Happy bithday to Eliana! Glad to hear her party went well!
And yours too Pee... the piccies look fantastic, love the outfits!! :D
Christine - its a sad story with the turkeys actually... a number of the babies have been caught by our cats... and there's nothing we can do ](*,) We had a cute little baby come up to our door yesterday, so we tried to catch it but it was too fast for us. Not too fast for our cat Moggles though... :( Its really sad....
I hope we suceed in catching at least a few to save... we are going to drop them off in the Mt Cootha Nat park which is not too far from here, I figure they would have the best chance there...
-
It sounds like everyone had great parties. !!!
Aww at the baby turkeys Ambah :( but you have said all along they will have no chance with the cats
I was busy all day yesterday hosting a surprise 60th birthday which went off fantastically
There have also been a few dramas between my step-dad and his own daughter at the end of last week, so that story will probably unfold a bit more as the week progresses. ](*,)

Yay for parties! I'm glad they all went well. What an awesome costume, Pee. That's very funny. I love costume parties.
The poor turkeys, Ambah. I hope you get them all off the park safe and sound. Good on you for going to the gym too - I just started swimming today and it's RAD! makes you feel so good.
Glad to hear that your party went well, Kathryn. You're a braver girl than I am! Sorry to hear about the family situation too - families are such complicated things at times. I hope that it resolves itself soon.
Sorry to anyone I missed. This is just a quick procrastination visit - I'm just about to start studying, but I hadn't checked any of my friends blogs or most of my forums for almost a week and there was so much to catch up on - I have my priorities, you know! Nothing much to report here anyway, other than that I have my first ultrasound on Wednesday which will be nice. It's weird to think that after almost three months all the evidence we have of the existence of Bob (as we have named him while he's still "in" - DH would call him that when he's "out" if I let him, but that's not happening!) is an ever-expanding waistline and some sickness. I haven't even been able to hear the heartbeat yet, so I'll feel much better after Wednesday. How are things going with you, Bath? Hope you're ok.
Right, psychology, here we come! Hope you're all fabulous and wonderful and that your bubs are treating their mums like the princesses that they are.
-
Hello girls!! Just a quick note to say I'm back!! Got back this arvo & I have pages & pages to catch up on :D But I'll start here saying we had a great time, except for flights, we were "that" couple with the screaming child the entire time, even with maximum sedations.... 8-[ I'm not looking forward to America in a month eeeekkkk!!!
-
Christy hope you had a nice time away.
Glad your party went well Kathryn
Ambah hope you manage to catch your turkeys.
Kimberley had her last day at day-care on Friday only one of the workers said goodbye to her. I was so upset by that not even the director that i saw in the morning say anything.
Kimberley will only be out of day-care until Feb.
She is starting to get dry nappies when she sleeps but i still don't want to take them away just yet.
-
That was a bit rude michelle. I'd be ****ed off with that as well.
Christy great to have you back chook. :( @ Matilda screaming on the plane. OMG I don't envy you going to America at all now LOL

OK I have shocking news...and I don't entirely know what to do about it if anything....
Matilda poo'd on the toilet tonight.
Thats right. DH was giving her a bath and said she seems to need to do a poo (she does one after her bath around 85% of the time) and I said, go for it. So he did and 1 minute later she poo'd on the toilet!!!! I mean she can't even get up to the toilet & stay on...
So I'm off tomorrow to buy a potty and get a new bed for Matilda as she can definately get out of all cots. She's pretty safe about it now, but its a definate LOL. She got out of the cots after sleeping during holidays, but it was funny, she'd have her sleep & pop herself out of the cot after a couple hours and it was always just as I was going upstairs to check on her...
So YAY for Matilda!!!
-
Yay Matilda.
Hope you have fun sleeping in your new bed soon.
-
hello all
haven't been posting in this thread much SO SORRY - am reading everything but most of my posts have been in the ttc thread, but i think i will pop in here more as i think i am getting a little obsessive.
christy - great to hear you had a nice holiday not so great about the plane oh well lets hope your big trip to america will be better and OMG MATILDA what a girl - poo on the loo (oh that rhymes lmao) and a bed, she is one advanced little chicken you have there christy what a little darling - gosh it used to give me a fright when the kiddies would wake from there nap and just "appear" i used to jump out of my skin all the time lol.
ambah - just read your fantastic news on your studies that is awesome - you are going to study nursing aren't you - oh good luck i think you will be fantastic - so sad about the turkey babies
mel - hi to you and eliana, sounds like you had a nice party - and also re eliana's weight (read that in another post somewhere) don't worry to much, i am having the same problems with lani, although she is only 8.8kgs but 78cms so long and lean just like eliana, trust me you will know if something isn't "right"
pee - sounds like you had a fun time at your parties. are you all better in your household gosh i hope so, you have had a bit of a bad run
kathryn - you have been busy busy too, with a big party - gosh all these parties and drinking hmmmm i am a tad jeleaous. how is kamryn enjoying kinder?? jay is getting sooooo excited about school next year, he wants to wear his uniform every day around the house lol
bon - how are you going up there in sunny qld?
kellee - you sound like you are well, how many weeks are you now, are you gonig to find out if you are having a pink or blue baby. how much study to go for you - sounds exhausting
misty - hi to you too, how are you going - you guys were struck with the gastro bug to weren't you, hope it has long gone
michelle - that was a bit sad about no-one saying anything to kimberley or you on her last day.
michelle - where are you, hope you are all okay and jsut busy with the kiddies.
dachlostar - where are you haven't read a post from you for ages. hope all is going well with your prg.
gosh i do hope i have said hello to everyone - so sorry if i haven't and hello to you all
well nothing much exciting here - lani is now walking with her little car things alot more but is not game to let go lol. took her to my gp, as i needed my iron levels rechecked and mentioned to her that the health nurse wanted me to get a referral to see a physio re lani being pigeon toed, i was worried when i heard this from my mchhn but saw a friend the other day whose daughter is the same age and is doing the exactly same thing with her feet - so i thought i would ask my gp and she said everything is fine and normal and the health nurse was wrong in saying what she said, she also said she doesn't believe in using toddler milk for babies, that cows milk is the way to go. she said that alot of mums that use toddler milk feel a bit more relaxed if the child doesn't eat the right sort of foods (ie vegies etc) as they are getting it in the milk and the babies tend to drink more milk - certainly makes sense to me as that is how i have been thinking - so cows milk is the go now in this house and i have been cooking up creative type meals and appetite is getting alot better.
oh and lani has a bit of a runny nose happening and looks like the other molar is on the way, along with a couple of eye teeth - lets hope she gets them before christmas so she is nice and happy.
well i better go before this post gets way to big - that will teach me for not posting more often sorry.
-
Great to hear from you Mooshie.
Well we had a bit of drama here tonight. I will copy my post from the Mod forum, so apologies to Christy and Ambah who would have already read it.
I was sitting here minding my own business (well cooking tea actually) when I heard Kameron turn the pedastal fan on in our room. I yelled 'KAMERON TURN THAT OFF RIGHT NOW" then I hear the sound of something being put into it I go screaming in there and Lachlan is screaming. He had stuck his finger in the fan through the guard !!! Blood was ****ing everywhere his finger double in size.
I rang my surgery and my GP was fully booked but they said to come in and he will be waiting for you. I rang a friend to take me as Andrew had just left work, but her phone and mobile both rang out. So I rang another friend and got their answering machine !!! so I locked the house and started door knocking. Thankfully my neighbour was home so she took us straight there. I sent an SMS to andrew to meet us there.
My doctor was waiting for us bless him, and took us straight into treatment. all the skin on the underneath of his pointer finger has come off so it is now all fully dressed and we have to go back tomorrow to get it re-dressed. He is now dosed up on panadol and asleep. When I walked out of the doctors rooms and saw andrew sititng there I nearly started bawling. I think the shock for me is now setting in as I am still sitting here covered in Lachlan's blood.

OMG kathryn
what a terrible thing to happen, poor little lachlan. i felt so sick when i read your post. hope everything has settled down now and you can relax a little - have a stiff drink i reckon you deserve it.
-
Kathryn glad to hear Lachlan is going to be ok! That must have scared the life out of you!
Hi Mooshie, nice to see you again :D yes the gastro bug has left the building (WOOOOO HOOOOOOO!) That wasn't nice. And to top it all off, DH was convinced that his particular brand of the bug wasn't what the other three of us had, his, of course, was a variation of the bird flu
Ambah I left a message for you in the other forum, but CONGRATs again. You must be so excited. Good on you! (And sorry to hear about the turkey tragedy... hopefully one or two of the little guys will survive).
Christy, yay for Poo! I hope it's the first of many on the toilet. Here's to a nappy free existance :D
Hello to all you other stunning ladies. I'm so slack, I'm too tired to go back and do personals for everyone. (Note to self: must try harder to get in here and post at a reasonable hour).
-
Kathryn that must have been awful for you. Hope Lachlan will be alright.
At least you where able to have everything done at your doctors and you didn't have to sit around at the hospital.
Give Lachlan a big hug from me.
-
HI girls
Michelle (mooshie) I am here and ok, just sooo flat out it's not funny, with trying to do xmas shopping and walking and sports with the kids and curriculum days today !Yuck! And they have another bf the end of the yr, just what I don't need. Yay for Lani walking with the trolley, just a confidence thing from stopping her from taking off. I wish Jessica was less confident, picture a tiny little one, climbing on the activity table and using it to climb on the pool table and then dance in the middle! She is a bugger, she does the slide all by herself too and goes crazy on the trampoline!
I am going to Ikea on friday now, didn't get there last week but have lovely safe new tyres on the front of the car now!
Kathryn- I HATE those fans, as I am a total paranopid freak! I hope Lachlan is ok and you too! Did you have that drink?LOL Glad the party went well/
Kellee- good luck with the studying an the exam too! Hope your ultrasound is wonderful...I never got tired of looking at my bub on ultrasound. *sigh* all finished for me!
Dasch- hope you and Yasiun are well
Pee- the party sounds wonderful, hope you are all better now!
Christine- PMSL at DH's bird flu, it's always the way isn't it? So glad you are all better now!
Christy- you poor things with the flight! Bugger the sedation not working! Yay for Matilda that is wonderful news and good luck with the bed search too. Jemma started going to the potty weeing at 19 mths and was TT by 22mths fully in the day, it is great when the nappies are no longer needed.
Ambah- great work on the exam, when do you find out the results? Poor turkey chicks, hope you manage to save a few. Where'd the dad go?
I hope I didn't miss too many people, I must dash,
Michelle
-
Sorry Michelle I missed you, how sad that those people didn't say goodbye to Kimberly. Did I miss the reason Kimberly is no longer in care? How is Alex going?
Cheers michelle
-
ambah - your poor turkey babies - though sad as it is i know what they are like when they get older - i keep getting bailed up at the front door by one!
kellee - congrats on "bob" didnt know you were pg - hope your m/s is better & that you have managed to get some study in - how is charlie going?
christy - woohoo at the poo in the toilet & also that your escaping baby will soon be in a big bed - they grow up too quickly - when do you leave for the US?
michelle - that is bad that no one said good bye to kimberley - i remember when i worked in daycare we had little farewell packs for the kids
mooshie - thanks for the info on cows milk - i plan on starting eliana next week - i did reweigh eliana & she was 9.6kg so will do it again next week just to make sure - hope lani is doing ok with the teething
kathryn - what a drama filled day you have had - sorry to hear of lachlan's finger - im paranoid about eliana doing the same thing so put the fan inside the playpen - hope he is doing ok today & sending hugs to you for coping so well
misty - just saying hi & hoping all is well on the beautiful sunshine coast
mitch - lol at little jessica dancing on the table!! i only have to deal with eliana & the stairs - hope all the others are doing well
sorry i havent posted in here - just busy getting over eliana's 1st birthday & trying to find somewhere to put all her presents plus having a few dramas with DP that hopefully we can sort out otherwise i will move back up to the sunshine coast - eliana has grown up so much since she started crawling the week before her birthday - she hasn't gotten into too much stuff though has quickly learnt what no means - she is fascinated with the three open wooden steps & loves sitting on them like she is at a table - i can't enclose them & whatever i put on them she just takes off!!
hope everyone is having a good day
-
Hi mel
I knew I would miss someone and I missed you. They can be buggers can't they ie Eliana and the steps. Hope things work ouit with DP, things seem harder when it is tougher ie money and xmas so hopefully things get sorted. I missed the prob with Eliana's weight, did you say 9.6kg at 12 mths? That sounds good, Jessica just hit 9kgs at 14 mths so I wuldn't be worried either if I was you. The ideal is height and weight in proportion, as long as they don't lose loads of weight and stop growing! Jessica lost weight when she was crook but is starting to put some on now, although she is teething again and being very fussy so not holding my breath for big weight gain next mth.
ANyway better fly
Michelle

just a quickie cause i have to dash soon to get Lachlan's dressing re done. I found out why I got the answering machine to one of my friends last night. Apparently it is there tea time (between 5.30pm and 6.30pm) so they put their machine on so they don't have to answer the phone. She said "you should have said Emergency pick up... I said how in the hell did I know you were even home LOL. But I know if there is ever a next time.
She was apologetic, but I told her not to be as I didn't really get time to leave a msg. Wasn't about to waste a couple of mins saying blah blah blah when I could have Lachlan on his way.

-
Poor Lachlan- how terrifying for you Kathryn
-
Back from the doctor. We have to go in tomorrow and do it all over again as well. When it starts to heal a bit they will have to put an artificial skin on it :( my poor baby. It looks really icky too.
Love
-
Kathryn oh how sad daily Dr visits...how is Lachlan coping with it all?
Well today I went out & did things for me & now I'm absolutely buggered and need a sleep before I pick up Matilda. I'm still in shock over the whole thing & we are going today to pick up her potty :D
-
hi there again
hold onto your hats girls - number 3 post in 2 days lmao
michelle - good to hear from you. you know i can picture jessica exactly, i have a friend and her daughter was a tiny little thing and such a climber, she would have a shower and come out and find her 12mth old climbing the bench - OMG i reckon i would of been on valium permantly if i had a child like her lol - she used to end up having to strap her into the highchair and taking the highchair into the bathroom whilst she had a shower.
kathryn - is lachlan okay now and are you, hell of a fright. those fans can be dangerous, if you can afford it ceiling fans are great, we have one in each bedroom, only problem i found was they usually cost a hell of a lot more to fit than to buy so if you are friendly with an electrican that would help.
misty - pmsl at dh and bird flu. funny thing is my parents came back from thailand the week before lani got her gastro bug and my mum was all paranoid and told me to take her to the docs and tell them they had come back from thailand - i told her gosh mum if she caught anything from you guys don't you think you would of had it to - worry warts lol.
melbee - yes they can be buggers when getting around can't they, steps are a problem in this house to - doesn't help when dh lets lani crawl down frontwards into the step down lounge, can't understand why i am trying to teach her to go backwards when she can get down the one okay at the front - der brain, let her crawl down frontwards on more than one step then you will know about it - silly man my dh is lol.
well had a busy day today with doctors - ds had his hearing tested (i swear he has a hearing problem but it could be "selective") turned out that his ears are chocka full of fluid so the specialist told me to go back to my gp then go back to get hearing retested early in the new year - he is on a nasal spray now to clear the congestion ($28 mind you), i have a funny feeling this kid only hears sort of muffled sounds but he never complains, oh well we will get to the bottom of it. then i had to go and get a blood test for my iron levels so will be interesting to see what it is like. well i am super organised have dinner cooked already to be just reheated when we come back from swimming - i am dreading taking lani she just hates sitting around for the 1/2 hr of lessons, so i feed her up on sultana's etc.
was funny at the chemist today, i asked lani if she was hungry and she started making her hungry noise "mmmm mmm mm" lol and then mik mik mik (for milk) the ladies in the chemist all cracked up laughing and said gee she is an early talker 8-[ , i didn't think so - they must of thought she was younger than what she really is.
well i am off to check the other threads - have a great day
-
Poor Lachlan kathryn, I hope it all heals very quickly, I love ceiling fans too! And strange about your friend, you will know next time.
Christy- hope you got your sleep !LOL
Michelle- I think Lani is prob saying a good amount of words, Jessica doesn't talk much, not as much as Jordan and Jemma did at the same age. Joshua seemed to speak very little, bc Jordan talked for him, and jessica is almost identical to josh in many ways. I feel for your friend and her climber, cos that's where I am too LOL, She actually stands at the shower door though and opens it and gets saturated, but at least I can see her.
About to go out for dinner, will see you later
Michelle
-
LOL hearing all these stories on climbing has got me laughing. Matilda is such a climber its scary. I can't leave her alone for more than 10 seconds because she still drags chairs over to tables or lounges & climbs on them. So I'll find her jumping on the dining room table ](*,) Michelle, sounds familiar??
lol
mooshie - LOL at Lani's talking! Matilda is a real chatter box and will keep going if she gets any attention for it. So I often just walk in the shops answering her like I understand what she is saying and people think I'm weird lol... ah well, must amuse myself somehow :D Sometimes she'll throw in a real word like "bubbles" and keep going and I'll start talking about bubbles and she laughs.
-
Just another quickie. I am down and out with Gastro now. Thankfully only from the bottom end, but it burns so much making an exit if I didn't know better I'd say I have eaten 100 chiliies in the last 24hrs. I am tears currently every time i go cause of the burning sensation. ](*,)
Lachlan also lost his bloody dressing earlier. Just as well I had some gauze here so I have wrapped that around his finger with a couple of bandaids. The stupid nurse wrapped it so it went around his wrist too which annoyed the crap out of him so he had that bit busted by the time we got home, then he was shaking his hands around and the end came flying off ](*,) At least the doctor did it last night so it didn't come off.
Also third thing for the day :-s I was getting something out of the freezer for the boys to have for tea, and I accidently dropped it. I bent down to pick it up and as I was coming up Kameron thought I had finished and slammed the door shut not realising my head was in the way. Thankfully my parents were here at the time cause he nearly knocked me out, and I have a nice lump on the back of my head. I took some mersyndol not long ago, so I am just waiting for that to kick in so I can get some sleep.
God knows how I am going to get Lach to the doc now tomorrow if my gastro is no better. Andrew doesn't want any unecessary time off cause he missed out on his sick leave bonus this year so he found out yesterday, cause of days were he had to come home cause I needed him for something.
Anyway [-o< things are better here for me tomorrow. I promise I will catch up with everyone else's antics soon.
Love
-
Hope you are feeling better soon Kathryn.
When Kimberley had her bandages on when she burnt her hands i put socks on them and tape to stop her from pulling them off. Not sure if this will help with Lachlan and his fingers.
