It was a combination of things, firstly he was smacking his lips whenever we ate something in front of him. He also began waking up at night, whereas he was sleeping through. And he always seemed to being feeding from me. And he was grizzly quite a bit. So we both thought he may need solids and tried him. He ate them with no fuss and has continued going great guns.
Does that help?
-
Thanks Nellbe that has helped heaps.
Alex has just found his lips and smacks them togther after a feed. He has started to get very upset after a feed but will not take anymore and is taking less formula. I was thinking of trying him on some baby rice but just am not sure if it is the right thing to do.
-
Angie - Woohoo for the first tooth \:D/
Nell - yay for Matty`s first football match. Yes I`ve found Matthew`s feeding habits have changed especially in the last 10 days or so, up until then 1 BB for each feed was enough now it`s both and as I said earlier he`d often want a feed every 1 - 2 hours during the day, somehow I don`t think we`re going to make 6 months for solids.
Michelle - as you know I was going to wait till 6 months but I can`t see that happening now as he is always hungry.
Welcome Juliette - happy 3 months to Hannah
Thankyou girls, I didn`t think I was forcefeeding Matthew, it`s just MIL she doesn`t like demand feeding and tonight Mark`s cooking steak on the bbq so I`m not cooking for 6 tonight.

Hmmm, not sure what to suggest. Tanya started Violet on solids around 4 months? Maybe she can help...
All I can say is to trust your instict.
-
Michelle - I agree with Nell trust your instincts.
-
Hello mums and bubs,
Happy 5 months Gabby..and a belated happy 5 months Zander oohh did Violet clock over too..hang on just check ohh yes happy 5 months.
Welcome Juliet and Hannah. Happy 3 months
We are trying the food game again..Eliza seems to be a little more interested, decided that I will give her farex till we see the MCHN in a couple of weeks. I am so tired I think I am coming down with something, I have made an appointment with my doctor I just don't feel right and it has been going on for awhile.
Congrats on the toothies Matty and Ella you will be chomping away on steaks before we know it. I agree with the girls Michelle do what you think is right...or try it and if it is not working don't worry wait awhile, I tried Eliza many times and ended up not continuing.
Dee I down tools when I am feeling a little under appreciated.
Sarah Hope you did some great shopping.
Tanya: I thought temps above 37 are classed as low grade...39 and 40 are doctor time...I'm not too sure though, I still can't seem to get the temp thing in her ear...little wiggler. lol at the girls and the lippy..at least it wasn't on a pimply little boy...lol
Better go and get some sleep. Talk to you soon.
Bec

See what happens when your puter crashes all of the time. I have huge ammounts of post's to catch up on, it couldn't have been just a quiet weekend on BB.
Happy 5 months to Gabby - your getting old girlie :)
Welcome Juliet and Hannah :)
Angie and Ella yay for your first toothy peg =D>
Dee, somedays - actually most of them I am feeding Tehya every couple of hours, sometimes twice in an hour as she only has quick feeds. They say that bf babies don't overfeed, soooooo phooey to your MIL.
Michelle, I personally would wait until Alex was a little older - atleast 4 months, but that's just me. As the other girls said you know your own baby best. Maybe just up his breastfeeds (or bottles, sorry don't know what he's on) around his age he will be having a growth spurt which is why he might be hungrier. HTH. Just my opinion of course.
Sarah, I hope that you had a nice time out shopping by yourself. IKWYM about feeling like you've forgotten something. I went out for 90minutes up to the scrapshop on Thursday night without Tehya and Ifelt like I'd forgotten something in the car. I know the jumpy thing you are talking about. Marks' parents got one for Noah's first xmas so we have to pull it out soon for Tehya.
Tanya, I hope that Violets starts to feel better really soon. Fingers crossed that you got a better nights sleep last night. LOL at the girls. Ahhh to be a teenager again.
I think around 36degrees is the average temp for a baby - their body temp is a little lower than ours. So anything above 37.5 in considered a low fever, above 38 a fever and 39 she needs to go to the Drs. Funny you say that about Noah sounding like Golem, he use to muck around and do that stupid walk and we would call him Golem, especially when he did it naked 8-[
Bec, I hope you enjoyed your great day with Eliza. Sounds like you were in a fantstic mood.
Deb, I hope all is going well with you and yours. How's Miss Gabby handling getting older? :)
Well I have a tentative YAY!!!! We made an offer on the house and they accepted it. Now we just have to get financil approval. They want a longer settlement so that's great for us in the way that we can get together more $$$ but of course once you know the house is yours you want to move in straight away. We are going for another look this afternoon and the financier is going around tonight for a chat. I think I will have to leave Mark to it and get all of the kids out of the house so they can chat properly though.
Tehya is still being a buggar with her sleeping. I think we got just over an hour out of her all day yesterday and by the afternoon she was feral. I had an undercoverwear party here so my house was full too.
I did pretty well out of it, got $90 to spend plus 3 half price garments and a garment for $20. Not too bad although I won't by bra's from there atm because they don't sell maternity ones.
Brandon is chucking a sicky today. Amazing how he can be coughing his gits up all morning and once I give in and say yes you can stay home it all stops. Still, I knew he wasn't that sick. He can give me a hand around here today instead.
Take care
Trish

Wow... one day away from BB and look what I have to catch up on!
Before I forget tho.... Sarah and Dee - that link I sent you was wrong. You need to wack an " .au " on the end because doofus here forgot to put it on. Nell asked me about it so I went to check and it was a whole other site!! ](*,) So if you went there and it doesn't make sense, that's why. Silly me!
Thanks everyone for the 5 months congrats. I can't believe we are almost half way through her first year!! 8-[
Angela - yay for Ella's tooth! I hope they all come in that smoothly for you and her! Hope you can find a lovely christening dress. I will have to get mine out and have a look next time I am at Mum's.
Bec - sounds like you had a lovely weekend. The scrapbooking sounds great. LOL @ being married so long that there isn't much conversation. Neil and I still converse but it's usually me doing all the talking and him grunting every now and then, LOL. Hope you are feeling better.
Trish - yay @ your offer being accepted for the house. I dunno how you guys afford to buy houses up that way. My Aunty and Uncle flipped when they came down from Canberra for a visit because the houses were so cheap and they were looking at properties in Torquay which are considered expensive!! Yay 4 the bargains at your undercover wear party. LOL @ Brandon "suddenly" being ok. Put him to work, I say!! ;)
Michelle - I would say to try and string Alex out til 4 months. Gabby was having some Farex at about 4.5 months (mainly because I felt my supply was low) but now she has it because she has been watching us eat.
Sarah - isn't it funny how when you go out without the baby, you feel like you have left something behind? I always go to get Gabby out of the car when she's not with me. Bizarre!
Dee - I am with the others. You are not overfeeding Matthew by any means. He has lots to drink during the day because he sleeps so well at night. Gabby was pretty much the same. Now she has adjusted herself. She sleeps less at night (7-8 hours instead of 10-12 hours) and has longer naps during the day. They are the ones that figure it out. Your MIL is obviously from the generation where a strict routine was advised (and found to be no good for the child at all). So don't let her put doubt into your head. You are doing an amazing job!!!
Nell - YAY for Matty's second tooth AND for having a drink from his sippy cup AND for going to the footy. WOW! He's a clever boy. You can see what they mean when they say that kids grow up way too fast, hey?
Tanya - I hope you got a better sleep last night. LOL @ the girls playing with lipstick until all hours of the night. It makes me remember what we used to get up to during our sleepovers.... oh dear!! ;)
Well, I managed to drag Neil to church yesterday. Mum was rapt. She took Gabby up the front to show her off when the service started. It was a bit full-on (communion and everything - a lot for Neil) but it was nice to catch up with a whole lot of people that I haven't seen in a while. Gabby was pretty good. She started sooking a little so I wrapped her up and gave her to Hanna (my sis) because she can normally get any baby to sleep. But Hanna had to help with handing stuff out so she gave Gabby to Mum and she wouldn't sleep. So I popped her in the hug-a-bub and she slept for about 30 minutes. She was a pretty good girl tho.
We had lunch and Mum's then headed home. I was sooooo tired for some reason so I had a nap when Gabby did. She slept for 4 hours!! 8-[ I woke up at about 7pm. Neil had done the dishes and cooked dinner. WOW! If only all Sundays were so perfect.
-
Hey deb, that sounded like an awesome day!! Yesterday was also fun - the bb WA mmet. It waa fun, but also tired the kids out. Now im worried about declan, he slept all night, got up, had a little feed (i forcefed him, i was soooo full!) and is sleeping peacefully. he didnt even stir when DH slammed the font door (grrrr... ) I jusr hope he ist getting sick again, he sleeps heaps when he's sick (doesnt usually sleep much)
It amazing how many of these kids turned 5 months on the last 2 or 3 days!! Declan is thriving, the MCHN couldnt believe i though i was a bad mum... she weighd declan and told me he's 9.2kg, and doing very very well (i think he's above the 3rd percentile!!) not bad for a premmie!! Xander is still stuck on his vegemite s/w, toast, milk and cheese... at leat there's lots of vitamins in his diet!!
Anyway, xander's asking for "toas" so i'd better keep this one short...
-
Hey girls... lots of chatting in here!!!
Just a quick one from me... Violets temp was above 38 all day yesterday and this morning it was 40 and she was screaming and panting... so off to the hospital. She has a bad throat infection and is on antibiotics. I've just spent the passed hour trying to comfort her, she is asleep in my arms for the moment...
She won't eat and hardly sleeps... lots of crying.
Anyway might be back later when bub starts to feel better... fingers crossed.
Tanya
-
Awww poor Violet. I hope she gets better real soon Tanya & that the antibiotics help her out. Sounds like you might need to leave her with Wato for a night so you can get some sleep.
Yay on Declan going so well with his growth Simone :D
Sounds like you had the perfect Sunday Deb. Yay for Neil cleaning and cooking while letting mummy have a sleep.
Woohooo on your offer being accepted for the house Trish, how exciting :D Sounds like you did well out of the undercover wear party, well done!
Yay for starting solids again for Eliza, Bec. Hows she going?
Nell, Zander is getting close to those things you've descibed Matty did when he was ready for solids, so we might be starting pretty soon.
Boring shopping guys - ink for the printer & groceries! I'm going to a kids book party tomorrow with the girls from MG, so that will be some fun shopping!
-
Oh no poor Violet, I hope she feel better real soon.
Sarah - Have fun tomorrow at MG
Simone - Sounds like Declan is thriving
Deb - sounds like you had a great day yesterday
Deb/Trish - I`m glad I`m not the only one around who has to feed their bubs often throughout the day and Deb your correct MIL did go by the books with their guidelines and becuase of the 4 hourly feeds it wasn`t enough for Mark so he was on solids at 5 weeks
Trish - Yay at making an offer on the house, I`m so excited for you \:D/
Bec - It was nights like Sat when I wasn`t well (still not), baby wanting me for food and I`m trying to prepare dinner that I do feel like downing the tools, not sure what MIL would have thought of that though
We brought a new washing machine today, we`ve been unsure what to do as the one we like was $1899 - a lot of money for something to wash your clothes in but today decided to go ahead and buy it from Harvey Norman with the buy now, pay in 18 months but we`re going to pay $100 off it each month so at the end of the 18 months we don`t have to pay 27% interest each month if we don`t happen to have the money. We haven`t got it yet, they had to order it in so hopefully pick it up in a day or so.

Alex slept much better last last he even slept in till 9 just a shame Kimberley woke so early i would have had a lovely sleep in.
I am going to try and keep him away from solids till after 4months old. Not long to go now anyway.
Poor Violet hope she feels better soon.
Deeanne sounds like you had fun shopping don't you just love buy now pay in 18months. That's what we did on Saturday.
Sarah - Hope you have fun at MG.
-
Tanya - sorry to hear about poor Violet. I hope she gets better soon. How scary!
Michelle - good to hear that Alex slept well last night. Just a pity about Kimberley! I guess that's the hard work with having more than one, hey? No sleep at all for Mum!
Dee - wow... solids at 5 weeks!! That should have proven to your MIL that she needed to BF more. The things they used to do in the past! Wow. Yay for your new washing machine! The 18 months interest free is great (though I have had HEAPS of trouble with GE Capital - still, they fix their mistakes each time). We have bought several things from Harvey Norman and Retra Vision with interest free and it's great because you don't have to wait to use the stuff like you do with layby. It also means you can get what you want and not have to worry so much if it is an expensive item.
Sarah - sounds like MG will be good tomorrow with a book party. One of the girls in our MG does body shop parties so we got to soak our feet last week. Very nice. I don't think anyone ordered anything tho! I hope she wasn't annoyed with us.
Simone - I hope Declan is ok and that the sleeping isn't a sign that he is sick. Good to hear the WA meet went really well. His weight is fantastic!! For a premmie, that is unreal! Gabby has yet to hit the 6kg mark though I am hoping she has by now. Will find out on Wednesday when I get her weighed.
Went shopping with my sisters today. I got Gabby a couple of things from PP on the clearance racks. I wasn't overly impressed with the sale prices so I only got a couple of things. We went to lincraft and got some more scrapping stuff (again, not overly impressed with the prices). Then I bought myself some jeans and a jumper that actually fit! YAY! I am glad I managed to get something for myself.
I can feel AF coming on :( Poo! I guess I wasn't imagining it last time (though that was 2 months ago 8-[ ).
-
I shouldn't have spoken so soon. Ella cried for about 2 hours this afternoon and was a monster for the rest of the day. The only good thing about today was that the Paediatrician believes that he will be able to get her eczema under control. More medication and more money ($110 for Dr and $32 for medication).
They cost us so much money, but we could never live without them.
Second tooth is about to cut so I guess I'll have more crying.......
-
Alex would not go to bed last night he kept falling asleep in my arms and as soon as i put him down he screamed we left him for a little while but he just would not stop. I finally got him to sleep but giving him some more milk but he woke again after 4hrs and again screamed when i put him back to bed he did the same 4hrs later i had to rest my hand under his head until he was alseep. Not sure what is wrong he has gone from waking once a night to 2 or 3 times.
I am seeing the CYN today so i will ask what else i can do.
Hope everyone has a nice day.
-
Angela - bugga about speaking too soon. Poor little Ella! Good to hear the paed thinks he can get her eczema under control.
Michelle - I hope the CHN can shed some light on what is happening with Alex. It's gotta suck having to get up so many times a night.
Gabby was SUCH a grumpy-bum last night. She woke from her nap at about 6pm but was soooooo grizzly that I put her back to bed. She slept until 8pm but was grumpy again when she got up. 2 hours of grizzling!! I tried some farex but that just made her sook more. I ended up making Neil give her a bath because I was just over it. She was almost falling asleep as I was dressing her. She was sniffly when she woke up this morning so I am thinking she might be coming down with something. Looks like I am in for some fun too!
-
Gotta make this quick, Matty is in the jolly jumper but starting to tire out.
Deb - I hope Gabby doesn't come down with anything. Fingers crossed. yay to your Sunday though.
Tanya - I hope that Violet gets better real soon and noone else on your house gets sick.
Trish - yay on your house offer being accepted! I hope it all comes through for you.
Michelle - I hope Alex has a better night and hopefully your CYN will have some ideas.
Angie - sorry to hear about Ella.
Dee - how's everything going? Yay at new washing machine. That's one thing us mums need to be working properly. :)
Sarah - yay at your scrapbooking! Now the kids book party sounds like a party I would love to go too, hope you have fun!
Okay, little man is getting cranky, time for boobie juice. Hope all is well with everyone else.
-
Nell - I`m okay, feeling a little better but still full of this cold and feeling extremely tired all the time and I`m going to bed at 8pm 8-[
Deb - I hope Gabby`s not coming down with a cold. Oh no at feeling AF come, has she arrived since Gabby?
Michelle - I hope the CYN can give you some advice.
Sorry ladies have to dash, Matthew`s wanting food, will come back later :D
-
I think both the kids are coming down with something. Declan went to sleep at 6pm last night (without a feed) slept til about 3, had a feed, then is still asleep. And xander went down at 7.30 as usual, and is still asleep as well!! Im still in bed, dragged the laptop in :) every morning i just feel soooo yucky, tired worn out and 'off.' wish whatever i've got would go away!! Hope everyone feels better soon, :)
-
Dee - nup... no sign of AF yet... just cramps yesterday. I feel ok today tho. Sorry to hear you are still feeling ick! Hope it goes away soon!!
Nell - sounds like Matty is fighting fit. LOL - I laugh at the "Boobie Juice" whenever you say it. Very cute!
Hehehe... I am still in my jammies. I suppose I should get my butt into the shower. It's one of those days where I just can't be bothered! I bet someone pops over for a visit and catches me being lazy, LOL.
-
Sorry Simone... posting at the same time.
Oh dear! Sounds like one unwell household for you atm. Wow @ both the boys still be asleep. Sounds like rest is just what they need (and you too). Hope you are all feeling better soon!
-
Nell - I forgot to say before we were looking into a new washing machine because of two reasons, I need a bigger one then the one we have plus the one we have uses about 76 litres of water per wash and when your on tank water and it doesn`t rain that`s a lot of water which we have to buy in.
Simone - Wow @ the boys having a big sleep.
Deb - Perhaps your ovulating without getting a period that`s why your getting cramps but no AF, just a thought.
Angela - I hope Ella`s 2nd tooth comes without too much crying for Ella. That`s great that the Paediatrician thinks he can control her eczema.
We had another night of waking, it seems to be becoming a ritual for a night feed now, then sleep for 3 hours and want another feed so Matthew seems to be getting up earlier in the morning now even with a feed in the middle then what he was with going all night sleeping. Just when I thought after 5 weeks of sleeping through he was in a routine.

Hi All,
Hope everyone is well. Once again we've been slack at posting 8-[
Jess is doing great and adapting well to motherhood. I'm really enjoying being a dad too :D Kristanna & I have now created a ritual daddy/daughter day on the weekends - we will go out and about and spend the entire day together while Jess has some time to herself. I think it is giving Jess a much needed break, and also gives me some bonding time with Kristanna that I miss out on being at work all week.
Kristanna is thriving. She had her 4 month immunisations last week and got a clean bill of health from the doctor. She now weighs in at 7.6Kg and is getting closer to another clothes size. She's a long one, tends to want to pop out the legs of her growsuits.
In the past week she has perfected rolling from her back to tummy, and takes great delight in rolling over every chance she gets. (Usually during a nappy change). She has also found her voice and yabbers at everything from the TV to the cat to strangers in the shopping centre.
It's really exciting to watch her grow and develop and to see her personality starting to show.
How are all the other bubs, mums and dads going?
-
Mark - wow! Kristanna is doing reeeeallly well by the sounds of things! Rolling and everything?? Gabby isn't even doing that now at 5 months! What a clever little girl you have. Good on you for giving Jess some time to herself on the weekends. Even though you have to work all week, it must be nice to have those "Daddy-Daughter" moments.
Dee - wow! Any wonder you wanted to change washing machines. Bummer about Matthew's new sleeping habits. I am waiting for Gabby's to change. I have a feeling that once the teeth start happening, so will the night-wakings.
I just went to kmart and picked up a layby. I got the "Music for Dreaming" CD. So far so good. I used to put on a soothing music CD for Gabby's naps but it was all separate songs. The music for dreaming is continuous so I just have it on to repeat the whole cd and it keeps going. Helps to drown out all the outside noise. I also got her 2 of those baby einstein DVDs so I will put one on after her nap to see if she likes them. I think I will save one of them for Christmas. You don't think she will be too old for it then??
-
Saw the CYN and she said it is called wonder weeks something to do with them doing new things also she said as alex did not sleep much yesterday he could have been over tired from doing stuff like playing as he did have a lot of play time yesterday.
I'll be back later once Kimberley has stopped playing with everything she can find she is now just going to pick up the telephone to talk to it. Lucky we brought new ones and we unplugged the old one.
-
Michelle - I guess that makes sense. They say that good sleep promotes good sleep so, if they sleep well during the day, they are meant to sleep well at night. It's amazing how many people say "Oh well, she has had a big day with hardly any sleep. At least she will sleep well tonight!". Soooo not true. I guess all of it is exaserbated by taking in all the new information that they are presented with. Gabby was funny today. When she was feeding, some music came on the TV and she spun her head around to look at it - like lightening. She's never done that before. She's really starting to "notice" everything around her. It must be amazing to discover all these new things!!
-
Mark - Kristanna sounds like she`s doing wonderfully and good on you for giving Jess a day for herself so you can spend it with Kristanna.
Deb - I`ve been thinking about buying a couple of the einstein DVD`s but haven`t got around to it yet, I don`t think she`ll be too old for it by Christmas.
Michelle - I guess that could be right at this age they are learning so many new things, it must be a lot to take in and remember.
Keep meaning to tell you girls yesterday while at Harvey Norman all Matthew wanted to do was blow raspberries, I couldn`t keep a straight face - what do they say small things amuse small minds. I also don`t think I`ve told you that Matthew laughs and giggles each time I change his clothes, they crack you up don`t they - I tell him he`s like Daddy loves having no clothes on LOL
-
Dee - they are a crack up, hey?? It makes it very hard to keep a straight face! So cute that Matthew giggles when you change his clothes. Gabby cracks it when I dress her. She likes being rudey nudey. In that respect, she is just like me as a baby. Mum said that when I was a toddler, I would constantly take off my clothes and nappy and run around buck-naked. Thank goodness for society that I don't do that these days! Ewwww... that would be a sight!! LOL
-
I got a age list on when they go through these stages and it is about right for 3 months old to get a little upset. I hope it only lasts a few days.
Debbie - You are so right no matter what they do during the day it does not mean they will sleep at night.
Dee - Matthew is just too cute. It is hard to keep a straight face when they are doing things wait till he gets older and you want to tell him off and all you do is laugh. It is so hard not to laugh at times.
-
Tried to post yesterday but my puter crashed on me. So not fair, there is way too much to catch up on. Hopefully I can do it briefly.
Deb, I have finally pulled out my Sounds for Silence cd, just yesterday. I had it one for a few minutes when I was feeding Tehya and she crashed straight away, purely coincidental I think, but I am going to try it out a few more times today. I want to try to get Tehya used to going down to bed awake before we go into sleep school so it's not as much of a shock to her. So how was the baby einstein DVD? I've seen them around but not really paid much attention to them.
Michelle, good to hear that the CHN had some answers for you. It is very true what Deb said about them not sleeping well at night if they have little sleep during the day. I can certainly vouch for that. Most days we are lucky to get 90 minutes of broken sleep out of Tehya and then she's awake half of the night. Hopefully Alex starts to sleep better for you real soon.
Dee, very cute about Matthew and the raspberries. Tehya loves to be nude as well, we usually lay her on floor during dinner with her nappy off so we can get some happiness out of her (and a hot dinner for me).
Mark, sounds like Kristanna is going great guns. Good to hear that she is doing so well and growing quite nicely too.
Angela, good to hear that the Paed can sort ot Ella's excema. Fingers crossed for painfree teething.
Simone, I hope that the boys aren't getting sick. Still, atleast they are sleeping great for you.
Sarah, how are you and Zander going? Hopefully all is well in your house.
Tanya, how are you and the girls doing? Hope that Violet gets better quick.
Nell, hope that you and Matty are doing well. Good to hear that he still loves his Boobie Juice :)
Ok, I know that I've missed out on peoples. My little brain can only cope with so much. We had a pretty good nights sleep last night. I think we only got up twice which is very rare for Tehya.
Our finance got approved for the house and we went and had a second look at the house. We took off our rose glasses and found quite a few negatives about the property. Also they still haven't let us know if the back room is council approved yet. We are finding out about the room and getting the building inspection done before we leave a deposit. Nobody else is looking at the property which also makes us wonder if we are crazy, KWIM? Mark and I have decided if someone else does go for the property then we won't be disapointed.
While we were checking out the house with the real estate agent - a nice guy just abit stiff and straight, anyway he was bending down looking at the carpet and Noah decided it was the perfect oppotunity to give this guy a noogy ( a rough rub on the head) #-o I didn't see him do it but Mark said he had to pick Noah up and walk away to hide his laughter. Don't now who's worse - the dad or the kid.
Hopefully it won't take me so long to get back on here again.
Take care
Trish

Nope. I couldn't do it briefly.

Had a loooong day yesterday so no BB!
The book party was great yesterday Nell, I spent $50 but could have spent a whole lot more....
Hopefully the boys are both ok & you too Simone.
Always the way Deb, you have a lazy day & someone catches you out & they think it's always like that!! How did the CDs go??
Dee, how did Matthew go last night? Hopefully he slept a bit better than the one before. LOL at the raspberries, I usually do them back to Zander - now that is embarrassing when someone notices!
Hey Mark, long time no speak! Yay for all the new things that Kistanna is doing now :) And good on you for giving mummy a day off on the weekend, I bet Jess really appreciates it.
Yay for your finance being approved Trish, but bumma that the house isn't exactly what you thought in the beginning - do you think that might be a reason for them to drop the price?
Well I told the girls at MG yesterday & didn't jinx it so I figure I can t4ell you guys too! Cross your fingers that I don't jinx it now.... Zander has been sleeping through since Saturday night \:D/ No whimpers for the dummy or anything! He's been sleeping from about 9pm-9am :D
-
Hey all :)
We're baaack!! And much happier!! *PHEW* Now I just have to catch up on all the house work that I didn't get done with a screaming baby.
Still up during the night last night, but I suppose she is making up for all the meals she missed while she was really bad. She just wouldn't suck... so I expressed some milk and fed it to her through a straw... eventually she got the hang of it and she can now drink (very unorthodox) out of a straw :D ... the only good thing to come out of about a week!!
Soooo much to catch up on!!
Trish... yay for finance! I think it would only be normal to be having some doubts..... maybe you should write down all the cons and see if you can live with them... if you can't, maybe keep looking.
Deb, Alecia aaaalways ran around in the nud when she was little... no shame, even now, if Wato wasn't here she'd be in the nud!! lol.
Dee, yay for a new washer!! We need a new one too... I don't think ours has much life left in it...
I have to agree with the other girls... if no-one is going to help you with Matthew or help cook tea... they can wait for tea!
How cute of Matthew blowing raspberries... Emily didn't do them till she was about 6+mo... but she used to click her tounge. Violet has been blowing raspberries since she was a couple of months old.. thats how I know she is getting the grumps, and spit goes every where.
Mark, great to hear Kristanna is going so well.
Michelle, i hope you get more sleep out of Alex soon. As for solids... If you think he is ready go for it... you will know once you put food in his mouth if he is ready... if he isn't ready, he will push it out with his tounge, so he physically isn't ready for it... but if he can chew it and swallow it with very litlle coming out of his mouth ... maybe he is ready. I put Violet on solids to try and curb her wakingin the night... it worked for a few nights... but then back to thte night feeding... so it worked for a couple of nights... but that was it.
Simone I hope things are better at your house
Anyway, I think I have caught up... as far back as the review goes anyway.
Hope the rest of you girls and bubs are doing well.

Girls thought I might ask you all a quick question before I`m off to the Dr`s.
As you know Matthew`s been waking of a night now, last night it was twice and he was starving, he also had wet through everything at his first wake up so I had to change him anyway while doing his buttons up on his shoulder he turned his head and started nawing at my fingers, this has happened quite often in the last few days, from Matthew`s behaviour do you think he`s looking for more food or is it just a phase they go through, I`ve also checked to see if there may be teeth coming but can`t see or feel any lumps so I`ve ruled that one out.
I`ll do personals later today or tomorrow.
Take Care

Sarah I am so glad that Zander is sleeping through - yay!
Tanya - good to see you back, wtg to Violet for drinking out of a straw, what a clever girl she is!
Trish - good to see you back too, sorry to hear things may not be what you seem, hope tkhe building inspection goes okay.
Dee - the mums in my MG were talking about the exact same thing,. We all agreed that around 4 months, for no reason, they start waking for feeds etc again, but they get out of it. I think he is exploring with his mouth, as well as it could be teeth.... Both of Matty's just popped up overnight.
Hi Everyone else!

Hi everyone! I finally have a chance to get my BB fix for the day!! Normally I am on much earlier....
Sarah - yay for Zander's good sleeps!! Sounds like he is really getting the hang of it. Good job for only spending $50 @ the book party. I imagine it would be easy to go well over the $100 mark.
Tanya - that's great that Violet can drink from a straw! What a clever girl. LOL @ Alecia being in the nud if Wato wasn't there.
Nell - how are your teeth going? Was it a relief to finally get them out?
Dee - Gabby is putting everything in her mouth. She even turns her head and tries to suck on my cheeks alllll the time (esp. when she is tired). I think it's just part of their development. Still, if you want to put your mind at ease, perhaps try a little bit of the 4-6 month farex?? I know that Gabby isn't phased whether she has it or not but I think it has helped her weight gain in the last little bit. If he doesn't take to it, then no worries. All you can do is try - but only if you are comfortable with it (and don't tell your MIL - she might just do the whole "I told you so" crud ;) ).
Trish - I've always had music going for Gab during her naps and a fan at night time because it drowns out all the other noises. Last night I just had the music on and she slept through so I am going to do that from now on. I am just too scared to leave the room silent in case she wakes up! The music for dreaming was really good. There's only a break in music when it goes back to the first song and it doesn't wake her so that's a bonus. She loves the baby einstein DVD. I put on the language one. It has people talking in all different languages. She loves it. I have kept the numbers one for Christmas. Yay for the finance being approved! I hope that the back room was approved. It's a bit suss if they are taking so long to let you know... hmmm... It's amazing how your perspective can change when you take those rose glasses off, hey? Are they things that you can improve or would it be too much work? Things have a way of working themselves out. If it's meant to be, it will be iykwim?
Miss Gabby did a 5:30am wake up again this morning so we were both back in bed at 7:30-11am. It put me waaaaay behind but I was glad for the sleep. I took her to the MCHN and she has put on 240 grams in the last 2 weeks and has grown 2.5cms in length. I felt like saying "SO NERRR!" to the nurse but I didn't ;) I just said that all I have done it feed her more often (didn't tell her about the farex because I didn't want a lecture). So it's all good here for now. We went for a drive to Neil's work to give him some cold and flu tablets. He has a cold for the second time this month. I personally think he is burnt out because he is so stressed at work but the dude won't take a day off!! Grrrr! I hope Gabby doesn't get the cold. She has been a bit funny the last couple of days. She wakes up with a bit of a snotty nose but it hasn't really gone further than that. Here's hoping that's all it amounts to.

Hi All!
Guess it's about time to pop into the 3 month thread! Hannah turned 3 months on Sunday. So far she's doing really well - she's now 6660g, 60cm long, and head circ. 40.5cm. We're still having sleep issues, but I guess there are many out there who are struggling with the same!
I'll try to catch up with where you're all at and get some personals done when I'm up to date...
In the mean time, I hope everyone and their precious little bubs are well!

Wow Juliette, what a cubby little bub you have!! They weighde Violet in the hospital on Monday and she was 6.36kg (mind you I think she had lost a little because she was ill), and she is 5mo!!
Yay Deb for 250grams!! Well done Gab! :D Got to be happy with that!
Dee... Like I said to Michelle... what ever you think he needs... you can try him on solids and see if he is in fact ready, you don't have to do it full time... if you decide against it you don't have to keep going. But like I also said to Michelle, I tried the same thing (giving solids to prevent night waking) and it only worked for a few nights then back to the same thing... but that is only my expierience
