well good news the fever has finanly broken and he has the rash..I looked up my baby illness book and looks like the Roseola Infantum too Ambah, but don't feel all guilty again because it is something you can't diagnose until the rash comes! It is a relief because his breathing was getting really scary and I was scared it was something more serious. The fever has finaly gone..and lots of red splotches..perhasp he's had both together poor mite, now we just have to hope the rapid breathing slows down :( or we'll be having trouble at the diteicians on friday..he hasn't been eating or drinking his sustegen :(
That is great that the fever has broken Katanya. Goodluck for Friday as well.
Love
Oh no Katanya, I was dreading hearing that! poor little possum having a double whammy of sicknesses :( I really hope his breathing comes good, and he starts guzzling his Sustagen. I know Aidyn's appetite was way down when he had the fevers too...
Please give him a big cuddle from me!
Wow Kat, sounds like you scored on the clothes!! And after your shopping trip on Friday, you wont even know yourself! ;)
LOL @ Lachlan! We have given Aidyn one of our old model mobile phones as well, though he much prefers ours which light up and make noise ;)
Christy - it sounds like Family day care is going to be really good for Matilda, and even better is that you know that the daycare Mum understands Matilda and is just so great. Wow @ the 3 hr nap!
I'm another one that is not so good at cleaning... DP is on my back about it all the time. I try to keep the main areas tidy, like the kitchen, lounge and dining... but when it comes to our own bedroom - it looks like a bomb has hit it - there are clothes all over the floor! Our study has just had a huge cleanup too, thanks to the addition of our new filing cabinet (thanks MIL!), but we will see how long that last, lol.
I didn't do any personals before so here I try ;)
Ambah: I'm sure he'll bounce back now! He ate some lunch today, don't worry I am the worst house cleaner in the world, I ahve days of being realy clean and then I go out too many days in a row and it all falls apart!
Kathryn don't you love getting hand me downs, I love inheriting other people's clothes especially those with good taste...sounds like you really have a great start to your wardrobe on friday..ooh I envy you getting a new look..first I'd like to shave my butt off and then I'd have all my old clothes to wear anyhow!
Christy.yay for C&K, I booked him this morning, for 2008, god it looked so great, I wish I could send him next year!! The staff, the playground, the kids, it all lookked fantastic, the activites..wow! I am so happy with it! So gald the Family day care situation is working out, it sounds wonderful, I might actually try to get Felix into one up here, maybe I will ring and see after reading what you feel about it..you never know!
I am actually think of booking Felix in for the Steiner school for schooling, I have to take DP to an info night and see if it is for us, the only problem is the schools up here are meant to be really great and small and community orintated, and the steiner school is 30 mins drive each way, but I just love it there the playgroup is unreal!
Oh I forgot to mention..guess what my mischeivous "sick" boy did last night?? ate my lipstick (stolen from my bag) and smeared it all over the house, and I had to brush it off his teeth and throw the tooth brush away..he pooed lipstick this morning :( I only have 2 lipsticks..
Oh Katanya I remember when Kameron got into all my good makeup and thought he would play with it out in the sandpit. I haven't bothered replacing it yet. Lachlan has to grow up first ;) ROFL @ shaving your butt off as well.
I wore my new clothes to playgroup this arvo and the mum that gave them to me laughed. So yeah really looking forward to the shopping spree. I will have to have a cleanout myself now and ditch some of my daggy stuff.
Ambah - I have a bedroom that looks like a bomb too. All our lace curtains are ripped in there as well from where our dog lays in the window so they will have to be replaced soon. I clean it up and then Andrew destroys his side again, I am sure he is worse than the kids. Then it just spills over the rest of the room. Didn't help that he spent 3 days in bed with the flu last week.
Love
Oh thats so exciting Kathryn!! I just got some $$ that my aunt sent via mum & I was all ready to go shopping and then I opened the mail and the forgotten rego was sitting there....oh well...maybe next time some unexpected $$ comes around LOL
Ambah - Our bedroom is just the same i just close the door when someone comes round and just pray that Kimberley does not open it again while they are here.
Katanya - Sorry but i had to laugh when you said about the makeup.
Christy - Hope next time you do get some extra $$ you get to spend them on you.
Kimberley is getting far to cheeky. She keeps telling me to go to bed when i am telling her off.
Oh Katanya, I was PMSL when I read what Felix did to your lipstick! I know it wouldnt have been funny IRL at all though... what a cheeky little boy, lolol!!
And LOL @ shaving your butt off!! I often wish I could shave or 'sculpt' my fat off to be the shape I want to be... if only....
Christy - great news about the money! Pity you didnt get to spend it on yourself, but I guess at least you wont have any trouble paying the rego now ;)
yes the lipstick is funny in retrospect..wasn't impressed at the time though..I found more lipstick finger prints over the house today  It's one of those things I'll be saving for his 21st party
good news about the extra $$ Christy sounds like it came right at the perfect time!
Hi everyone
I hope you all don't hink my house is a display home cos it's not. I have been happy with it looking tidy for the last couple of weeks but will never achieve that impossible goal. Our bedroom has been tidy for the last 2 weeks but bf that....always clean washing on the floor, unmade bed etc. LOL Bad luck i say!
kathryn- yay on the clothes, it is so good to have nice things to wear, the countdown to shopping day is well and truly on! ANd your poor boy needing a light up mobile LOL Funny how they work things out so quickly.
Ambah- sounds like Aidyn is indeed clever, it's gorgeous when they start doing cute things like getting your shoes. Jemma is my helper, she will help unpack the dishes nd clean up and put clothes away. So gorgeous!
Christy- Yay at you day care lady and wow at the 3hr sleep. Hope she sleeps well tonight!
What is a Steiner school?
Anyway, not much to report here. GOt 1 full page completed last night and the writing on another. So I was way ambitious....but I am planning Jordan's first trip to the zoo for next week and want to cut out the pics this week bf I go to save time. I think it will take about 4 pages for all the pics.
Good night all
Sorry if i missed anyopne
Michelle
Hi All :D
Michelle a Steiner school is a pre-school/kindy (correct me if I'm wrong katanya :D ) and they have different "beliefs" or "ideas" on child rearing. I actually really like their concept, all wooden toys, fresh food etc. I have only heard from friends who are sending their daughter there next year. & they are driving 30 minutes to go there...
Matilda went to the day care "mum's" house today and came home to have her nap & she's been asleep 2 1/2 hours!!! (maybe she puts something in the food :-k ) LOL, but I went and spent the first hour with them & then ran around for an hour & half....getting my stuff done while mum cleaned my floors! YAY! Last time she didn't help as much & we fought the whole time she was here but this time she started cleaning & I said go for it, do whatever you want however you want....LOL
no michelle lol i would be checking to see if you had a circuit board (ala stepford wives) if you were able to keep a display home cleaning standard lol..i'm sure you are clean but within reason..with 4 children you'd have to have SOME mess!
Christy that sounds brilliant with the family day care, and sounds like she had a good time if she slept so much..yay at you getting your house cleaned and being okay with it (my mum is like that too)
well exciting news we found out that the ABC child care down the mountain..yes kathryn i will be coming down the mountain lol..is brilliant..i loved the room, playarea, the kids were happy, the group leader is young but great, and Felix just threw himself in..AND she's happy to use cloth nappies!! they have 2 days placement but i thought we'd try 1 day, a wednesday..as thursday we have playgroup i will put my name down for friday and either swap or add a day..i am currently on hold trying to contact the child care benifit people..
Steiner, basically as Christy said its a alternative schooling system, based on natural ways of teaching, it is christian/pagan based, the playgroup is brilliant, we sing all the time, bake bread, do natural craft, oral story telling, share fruit..it's very calm and both of us enjoy it..
Katanya that is great news you found an ABC centre that you like. I think they are great Kimberley is always well looked after when she goes.
When does Felix start ?
next week 8-[ DP is okay with it..now have to fill out the massive booklet! I thing he'll be okay, in fact it may be good for his eating!
Thats great about getting Felix into the ABC centre Katanya - and so quickly too, without having to wait on a long list!
Sounds like you've been having a good day Christy, what with getting your floors cleaned, & Matilda's big nap.... YAY!! :D
Havent done much today... Went to the gym again this morning, and luckily aidyn has been really good this week and has been enjoying himself :)
Then went to the shops this arvo with my sister, had a coffee, and bought Aidyn a new book.
Anyway... I'm off to bed now, need an early night as I have to get up early for gym tomorrow.
Hey Guys - mind if join in this forum??
Thanks
Jen
Christy can I borrow your mother LOL.
I have so much going on here in the next few days. It is Andrew's b/day tomorrow, his parents are arriving spot on 4pm right as he gets home from work, so I have to do all the housework by myself, cause they will probably actually beat him here. I mean seriously you'd think they could arrive at 4.30 or even come after tea and give the poor guy a chance to change and have a shower.
My parents are coming sometime late tomorrow night. I still haven't got Andrew a b/day cake or card... at least i have his presents, and in between I have to fit in food shopping which he wont be impressed about going shopping on his birthday !! I can't put food back a day cause it is Clothes shopping day Friday and I am baby sitting Friday night :D
Then Saturday is our BellyBelly meet at 1pm at my place so will have to re-tidy for that Saturday morning ;) and no doubt Andrew will have the car anyway cause he usually works 6hrs on a Saturday morning. I am hoping one of the playgroup mums is free in the morning to take me food shopping so at least that is done. ...... oh got a msg back. She can take me YAY.
Katanya That is great that you managed to get into the ABC centre. I hope that Felix enjoys it
Michelle I hope you have a great time at the zoo. Apparently my best friend (also called Michelle lol) went to our Adelaide Zoo the other week with her 2yr and she was really disappointed in it, although her son still had a good time.
Anyway I should be working, but might goto bed now instead.... Mum will kill me tomorrow night for not doing it all, hopefully I can squeeze in a hours worth somewhere tomorrow arvo.
Love
Jen ***HUGS***
I don't mind at all.. Have missed you chook
Love
Thanks Babe!!!
Little Joshua has been such a little terror today. I think he has got the two year old tantrums a year early!!!
He is very impatient and very eager to grow up. He grabs his spoon to feed himself (and the floor and the curtains and the chairs and mummy and anything else he can flick food over)
And since learning how to run 2 weeks ago he has been running into doors and walls and anything else he is the right height to bump his head into.
Anyway he is being an angel now (he is asleep) So hopefully he will let me sleep.
Love Jen
LMAO Jen..... I remember those days actually why remember them when I am living them again with little Lachlan. We haven't got to the running into walls stage yet as he is the early stages of walking, but the floor and walls get a good feeing every now and then ;) but he isn't doing too badly with a spoon.
Does he sleep all night ??
Love
Welcome jen, looks like you need a new Ticker.
Phew Kathryn, after reading all of that I was out of breath. Hope everything works out, I' sure it will, it's amazing what you can fiot into one day, or 2 or 3 in your case LOL. Hope Andrew's bday went well. Did you see the shuttle launch?
Katanya- well done on the place at the centre. Now ABC centres are what? I am not sure we have them in VIC. The stenier school sounds very good. I bet Felix just loves it.
Christy- gotta love someone cleaning the floors. Except in my case if it was my MIL!LOL And matilda's sleeping is improving ! Great news, how are the nights going?
Ambah- you are doing so well with going to gym, good on you. Sounds like a good day!
Jen- you have a Joshua too! Just saw the 2nd post, good luck cos mine is a terror, something about the name LOL. But they are definite angels when they are sleeping.
Jemma is also sleeping soundly tonight, has been up once for a drink of water and back to bed. She always comes in my bed for a cuddle about 7am and I don't mind, cos sleeping time is practically over anyway.
Have a good day tomorrow girls.
Cheers Michelle
I was out of breath typing it Michelle ;) Andrew's birthday is tomorrow, and yes we were up till 1am watching the shuttle launch..... held our breath from T minus 1 min, till about 2 mins into the lift off i think. We both breathed a sigh of relief around the same time LOL. It was a very long night the night Columbia burnt up, had a phone call around 3am in the morning saying we had better turn on the tele.
Andrew of course idolises Andy Thomas the Aussie Astronaut on board Discovery doing his very last mission. ;)
Love
I must admit to being a little concerned about the missing tile/debris falling off the shuttle. Andy Thomas' family are from SA, any chance you know them? Hope the bday is great and he loves the pressies.
Cheers Michelle
Nope we don't know Andy Thomas and family. Andrew would be a pig in **** if he did hahahahha. Andrew had Nasa TV connected from the moment he got home last night to the moment he went to bed. Must admit there was some good images from the shuttle cameras looking back at earth.
Love
ABC centres are just a chain of childcares, a few people on here have given them a good rap, Icertainly was impressed, I used to work at this child care (with a child with a disability) and it has improved since ABC took it over (was good before) we have our forms all filled out..I'm actually really nervous that it wont make him sicker, I am having a few guilt feelings but I am looking forwrad to a day off..I'll start him off on a half day..:
Michelle
Kathryn good luck with andrews B'day sounds like he'll have a good one!
Welcome back Jen!! sounds like you have your hands full there with Josh!
Ambah I really admire your dedication to the gym, I really need to start something physical, not so much as for losing weight but just to feel better..I feel like an old woman some days 8-[ Unfortunately I'd have to drive 20 mins each way to one with a creche..seems alot of petrol each day..:(
Felix is having his next needles in our 12 month list we have 3 weeks of them to go..will wait with the MMR to next week as he has been sick..his breathing isn't great still..will see if he's well enough today..I have to get a letter from the DR too about his needles being delayed because he's been sick for the Child care..
Have a great day girls! :D
Katanya - Hope Felix has fun next week at child care.
Kathryn - Wish Andrew a Happy Birthday from us. Only 1 more day and you will be going clothes shopping :)
You'll have to give us a fashion show on Saturday of what you brought.
Ambah - Well done on going to the gym.
Not much going on with us we made some more cakes today. Kimberley is still no further along with her toilet training just when you think she has it then she stops again.
One good thing she is so good with Alex today he was dribbling milk and she went to get a tissue to wipe his face and give him a cuddle. Also she went to get him a blanket to put over him as he was playing on his other one.
Hi everyone, i'm back, it's hard to get 5 minutes to myself these days.
Kathryn i hope Andrew has a great birthday
Katanya I hope Felix has a great time at daycare, Nick used to love it.
Ambah I wish i was that motivated to excersise, the most i do is get the excersise bike out every day while Oprah is on if i can get the boys to sleep at the same time LOL
Michelle, i hope everything is ok with you, bummer anout Kimberley's toilet training, i'm sure she'll get back into it soon.
We've been going quite well lately, Nick has finally started going to the toilet and telling me when he needs to go, so hopefully i can get him fully toilet trained soon.
He is being really well behaved atm which i am so pleased about, and he has gotten his first 2 swimming certificates too so we are thrilled with that too.
Well i hope to start getting on here regularly from now on, i will try anyway.
*Michelle* dunno about a fashion show hahahaha, may even end up coming home with nothing yet, which I doubt will be the case. Just had a big cleanout of some of my daggier stuff from the wardrobe.
Naomi Hellooooo.
Well no time to stop and chat, had to sit down cause my feet were hurting, from being on them for most of the day. Have dishes to do, floor to sweep and mop, washing to hang out and then I might be able to relax a bit. Just under 2 hrs to the IL's arrive.
Thanks to everyone for Andrew's b/day wishes. I will pass them onto him when I see him in a couple of hours.
Love
Good luck with the cleaning Kat, and say Happy Birthday to Andrew from me too!
Hi Naomi! Good to see you in here :)
Well done to Nick on his swimming certificates! =D>
DP will be getting home any minute now, so will write more later...
Hello girls!! Wow so much to catch up on.
Jen Hello! Its great to hear from you again. LOL at Thomas, I just held ice on Matilda's head for 15 minutes because of a run into the corner of the refridgerator... 8-[
Naomi its like that sometimes catching 5 minutes to catch up :)
Kat well...tomorrows the big shopping day! I hopeyou have a great time!!
katanya IKWYM about the sickness..it is scary and all you can do is see how Felix goes. Matilda went to an ABC centre here and loved the girls there. Now at the Family Day Care I only worry that she may get bored LOL
Ambah you are my hero... I sooooo need to get to the gym or pool or something!! My walks aren't doing it & I realise that even a year after Matilda I still have that belly bulge.... 8-[
*Michelle* More cakes? mmmm....post one to QLD? LOL Thats really cute that Kimberley is helping look after Alex
Michellehow many little ones go to your bed in the morning? We were just wanting to get Matilda to come in for a cuddle in the morning and then we thought...what happens if we have more? We already have 2 dogs in the bed in the mornings & us & MAtilda....we'll have to get a bigger bed LOL!
Hello to everyone else! Sorry with no more personals...
We had playgroup today for the first time in a month which went well. Mum was a bit surprised at how full on Matilda is....LOL & I of course just put her to work & don't feel bad about it anymore :D Then we went to the park after her nap & she had a full tanty when I was trying to put her in the car, Mum hadn't experienced one of those yet...so she said its an eye opener for her because she can't remember us ever being so head strong LOL
Sleep is going better. One good night and then one bad night etc. But when a bad night is only once in the night, nothing like it used to be YAY!
Hey Girls
Hope you have all had good days. Once again Joshua is finally asleep so I get some "me" time. He sleeps pretty well now from about 7pm to 5am with only one bad spot around 2-4am where he just wont resettle himself.
Kathryn - hope Andrew is having a great party. I hope that you are finally getting a chance to relax. (you'll need all your strength for the big shopping day tomorrow)
Katanya - We are sending Joshua to a Steiner play group next year. When we took him down to the school fair he just loved it and didnt want to leave. And because we are immunising him homeopathically they are totally cool with that. we wont get any s^&*t from people about making our own choices.
mitch4now - Joshua is a little handful. Is so into everything. My own personal monster (in a good way). He reminds me of Yoda in return of the Jedi I think(well one of them)- when he goes through Luke skywalkers bags. He is really alert and really inquisitive. Thanksgod he is past the "10 minute power nap stage".
Christy - After Joshua has a big stack I get frightened to take him outside. I think people may start to think I hit him or something. When he was 10 months he fell of our bed onto the floor boards and had a really huge bruise. I took him to the doctor straight away cause I was scared he did some damage. At the same time DH had an operation on his hand and it was all bandaged and in a sling. The Dr started to question how he did it and made me feel really bad.
Love
Jen

LOL Christy! If i'm your hero, then I think you should see some of the women that go to my gym! I would almost kill to be that trim, taut and FIT! They are amazing, and half of them are Mums of little ones too. I'm just hoping that if I keep it up for another year I may just get down to being twice their size, instead of thrice their size, lol ;)
blergh... did I mention that I ate a whole pizza tonight?? 8-[
and you wonder why I need to go to the gym, ROFL!!!
Anyway, I'm off to bed to sleep of that huge meal... night night! xox
The main thing Ambah is that you went......
After a year I still havent found the courage to enter the gym. I have some weird notion in my head that I am too fat and everyone will look at me and think what a slob????
But if id just wake up to myself and realise that I need to go to the gym to help get rid of the weight I'd be fine.
Babies - What do they do to our brains???? LOL
Aaah yes... the gym... I remember the gym. One day I'll have to go back.
Well we've had headlice here this week. I discovered one in my 4 y.o's hair and spent a whole day treating her hair (she has tight curly hair... but at least it's very blonde so you can see the crawlies *UGH*) and also did Zeke's, the blankets, sheets, pillowcases, towels, hats etc etc you get the picture.
So I'm dreading having a look in her hair today and seeing more that escaped the wrath of me yesterday!
But the weather has been spectacular up here over the last few days and we've spent most of the time down at the beach or at the park lapping it up.
Hope you're all having a spectacular day :D
lice....I was waiting for them because the day care had some a few months ago. One thing I found is that during head lice season *lol* a lot of mums come into the vet clinic & buy flea spray....apparently it works a treat and only takes one treatment, but its pretty toxic stuff... :-k don't think I would be using it....one of the vets tried it after she got lice from sky diving helmuts & it worked within a few hours. Luckily Matilda hasn't gotten it yet *fingers crossed*
EEWWWWW lice from sky diving helmets! Yucky... makes you think about where you rest your head.... like at movie cinemas, trying on hats at shops etc
Gabrielle and Zeke were quite pleased that they had "beetles" hiding in their hair 8-[
Rofl @ being pleased about having beetles in your hair. We went through it with Kameron a couple of months ago, but he was the only one in the whole playgroup apparently out of the 3 sessions he goes to that had it, and the hairdresser said he just had the eggs, oh plus she said I had it as well. Of course we treated that same night, but makes me wonder if he really did have it in a way.
Well today is the big day.. A bit nervous and excited. LOL. I hope I am not too fussy for the poor girls taking me 8-[ Will be able to spend a couple hundred dollars so that will be cool and if I go over that figure O:) I can get the money that is mine out of my mums bank and put it back into mine.
Anyway 20 mins till playgroup so I had better get myself organised.
Love
Christy - You are right about the dog flea spray. My SIL had headlice for years and she also gave them to me once. When we got our dog we sprayed the whole house before she came home and we found SIL's headlice had gone and never came back.
Have fun on your shopping trip Kathryn :)
Not much going on here at the moment. Kimberley is at day care today so it is nice and quiet \:D/
A quick post. I have heard that Advantage Kitten is really good for treating lice and nits. Don't know if it works, just something I had heard. We use NADS here.
Gotta go
Cheers
