happy new year grrrls!!! I hope 2005 is a rippa for all of us and our babies.
I was just wondering how you all settle your babies on those restless days. I find that what works one day often won't work the next time which can be a little frustrating.

dachlostar - what does bubs do when restless? i.e. what signs and what times of the day - before/after feeds etc? Do you think he just might need something different? When it's hotter weather I find Elijah more unsettled than usual, but he often wants more feeds (thirsty I guess!) but the more breastfeeds he has the more windy he gets too! So we have lots of fun but he's a good bubba. What does Yasin do and when?

Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new year!! Now i can say my Beautiful boy was born last year!!
I hope you all had a great NYE. I just went to a friends house and had some drinks. One thing I found funny was- you know when you have lightbuls moments? Well i had about four last night. I realised that i was doing what people expected of me instead of being me and now i am going to just be myself. I also thought about PCOS being a shield for me to say that if i fail at losing weight that is why, so I am going to stop using that also. (Those are the main two) So I am quite proud of myself now!!

Anyway- Ryley is rolling both ways, sleeping weird atm- sometimes wakes at 6 othertimes 4 am- has just gone all random on us!! He is on 5x240mL now and seems to be very contented when awake. He is awake so much more now!! (In regard to restless settling techniques- sometimes i put Ryley cradled in really tight and dont let him struggle away- I pat his bottom and tell him how much i love him in a gentle voice; this works well for us- might help?)
Dh has had 2 weeks off and i love him but i cant wait for him to go back to work coz then i can have my own routine again. It is lovely to have him around the house though.
Sometimes i go to get (or Dh does) Ryley in the morning and he has rolled over and stuck his leg out of the cot!! Poor little guy is just so active!!! He is 9 kgs now and 68cm long!! The new CHN said to me- Is your baby on solids and i said no not just yet and she said well do you realised he doesnt need to be? It was funny she had made her assumption that i would say yes without listening to what i answered!!

Anyway I hope everyone is well!!

    Happy New Year Again Guys!!

I was thinking yesterday its been well over a month since I have been helicoptered on and what happens!!! So I thought well I know he has already been will give him some nappy free time and put a cruiser down in the lounge room. 5 mins later GRRRRRR!!! and missed the cruiser!!!

DH said to me last night I didnt know being a parent would be this easy *LMAO* I said to him we are lucky he is such a happy boy and settles himself very well. I said we will probably in for a big shock when the next one comes along.

Sorry Dacholstar I can't really help you. Liam is always easy to settle. Usually a cuddle, pat on the bum or stroking of his forehead always works.

Am still concerned about Liam's eating. Still not drinking much at all and can nearly feel his ribs. Will talk to doctor on wednesday. He is flat out drinking 150ms 5 times a day.(more like 500ml all up if that) And my Mum goes dont worry he will cry when he is hungry but that the thing he doesn't. I just have to guess and if he doesnt will sit there and smile and coo or will drink it. He is getting to interested in everything around him and always stares out our food when eating. Might talk to doctor about starting him on solids too. I thinik he is about 7.5kgs and 70 cms. Very long and lean. Not a solid boy like Ryley.

Remember how I told you guys about my Niece who is 14 months and still has no teeth. Well she has to go and have x-rays done as the doctor is now concered. Poor little thing!!

Best of luck for your neice spid !! poor little mite. 7.5kg doesn't sound too bad for a 3mth old baby !! I think Lachlan was around that if not less.

    Hi girls!

Spiddles - IKWYM about being concerned about the amount Liam is eating. Hudson is also only having five 150ml bottles a day, and we have just started solids despite his diminishing appetite, and I struggle to get him to eat a couple of teaspoons of rice cereal each day. He is a little boy and has been from birth, but it still concerns me as I thought his appetite would increase, not decrease. He was 6.86kg two weeks ago and is just over 5 months old now. Will be having a chat to the CYH nurse shortly if things don't change.

Pee - I also KWYM about the legs out of the cot thing. Hudson does that a lot. He is pretty mobile too, and once he wakes up will roll around his cot, and end up in all kinds of funny positions. I thought that the fact that we wrap him tight would stop that, but he is a little houdini. He also turns onto his tummy sometimes to sleep which worries me, not being sids safe at all, but can't seem to find a way to stop him. LOL at wanting your DH to go back to work. I feel the same way sometimes too, as I like my and Hudsons routine, and DH is not a routine kinda guy at all lol.

We are going ok here, but still reflux/constipation issues, but you have all heard about them enough, so I won't go into it today lol. On a brighter note, Hudson was right up on his hands and knees today and took one step/crawl IYKWIM and then toppled over. So cute. Very scary though, as I didn't think most bubs crawled until around 8 months? Does anyone know if that is right? Need to dig out my books and have a look. Actually that is pretty positive that I haven't had them out lately. I must be getting confident in my abilities as a mummy lol.

Hope everyone had a great New Years and that you and your bubs are all doing great!

Marcia....Matilda's crawling... she started a week before she was 6 months... lol.... sounds like Hudson's pretty similar to her, maybe it has to do with reflux?? Weird....anyway just thought I'd let you know...

WOOHOO! for crawling babies!! (for them not for the parents chasing after them!! My nephew was sitting up by himself at 4 months crawling by 6 and walking by 9 so watch out!!

Marcia - KWYM about the eating thing. Liam use to be a little guts and would feel every 2 hours on 150 mls and now nothing!!! I thought the same as you since they get bigger shouldnt that be eating more? Am more concerend about the weight for his height being he is so tall. If he was shorter I probably wouldn;t be so concerned.

Well Liam should be moving into his proper cot this week. (see woohoo room) and I bet he will get his legs stuck too. In the basinete part of portacoat when he wakes up in the morning has done a 360 and is facing the other way kicking and gurgling and chewing on his sheets.

    Hi all

Hope everyone had a great New Years

Pee - wow at Ryley being 9 kgs! That is funny about the nurse assuming he was on solids.

I managed to stay up until 1:30 on new years before I crashed. Then of course I felt like a zombie later. Oh to have a sleep in...

I know when Harry started crawling I had to find new storage places for things and change the layout of the furniture a bit. It's a whole new ballgame when they can get themselves around, and then they start pulling themselves up on things and then walking and you have go around and move even more stuff out of their reach!
Harry crawled at 7 months and walked at 10 months...

Grace has just woken up so I better go feed my hungry baby!

    Bon

Hi everyone, I hope you're all well.
I've ordered a hammock for Yasin. I hope it arrives soon. He is about to grow out of his bassinet and I've heard that they sleep better in them. I hope that he sleeps more soundly in it than he does at the moment. He is a really light sleeper and through the day he catnaps for just a tiny while then he wakes up still too tired to enjoy being awake. It can get a bit fraught for both of us because then he needs alot of rocking to get back to sleep so I get nothing else much done. I geuss it doesn't help much that I have no routine in my own life and nor does DH so he can't be sure when he is going to taken out or when people are coming and going. My MIL makes things more difficult when she sees him because we say he needs to sleep he's tired she says no he's not and then gets in his face and won't let him sleep. Last night I tried pointing out all his tired signs when she woke him (red eyes, grumpy face, jerky hands, yawning) but I don't think I got through to her and the poor little guy didn't get to sleep until after 10. I wish that I was better at standing up for myself (or my baby).
DH just got home so I geuss I should go and find out how his day went.
So no time for personal but I hope that the babies off thier food start eating better soon and yay for crawling and rolling.
