your exp's of the first question.

Hi everyone, I hope you're all well.
I really enjoyed my holiday, its just a shame it had to end. Yasin wasn't his normal cheerful self for the first day but then he settled down and seemed to really enjoy himself. I caught up with heaps of my family which was fun. My brother is living with a friend if his who owns a worm farm so I got a guided tour. I never knew there was such a thing or that they were so complex. I have to say that after a week in the country I'm beginning to think that maybe it wouldn't be so bad to move there. We have seen a yabby/mango/macadamia/carob farm for sale that we kind of like the look of and its in our price range but probably will be sold by the time we make a desicion.
I'm about to start trying to induce Yasin to have an occasional feed from a bottle because I'm going to the grand-prix in about a month and I want to be able to leave him with a freind's mum for a few hours so I can go out to dinner. I'm tossing up between using formula or expressed milk but I'm leaning towards expressing because its free and I've noticed formula babies seem to have smellier nappies. I'm not the world's best expresser but if its only a few hours and I feed him just before going he won't need a very big bottle, just a snack to top him up if he gets sooky.

Michelle, I hope your boobs start working again soon. You will have to give them a good talking to. I worry about my supply drying up occassionally because I wouldn't have a clue how to bottle feed and I find the thought of all the sterilising and measuring a bit daunting.
Snowy, I'm glad to see you back. Yuck at getting sick, it must have been difficult looking after Wolf in those conditions. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Things like that really remind you of your peiorities don't they.
Spiddles, I'm glad you're feeling better about working. You're doing the best you can for your baby and that's all that counts. Being a great parent takes more than just staying at home.

Carol, welcome to the forum. Yasin used to go all red, pull his legs up and cry when he poohed. It made feeding a bit difficult for a while because as newborn he often seemed to poo when he was being fed so feeding would take ages because of the pooh break and nappy change in the middle. Now its just his brekky feed and lunchtime feed that he poohs in which is a relief. I've noticed other babies doing the same thing. MIL was convinced that SIL's baby (@ 1 week and breastfed) was constipated because she fretted when she poohed and gave the poor little mite prune juice!!!!! I think that it is a bit uncomfortable and scary for them so they freak out a bit but unless thier pooh is funny there is no need for concern.
Bon, Its a relief to hear that Grace's fontanelle is not a concern and that she is developing well.

Sounds like everyone and Bubs are doing well.

Carol, Alana is very animated when she poos. She doesn't cry with pain, but she goes bright red in the face and makes lots of pushing and grunting noises. We find it kinda amusing! LOL!

Alana put on another 335g the fortnight. So she is consistant. No difference in her height. DB ended up going to MCH today. I needed a break from going. He seemed to handle things great. She even changed Alana's nappy for him! Thats never happened for me!!

Alana's new dose of enzymes are going well. We have cut down at least one poo per day and the best thing, she has slept from 8:30pm to 6:30am for the last 7 nights. Woo Hoo!!!

Well after the 7 poos yesterday and 2 this morning. Wasnt sure wether to take Liam to day care or doctor. Spoke to the team leader at daycare and siad is probably best to get check out as he isnt usually like this and is probably teething. If its teething he can come back but would need all clear from doctor.

So off to the doctor we went. Doc said he seems happy enough but wasnt too sure about all the poos and teething. (they havent been really runny but still a bit sloppy) So ended up having to get a poo sample/ Was hoping he would have done one by the time he was weighed and measured as could just get it then and sullivan micolades is next door but NOPE!! As soon as I paid the bill then he went!!. 6 poos already today am kinda sick of changing nappies and hasnt got clearance to go back to daycare until Monday as if a bug going around shouldnt be contageous by then. So 2 days off work. Luckly still have some sick days which can be used for careers leave.

YAY for Alnana!!! What excellent news!! Gotta love it when they start sleeping through!!

Liam isnt really a crier when it comes to pooping. He has the past couple of days though but thats because he is getting a rash (Go the sudocream) so I think he has a sore bum. Poor little thing.Just try offering cooled boied water and see if that helps!!

Welcome Carol. Well, I can assure you it's quite normal. Wolf cries a lot of the time when he has to poo. Recently he has just been pooing once a day and then a huge amount and for quite a long time before the poo he cries and grizzles. Today he is super unhappy and crying a lot and the poo just won't come out. He sounds like he is in pain and I feel really terrible and am tossing up seeing a doctor... I have never seen him this unhappy. Poor little thing.

Met a friend yesterday and he was the first person to actually ask about my boobs. I was wearing a thin jumper and a polar fleece over that and he could still tell the difference in size.... Damien always tries to tell me that it's not noticable when wearing clothes... yeah, right. It's been snowing here for 3 days and the day time temperature has remained below zero, i.e., the snow has stayed on the ground and we have this magical winter-wonder-land outside. I love snow! Damien and I went for a walk with Wolf but half way we had to go into a cafe for a hot choccie because our faces were just freezing. Wolf does not mind the cold at all. He is wearing a snow-suit in the pram and he is nice and warm, just his cheeks get really cold but he is happy and sleeps really well in that cold weather. I am really curious to see how he will handle the Australian summer (what a temperature shock!).

cara - welcome - sorry about the crying when pooing - haven't really had that problem although lani used to cry when she burped and spewed in the first few weeks - i remember discussing this with a friend and she said her ds used to cry every time he pooed just hated the sensation (same as lani with the spewing) but they have both grown used to it now.

michelle - so sorry about you guys not being well. it is scary when they are little and they get sick, i remember jay getting a chest infection when he was 2 and a bit months old, really scary as he would not feed and slept all the time, then the antibiotics gave him the runs. how was first day back to school - i bet you were relieved to have a few less running around the house all day.

dachlostar - sounds like you had a wonderful break, maybe a move to the country that should be nice if you do it. try expressing, lani loves her bottle of ebm and now i have finally built up my supply - my bb's were like rocks this morning lol, i express after the first feed in the morning - can manage between 50 and 100mls (used to be able to get 100mls in 5mins not so long ago) - i just use a microwave steriliser but i sterilise the expressing equip on the stove in boiling water - once i put it in the microwave steriliser and they melted. i also give lani a bottle of cooled boiled water during the day - today she just wanted to chew the teat to sooth the gums, sometimes i give her water in a cup but she splutters a bit and she does prefer the teat at the moment.

spiddles - poor liam and his poo and nappy rash, my first dd was always getting nappy rash quite often red raw it was terrible especially around times of teething, don't know what cream you use but i use destinin (sp?) it is a little expensive around $7 for a small tube but i have found it to be the best i have come across and over the years i have used heaps of different creams - i just paste it all over at the first sign of rash and usually overnight it disappears. hope all that action down there is because of teething and nothing else. and yup ewwwwww about the stout - but i think it may of worked.

snowy - brrrrr you guys must be freezing. i know how you feel about bb's being a different size - lani is a one sided feeder 90% of the time, so i quite often have one bb bigger than the other although i do have it alternate bb's lol. ahh the things we do for these little georgous creatures - gotta love em. also sorry to hear about your friend who lost her child - it truly is the worst thing in the world to happen - at jay's kinder day today i met 2 other mums who had lost children, it is quite shocking to here - i tell you, sometimes i think i am the only one in the world and then you hear of others it is just terrible.

lara - that is absolutely fantastic news about alana's weight gain - she is overtaking lani in the weight gaining stakes lol - i am lucky if she puts on around 500gms in 4 wks, you must be thrilled. it is wonderful to see everything seems to be working out for you. good on the health nurse changing the nappy - i must admit my health nurse once changed lani and dressed her as well - i was quite shocked, she is a lovely lady, over the years i have had a few and must admit the very first one with my dd jessie was an absolute shocker. and great about alana's sleeps lovely.

well as i have mentioned jay had first day at kinder, although only really an orientation session for an hr and a bit and we had to stay so not a big deal really, he was so excited to get his t-shirts and jumpers, he only goes 1 day next week for 2 hrs - can't wait for it to be normal hrs but will have to wait until mid feb for that - they have a rather long settling in period.

on the milk front - my supply seems to have increased much to relief, i express once in the morning and i give that to lani at her bedtime feed around 7pm and for the first time ever she gives me that dreaming drunk look, i then finish her off on the bb, she woke at 6.30 this morning not 4am - fingers crossed everything is sorting itself out.

on the formula thing - i found this interesting some formulas are milk based and some are vegetable based which i did not know apparently nan and s26 are milk based and karicare is vegetable based.

boohoo - i bought a big block of mint aero choccie today and i just went to get some and it is all melted - this stupid darn heat - oh well i am having a iced mocca frappe - delicious, could do with that chockie tho, wonder if it is ok know (i put it in the freezer)

Dasch-Good to hear you had a great holiday, moving to the country sounds nice.

Michelle- good to hear your milk is back, and I sympathise about the chocolate, I would have been upset too. Glad Jay enjoyed his first kinder day. Josh's first day is tomorrow, video and camera are ready and I am a little sad, he said I can't cry though. Jordan had a good first day as a grade 5'er, although she ahd an attitude on when she got home and asked me "Are you stupid or something, you know I don't like that cheese?" When I dished out dinner. I was not amused at all and she got a talking to.

Yay to Alana's weight gain Lara, things seem to be going really well.

Spiddles- hope Liam is better soon, all that poohing is tiring for you let alone him. But 2 days off to be with him is good.

Carol-Jessica never has any trouble poohng, just gets really red in the face and makes grunting noises.

Snowy- Not good about the bbs, if you are really self concious maybe your idea is best, you need to feel comfortable. How cool about the snow, I've never even been to the snow, it must be like a different world living on the other side of the dateline.

We are getting better, Jessica has been fairly quiet the last few days but has found her voice again today, although she still has the cough. Arron has been working in Jessica's room, snding plaster and is as white as a ghost, he remembers how much he hates plastering evry time he starts it.

Better go he's a little frisky tonight and not listening to me tell him I am on antibiotics and he needs protection, I will not be responsible for any more pregnancies, that's for sure. I said if it's not on it's not on! LOL And I MEAN it too. I think a 5th child could just send me out to pasture. 4 is hard enough.

i am still getting the hang of this & find it interesting reading about everyone's days with their babies.
eliana & i drove to my parents on the sunshine coast today & will be up here till sunday night. had a great shopping at the plaza - got eliana heaps of clothes & toys on sale - good to have a nanny that spoils her.
think the shopping has worn her out as she has been asleep on & off since we got home.

Sounds like a lovely break for you both, and you are learning quickly, taking nannies shopping is great, esp if you have no money and they do, they can't resist. I love taking my Mum shopping, cause when I can't afford something she nearly always buys it for the kids.

My little boy is at his first day of school. He was up at 7am, and came into my room in the nude as we hadn't put undies out for him the night before and he had none in the lounge LOL told him to go get some and he said but I'm cold, no wonder with no clothes on. He got dressed and then we made him undress so he didn't put breakfast all over his uniform, he had a sandwich for bfast and then got dressed and we made him change again so he could brush his teeth and not get his unifoprm dirty LOL poor thing. We videoed and took photos and then went to school. My Mum and MIL were there to see him off, and he went in without a problem, as his little mate Eddie is in his class and they immediately went off playing. No tears, no drama's, and it was as easy as that. I didn't cry, I didn't need to, he was fine. I did have a bit of a teary last night before I went to bed, just thinking about how my little boy has grown up, but I am proud of him for being so well adjusted.

I am going to call a gf and invite her over for a cuppa, so catch up again later.

9 poos yesterday and 2 today so far.....hopefully he will get better soon. Have thousands of things going through my mind like since I have been back at work maybe I have been neglicting cleaning and he caught something or didnt I wash my hands properly or did he catching something from day care.

And now to top it off reived a letter in the mail saying they want to do a valuation on the home on tuesday. We only just moved in 3 months ago. PLEASE dont say they are selling. I hate moving and I love this house only if they do sell we dont have enough for a deposit right now. So am freaking out!! We only signed a 6 month lease to beign with. You would think they would have gotten a valuation before we moved in if they needed it for bank, insurance etc And if we do have to move its going to be so hard finding another house for rent so close to work since I cant drive.

I couldnt take it anymore so I rang the real estate. Just asked wether the house was going on the market because lease runs out in april and can start looking elsewhere or start saving a deposit. Wasnt sure if they could give me any info due to privacy laws but they told me the owner is refinanicng hasnt mentioned selling to them. I think the owner must have a few investment properties because the house next door is owned by them and rented out also. So YAY!! Hopefully it is just that!!

Oh Spiddles, it's stressful enpugh with Liam unwell, house stuff just isn't what you need, hopefully you don't need to worry, fingers crossed.

Upto 4 today so far. Doc didnt really say to do anthing different but I took him back off of solids. Hasnt had any new food introduced in over 2 weeks but then a lady my mum works with who use to work for a peadiatrison (sp?) said to give 1 teaspoon of plain asodophilous (sp?) yugurt before each feed to help fight infection (if there is one) Then the lady at the parmacy told me to put him off formula all together for 24 houts and feed him as much rice cereal, potato and apple puree as he likes with whater and gloucolite. (sp?) The introduce formula again at half stength and work its way back up to normal. I donoo what to do. Poo sample wont be back for 5 days.

Whe you get a chance cant wait to hear how the rest of Josh's day went. Is a bit silly them having their first day on friday and get all hyped up and then its the weekend at least in QLD they start on Mondays.

Gee Spiddles that is alot of conflicting info. I guess if I was you I would stop the food altogether and just give milk, whether it be bottle or breast as that is the most important part of babies diets at Liams age, I haven't started feeding solids to Jessica yet as she doesn't drink the recommended amount of 180mls which is up to 4 mths and definetly doesn't make the up to 6 mths recommendation of 24omls x 5 feeds, so she isn't hungry and really doesn't need anything more. My other 3 started on cereal at 4 months but they are all different.

Ok Josh's school day went really well, except I got to a point that I didn't know what to do with myself as both the girls were in bed by 12.20pm and I sort of didn't want to really do housework, I had already been online, pd bills and checked bellybelly and emails so... I called a girlfriend and then my SIL dropped in with my niece and nephew. I had vacced and tidyed and the house was clean, Arron even commented on the work I had done.

We all piled into the car to go pick up Josh and Jordan and funnily enough I almost didn't recognise Josh in uniform with his hat on. The teacher said he had had a good day and that he was tired, which I realised. They all brought home a decorated letter about there day which tells you what they did which is a great idea as they can never remember as they are so tired, he was acting really silly too, showing his tiredness. When we got home he told me he didn't want to go to school as it takes too long, he wanted to play xbox. I just laughed, Bad luck buddy it's only jus begun. This morning I told him to brush his teeth and he said he couldn't. So I told him that he was too young for school his comment was " Too Young! I'm 5 you know, I'm almost 10" LOL yeah right slow down is what I say. I don't want him to go from 5 to 10 in 12 mths, what a nightmare.

Anyway Jess is in bed, the others are watching true lies and I am in the middle of updating the girls websites. I am also going to start a Vilinskis family website so I can put photos of Jordan and Joshua on there. The websites are a great way of my sister watching the kids grow up from QLD.

HELLO EVERYONE! No times for personels as we are going to the country for my cousins 21st.First time millana has slept outside of home.I am taking her bassinet so it will be something familiar,and her nightlight.I hope it goes good as i would like to have a good time too.I havnt been to a party for so long.
Millana is now 8 and half weeks and weighs 4480g and 57cm long.I seen another baby at the clinic that was 6.5 months and her name was milla.She was so tiny.Only a bit bigger than millana.I think that sometimes mine is going to end up being a big boofa.
Carol,millana goes all read in the face and sometimes can be unsettled(kicking legs around) alot until she poos and then she relaxes for the day after that.She cries when she farts and most times does poo when she is having a feed.
Sometimes i think millana is 6months and not 8weeks.She watches tv and the computer and likes to be placed on your shoulder so she can look around.I bet she will be one of these kids running in all directions wanting to explore.Apparently i was fascinated with those rides that you pay 20c for in shopping centres.There probably a $1 now! Payback for me! as i was terrible to mum.A RATBAG!
